You two are expert rose gardeners! I've always loved how beautifully you work together, how remarkable your plant knowledge is, how kind and respectful you are to each other and to your sweet children, and that you both have such a wonderful sense of humor!! We are now Texas neighbors as I live in Houston, and we understand humidity and heat, don't we??!! Linda 😀😀
(Yes, Peggy Martin roses are very very popular in Houston. During Covid they were almost impossible to find. They are exquisite roses!) Neck protectors are extremely useful in Texas.

Gardening in humid weather is rough.🥵Here in Orlando there is so much humidity and the air is so thick. I bought a neck fan to help, that may be something that may help you all as well and hydrating. Your rose garden is going to look amazing! I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about Peggy Martin, can’t wait to see how it grows along your arch.

And for anyone who judged you, shame on them❤

I love your videos and have been following them since virginia. I like that you are taking it slow, especially when you are putting in the infrastructure. I didn't see the video when you put your arch trellises and fence. Did i miss that one 😢 . Good job, Ambrose protecting yourself.

You guys are doing great! Gardening in central TX is no joke. I would totally do the same and start with the structure and layout of the garden beds. Pathways and Grass last! Don’t forget to mulch those areas well! That will help add to the definition of the space and elevate the beauty of the area. Angie, the humidity here is insane and you were so accurate! You can seriously just be standing and begin to drip in sweat! I fertilized my annuals this morning and I was dripping in sweat when I was done. I will be curious to see how the hydrangeas and supertunias do for you. I’ve only been successful with PW hydrangeas in a pot. My PW indigo mini vista are blooming but I have superbena, whirlwind blue scaevola and the artist blue ageratum out performing it. Look forward to more videos, stay hydrated!

Totally understand the scarf … many people who do landscaping wear head/neck gear to protect the skin in hot summer sun… gotcha with the grass situation … great progression.. 👍🏼💯

June has been a beautiful month in East Texas after it rained all of May. This time last year, we were already hitting the hundreds and it hadn't rained in a month. It's upper 80s, lower 90s so far but like you say, the humidity has been high so the heat index is into the low hundreds. That fenceline is going to be pretty!

I'm so happy to see you planting your David Austin roses. I've been a big fan of his roses for more than twenty five years. My first Davis Austin was Graham Thomas and I still have it! I remember your Gertrude Jekyll growing over your back door and I have always loved that. Yes, please do many rose videos! I'm in PA and the Japanese beetles have arrived. Do you get those pests in Texas?

It's really starting to take shape. Would mulch be helpful for the watering? Be careful in that heat! Blessings 😊

Ambrose, I lived on tums also with the acid reflux. I asked my Doctor what I could take and he said to take QMEPRAZOLE which helped me. I only take as needed. Maybe you should try them.

Exactly the video I have been waiting for! It is SO hot here for past week that the new roses I just bought are in their DA containers waiting for a day that cools a bit to plant them. I found Emily Bronte and Mill on the Floss and I was thrilled to get these two beauties to add to my garden. I have a lot of clay soil it is very bad so I add compost and add Biotone and Rosetone too. I accidentally planted my Generous Gardener a little deep and now it is sending up shoots from the ground and putting on buds. Love love love my Teasing Georgia, it is a beast and so beautiful, I bought a circular 7 ft obelisk and it is almost to the top in second year and full of blooms. Thank you for this video and it is going to look fabulous once they get established. Have a great day! Please keep the rose and garden updates coming!

your dedicated area for a rose garden is going to be so gorgeous!
I'm wondering if putting compost in the hole will cause the crown to eventually get covered as the compost decomposes? I've noticed this happening to mine even though I only put biotone in the hole with no compost. I'm thinking in my case the original soil medium from the grower must be decomposing causing the rose to sink. Then when I add any mulch, the crown is even more covered. Maybe come February, I'll attempt to raise the root ball higher. I'm in Houston 9b.

It is very tough to move. I’m happy you are enjoying your garden. It’s a very slow process the garden is such a perfect way to see us adapt to a new way. Our Gertrude Jekyll roses are screaming to be planted and trained! 😂 We will get there soon. I’ll do a video soon on them. Once again I’m very happy you are enjoying your garden. 🤗💐💚

check to see if your acid reflux maybe due to a helicobacter pylori bacteria infection in your stomach. i mention that to a friend who had acid reflux. his doctor gave him a dose of antibiotic and that solved his stomach problem.

The pink DA rose bushes by the little fence are Harlow Carr. It’s a very heat tolerant rose does really well in hot climates. Thank you for watching as the rose garden gets planted we will share more. 💚💚💚💚💚💚

What a stupid question about grass growing in Texas. Your garden is a work in progress and it makes no sense to lay grass until you’re almost done. Plus the best time to lay grass is in early spring or fall where the rain will help it establish.

I'm sorry to admit this but...the wife needs to work on a better presentation. All the "ummmmmssss" and "ummmms" and ummmmm's" makes it hard to follow. I hardly ever finish a video when it's the wife stumbling to get a sentence out. it's torturous as the viewer. I'm sorry!
