I was going to Thailand alone first time 2016 as a twenty one year old guy and was there for 6 months alone, it was one of my best trips ever. You meet so many new people when you travel alone because you are forced to socialize with new people. Also met my Thai girlfriend that year and have been together for 5 years now! Love the videos!
Always do solo trips because maybe I am a loner or selfish, but I get to meet the best people and often see things I wouldn't if I was with someone else. I do not like being hamstrung by someone else's timeline. So 100% support this video.
I soloed travel in Pattaya Thailand for the first time and it’s so liberating. The best thing I ever did no nagging wife, I don’t have to wait for a friend what time they wake up basically I can do whatever I like and I can be myself it’s awesome 😎. In addition, I made friends along the way..
I went to Thailand alone when I turned 63 and I had never been out of North America. It was a little scary and intimidating and leading up to the trip I stressed about all the things that could go wrong. I worried for nothing because as you said so correctly, I had to get out of my comfort zone and try new and unknown things. It turned out to be a positive life-changing experience. Had I gone with a group I would never have experienced some of the things I got to do or meet some of the people that to this day, I am still friends with. My only regret is that I waited so long to travel abroad. I hope to return in February 2022..........
Never too late to start a new adventure at any age Steve. I first went to Thailand at 60 and am just glad I found it at whatever stage of life I was in. Who knows, I may not have even liked it as a younger man but I am pretty sure I would have ; )
I always do solo travel. Always alone but never lonely. Traveling alone you can do what you want, when you want or you can do absolutely nothing! Also it is the best way to meet people!
I’m a BIG solo traveler as well. I love being able to be spontaneous and change up the day’s plans at any time. Life is also too short to wait for someone to go with you. But have to admit on occasion you would like someone to share an incredible sunset or memorable moment with ( other than via a photo).
Great videos!! I've been to Pattaya maybe 50 times, and most have been solo!! Don't get me wrong, it's great going to Pattaya with a wingman, someone to share experience with, but even when I've traveled with a friend, we haven't always finished it together because either I've met someone or him and we'll just do our own thing with our new "friend", lol!! And when I've gone alone, I've had a blast as well because especially in Pattaya, you'll end up meeting people to hang with. Or even being alone is great because for sure you're not going to end the night alone!! You do whatever you want, whenever you want, without having to worry about anything!! And, you bring home only the stories you want!!
I agree 100% Adam, did all the boys holidays including Thailand, but when you go alone, you can do things at your own pace and in your own time, you'll see and do things that you'd never do on a lads holiday and plus meet people that you would never meet when you are in a group, I highly recommend everybody that gets a chance to do it, you learn a lot more on a solo trip 👍
I’m turning 26 in October and you motivated me to book a solo trip to Thailand from November-December. Californian and it’s my first time traveling internationally, thank you. 🙌🏼
I want to come to Thailand. This would b my first time and also my first time traveling alone. I’m really nervous but I know I gotta do this. This is a great video. Always watching bud 🙏🏻📸
Great Video. I love travelling by myself. Best way to meet people and you are also more approachable to locals as a group of rowdy western guys can scare locals off
Solo all the way. getting to know a city from scratch including the language is a lot of the fun. In Asia especially, it’s not seen as strange to be drinking or dining alone in a bar or restaurant. Loved the short cuts at the end.
i am 54 , 3yrs ago i solo travelled from Bolivia through Peru Then Colombia , with boat to Panama then Nicuragua and guatamala staying in hostels , 2yrs ago went through Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi , also alone ,, have also travelled through India alone , i find the freedom to do what i want when i want the best , if i find a place i like i will stay longer there and shorter in other places , without pressure from someone else to do what they want
1000 percent Keis.. As long as you are an extrovert (or at least push yourself to be for a night) and can talk to people it's the only way!! What happens next is beautifully unpredictable... Welcome to. Life!! 👍👍
Totally digging this solo to Thailand. I have all over USA, but this is different but still cool. Ive got another 6 weeks I hope. Want to get around Bangkok more and then move out some. No worries mate, this is a great life!
Another great video Adam and couldn't agree more about getting out of your comfort zone when traveling. Everyone needs to get out and enjoy all that life has to offer, just my opinion. Cheers 🍻
Solo travel is the best! My first international trip was solo and I love doing it. Japan, for me, was amazing. I've been twice, both on my own. South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand is next. I can't wait!
True been a solo traveler since 2012 love it Eat ,sleep, party, shop, visit, Explore , when YOU want. Use to feel weird going to bar by my self but now i don't care and have meet some good people. When a friend whats to come Holiday I enjoy showing them the good bargains and show them around but still do my own stuff once you have done the tourist stuff you find it boring so i let them do there thing and meet up later for dinner n drinks, Is good having a wing man sometimes in certain Fun areas he can buy the Lady drinks lol .Heaps of people couldn't believe i am by my self when traveling but Love it.Only in China i found a little Isolated but most other countries are so friendly..
ABSOLUTELY the best is solo! To many options, wants and needs the back and fourth…ultimately the trip gets cut in half because of all the back and fourth when in a group. Not to mention I get to do everything I want without having to check in or worry if others are having fun and doing what they want. Not to mention that when you get back home someone in your group coughs up about what didn’t go their way. Sooooo Go Solo!
As an older solo traveler (started in 1984) I appreciate this video. Everything you mention about solo traveling now applied just as well back then. People would see that I was alone and invite me into their world for a little while. Dutch, Germans, Danes, Japanese, Thais, all friends once they realize you are harmless. Also......am I reading that sign correctly at 11:45 ? : )
Hey Adam I'm a subscriber and have been following your video's for a while now , well done so far your really giving it a good go . HOWEVER ITS more you and your great outgoing personality that's keeping me watching and not all about the content . You see I''ve been going to thailand a lot longer than you and many of the other thailand youtubers , really what I'm saying is everything your doing thinking its wild are things that I and many other's of my age (50+) have started or discoverd or found without the benefits of looking it all up on UA-cam before we went . It was exciting ,vibrant and most of all scarey . Places like phi phi in the late 90,s and even early 2000,s had only a few beach huts and no hotels . Koh samui was a few dirt roads with a night club in the jungle and a few scatterd bars,The fun was in finding these places and things that went on . Please go out and vlog about new things we,d never believe and find new places and not the same old same old . I know the people that started going before me were the real adventurers and I only followed on but Thailand was wild back then and one excitingly great place to go , I'm hoping your going to be one of the people who bring thailand back to its hay day (about 15 yrs ago) either way I'll keep watching your channel . P.S. I'd do it myself but I'm 52 now and don't have the fucking energy I had back then . Come on show us old fucks the new thailand 😈😈
I traveled to Cartagena colombia with my girlfriend, we had a great time, months later we broke up and I went back to Cartagena as a solo traveler, It was way better than when I was there with my ex girlfriend, since then I’ve been solo traveling often
Hi, just came across your channel today, and you have inspired me so much .......... i am just going through a break up and hence the business is being sold etc and should be free from everything in January ......... i am well travelled and have discovered the charms and delights of South East Asia before and am putting together a 3 month tour there for Feb next year (hopefully all borders will be open by then) totally on my own with my gopro for some big long awaited ME TIME......... Have you had any any problems with people whilst pointing the camera in public areas on your travels ? take care buddy and thanks
Yeah great to have mates around, especially in a place like Thailand, besides we wouldn't have no one to bullshit with that's for sure. But the best times I had has been living in Vietnam for 2 years by myself, and doing trips around there and Thailand, Malaysia, a little bit and Bali. Just great times always meeting different people and doing spur of the moment things. Been to Europe briefly but changed the ticket back fast it just wasn't as friendly or easygoing as S.E.A. seeya
I think travelling solo depends on a lot of factors. Being male and white maybe some of your experiences will be different in terms of how you’re perceived and welcomed in some countries. For female solo travel, it’s important to consider safety. Money is a big factor too when it comes to solo travellers. Also, as a black traveller, there are countries I’ve visited with friends but due to experiencing racism, I wouldn’t travel to solo. Overall, the world is a big place and mindset and attitude can get you far. I would miss having someone to share things with but one day I might travel alone because I agree that you have more freedom to do different things when you travel solo.
The only overseas place I've been to is Lima, Peru and I've been there 3 times. But every time I'm with my buddy and his wife and her family, who are from there. On my third trip I would start going out by myself at night and I had a blast. I plan on getting to some other countries in the future.
love your insight in Korea especially your lone travelling and dude you look way younger then you say. I give you and Dan a little hard time on your lives but I actually love your vlogs bro. Especially your guys railway drinkups . Keep it 100's my man
I'm planning my first long solo trip of my life to celebrate being clean off heroin got 5 years. I'm gonna be going for at least 2 months I just need to decide on Thailand or Vietnam
I went to Thailand for 3 weeks in 2016 with 3 other people and i was pretty much doing what everyone else wanted to do and it wasn't so great but i went back solo for a month in Nov/Dec 2019 and it was an epic adventure partying and meeting heaps of people in Patong, Koh Samui, Bangkok, Ao Nang Krabi and Koh Phi Phi. planning on doing it again solo soon.
Great vlog Adam and a great subject to cover. First time I went to Thailand was with my mates and I totally agree with you, you end up doing the same thing over and over again plus some people get the hump if you wanna go out and about so I ended up going on my own travelling around northeast Thailand and I had an awesome time
After getting back home from Thailand in 2018, my friends asked me if Thailand was a dangerous place to go to. I went back to Thailand in 2019 for another amazing trip. Some people never travel outside their countries even though they could. They want to feel comfortable where they are. Great video man as always.
!00% agree solo travel is the way. It forces you to communicate with the local people and possibly learning some of the language. It learns you how to be happy to be by yourself which is very easy if in Thailand. I once met a friend from my home town in the Max Muay Thai stadium and we met for a few beers within 2 hours he was driving me mad with his been there wore the t-shirt comments. So I didn't even say goodbye just paid my bin and left. Within minutes of leaving I found myself having a laugh again. I'm getting old I don't think I would have gone on the underground in Korea it looks scary. All the best. Thanks
Great content my man ! Yeah traveling alone is great especialy in thailand but be careful ... you might meet some sharks there (pattaya is very special about this 555) are you planning to live in thailand ? I cant wait to go back there for now im in colombia its also a Nice country where the People are very friendly
I travel by myself often for leisure or go out to a bar. Nothing wrong and you can meet ppl easier. Currently, travel for work and eat by myself so it's normal to me. lol
Solo all the way Have meet so many people I’m still in contact with from all over the world 10+ trips to Asia My spare room has hosted many a travel friend
I agree that solo travel is great. I'm leaving the U.S. in February for a 6-month solo trip to Asia and Europe, and I'm looking forward to it but most of my family & friends think that I'm crazy, and are worried for me.
Adam for most of my trips to Thailand i came with friends and had to play host a good part of the time.. now after 16 years of traveling to Thailand i do not care if anyone wants to come ! usually for a couple of days i am out of sorts because i am so used to more friends around but after that wears off it is a much better time with out the usual suspects.. L.A Rob
Hey,,,i know your video is a year old but enjoyed it. Thinking of going to Bangkok for a month soon. I am from the U.S. and love the women ( at least on the videos) Overall i assume i should definitely go. Whats your opinion
Question: I can see when you’re young that traveling on your own can be fun, as it is likely easier to make friends. But what do think traveling on your own would be like when you’re a little older ?
Great question, but there are plenty of people in every age group traveling solo.. The advantage is, the older you get the better your social skills get, if anything it’s easier 😊
i am 54 , 3yrs ago i solo travelled from Bolivia through Peru Then Colombia , with boat to Panama then Nicuragua and guatamala staying in hostels , 2yrs ago went through Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi , also alone ,, have also travelled through India alone , i find the freedom to do what i want when i want the best , if i find a place i like i will stay longer there and shorter in other places , without pressure from someone else to do what they want
@@Gareths-Travels You sound like the guy I want to become. Only difference, I’m 5 years older, and I don’t necessarily want to, nor have to stay in hostels. Not that I’m aiming for luxury, but rather for clean, quiet comfort. Is there a reason you stayed in hostels, other then money of course ?
yea man don't let society norms pressure you. it's fantastic the single life. not everyone wants to settle with a family including myself. it's becoming more of a new normal. has been slowly getting this way since the 60s. it's your choice. freedom is priceless.
@@Traveljetsetter954 saves alot of money too 😂 average cost to raise a kid through age 17 in the U.S. is $233,610. that's per kid too would be about same in all western nations
Ohhhhh, Cynthia! She’s so cute...and loves her meals. 😁 Can’t wait to see you two together again. I agree about solo travel unless...it’s Cynthia. Haha. Don’t worry Adam. I already have a sweet Thai girlfriend. Haha!
When I’m alone I go into the cheapest mum and pop stores. Also you get to talk to owners who you assume don’t speak English which means you get to talk to new people. I will never go to a premium restaurant alone.
Travelling around countries is best done alone. You make your own decisions, go where you want to when you want. If there's someone with you these decisions can lead to arguments. You will get sick of being with the same person 24/7.
Hearin ya mate. Better your own company than not suitable company. Iv'e been very lucky traveling for years with the lovely. Both outgoing adventurous vibes with same interests, meeting many peeps worldwide. Been asked, but don't travel with others. Cramps our style and need to meet others needs. Selfish maybe. Maybe just meetup's OS for short time.
I agree with you 100% M-8. I always travel solo. You don't want to have to go where others want to go and you can meet people when solo. I would encourage any male to grab a set of balls and "Do It Solo". Just subscribed to Dan the Man, he looks like a cool dude

For real because other people demand attention and you can't give yourself priority

I'm going to Thailand in 5 days to spend my one month holiday "Solo" in there and this video was the best video so far about solo traveling👏🏼
Thanks so much.. Push yourself, you will be soooo thankful!
I’m going solo from November- December. How’d you like it?!
Great video Keis! Totally agree with eating alone! At first it feels weird but shortly after it doesn’t. Thanks again!
"aimlessly walking, see what you see". Best quote of the year! 🤪
I always do solo travel. Always alone but never lonely.
Traveling alone you can do what you want, when you want or you can do absolutely nothing!

I’m a BIG solo traveler as well. I love being able to be spontaneous and change up the day’s plans at any time. Life is also too short to wait for someone to go with you. Couldn’t agree more. The little that I’ve managed to solo travel I’ve loved every bit of it. Being single it’s going to be esier now. 💪
Hi Adam, I traveled around solo when I was in my thirties and really enjoyed it, I know the feeling. Thanks for the video.
That was perfect timing for this topic . I’ll be traveling Bangkok and Pattaya solo in a few weeks. Appreciate the encouragement .
Solo is the only way, do what “you” want and not what others want. Back in Thailand in just over a week, can’t wait 👍🏻
Great videos!!

I cant wait to go back there for now im in colombia its also a Nice country where the People are very friendly
I travel by myself often for leisure or go out to a bar. Nothing wrong and you can meet ppl easier. Currently, travel for work and eat by myself so it's normal to me. lol
Solo all the way
Have meet so many people I’m still in contact with from all over the world 10+ trips to Asia
My spare room has hosted many a travel friend
I agree that solo travel is great. I'm leaving the U.S. in February for a 6-month solo trip to Asia and Europe, and I'm looking forward to it but most of my family & friends think that I'm crazy, and are worried for me.
The Best way for sure to Travel....Totally
Actually...both. I solo, but sometimes find someone to team up with for awhile.
L.A Rob
7:52 Reminds me of all my Thai GF's. Crazy No1. Crazy No2 & Crazy No3.
When he says "I've met people on Tinder all over the world" he means "By world I mean Asia"
@@keisone Thank you. You just made my decision. Thailand, here I come. I’ll be seeing you latest by January of 22. I’m excited !
Dooooooo it!! I promise you won’t regret it.. don’t be afraid to get out of your comfort zone, it’s so rewarding 😊
i am 54 , 3yrs ago i solo travelled from Bolivia through Peru Then Colombia , with boat to Panama then Nicuragua and guatamala staying in hostels , 2yrs ago went through Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi , also alone ,, have also travelled through India alone , i find the freedom to do what i want when i want the best , if i find a place i like i will stay longer there and shorter in other places , without pressure from someone else to do what they want
Im debating on traveling solo to Thailand... im debating. A bit nervous
I agree traveling solo is the best way I always travel solo
@keis one I am traveling solo when I go to the US virgin islands next week
My dream to solo thanks
yea man don't let society norms pressure you. it's fantastic the single life. not everyone wants to settle with a family including myself. it's becoming more of a new normal. has been slowly getting this way since the 60s. it's your choice. freedom is priceless.
I am glad I am not alone in this I don't want the family life I love the single life and the traveling life
@@Traveljetsetter954 saves alot of money too 😂 average cost to raise a kid through age 17 in the U.S. is $233,610. that's per kid too would be about same in all western nations
@@eric1weecw001 yep I do not want kids I am good I love my life style
You should probably go by boat. It's fun, fast, and cheap too.
How many countries have you been to so far………? Is it 20 countries?
Some people can handle solo, but many need company.
Because, never be alone...😁
Ohhhhh, Cynthia! She’s so cute...and loves her meals. 😁 Can’t wait to see you two together again. I agree about solo travel unless...it’s Cynthia. Haha. Don’t worry Adam. I already have a sweet Thai girlfriend. Haha!
Tokyo has dope cafes.
100% get out of your comfort zone to grow peeps 👍
Am thinking about doing my 1st ever solo trip to Thailand next year is there weather decent in may ? lol
Yeah, it will rain a little, but it doesn't rain for long... Just pop into a pub and have a beer when it does ;)
Solo travel is the best
When I’m alone I go into the cheapest mum and pop stores. Also you get to talk to owners who you assume don’t speak English which means you get to talk to new people. I will never go to a premium restaurant alone.
Solo touring is the best
Mahh I'm to socially awkward to go out alone...😔😔
Thats what i like drinkin in a bar you meet new friends specially if theyre all drunk lol
I miss Cynthia :)
Keis whats your thoughts and experiences with korean girls?
Best 😉
I actually talk a little about Korea in my video tonight, but I will do a video talking about dating soon 😊
@@keisone korean girls are among the hottest in the world IMO, but not as easy to chit chat and get close i find as other asian girls.
Koreans are extremely friendly, compared to the Japanese, but Vietnamese are the friendliest, maybe too friendly! 😆
Going solo in two weeks
Adam... what's with the clickbait photo of all the ladies, who never appeared on the video..
Photo from one of my solo trips 😊
I agree with you 100% M-8. I always travel solo. You don't want to have to go where others want to go and you can meet people when solo. I would encourage any male to grab a set of balls and "Do It Solo". Just subscribed to Dan the Man, he looks like a cool dude
