Lofoten Northern Lights

November 29th tour to see the Northern Lights on the Lofoten Islands of Norwary near the town of Svolvaer. This night about 10pm CST, was incredibly snowy and was the make up date from the original date of November 28th. The 28th was snow and clouded out. On the 29th, we were picked up by our guide Jann Engstad and it was cold and snowy. We were told later that this was some of the worst weather that they had seen in years and it had closed the airport -- which never closes. Jann pressed on through white out conditions until we reached a high point and a "go or no go" decision. We sat in the van for 30 minutes and then the clouds opened and the show began. An incredible show for the unitiated. The show lasted for about an hour and the pics are in this video. After the hour the clouds returned as well as the white out but we got what we came for.
