20:03 So much to learn from this part of the interview. I have a 36" Earth gong that this man made. Every time that I watch and rewatch this interview I cherish being able to play his creation.
It gives me great pleasure to see and hear the voice of the man responsible for making my 42" Air Cosmo. Thank you so much Tom and Johannes! I used to just think gongs looked and sounded cool. They are so much more than that. When I opened the box, I was immediately in awe. The gong is stunningly beautiful! However it wasn't until I first struck it that the full realisation of what I had purchased dawned on me. The sound was of course mystical, magical and mysterious! But there was much more than just sound. The feeling was incredible! Like being enveloped in a mother's love in warm sunshine. Truly an enrichment of the entire human experience. As a percussionist with 30 years experience making and playing all kinds of fantastical instruments, I was deeply moved...and totally blissed out!
It is amazing to have masters among us, so young! We are so very lucky he pursued his passion! I have two of these, a 28" and a 36" and cannot go a day without them! they feed my soul, and now my family is getting some healing too 💙💚💛
“It is you that brings out the sound” generally speaking, that’s everything in life. Got our first new to me 24” Nr.4 Gong. It was meant. Thank you for this great interview/insight all together. Have a great rest of the year Sir.

Amazing, thanks for this peek into the whole process and energy. Been playing a Paiste Saturn for some time Now and just now have been opening up to some other unique instruments to strengthen the sonic explorations, looking forward to more Tone of Life soon :)
Thanks for the video and information! I am very happy with my Stardust gong, I wanted a smaller gong to take outside as my Paiste Sun Gong is too big to carry up and down the hill at 38inches. I checked out the Dream Gong too but there was something about the Stardust gong with it deep tone which clinched it. It is also very beautiful! Works well with the Sun gong too!
Earliest notification of the gongs during our last era is dated around 2000 years ago ( Bronze gongs) but Silver Nickel gongs are made just in last century. We talk about data and experience we have access to. Best

TheToneOfLife I live in Canada and am a visual artist , I don’t have any experience with gongs , I am very confused as to what kind to buy and I didn’t realize you could hurt yourself if you don’t use them properly , or am I miss understanding ? Do singing bowls work the same way ?
@@Honeyman126 the sound of the gong does not hurt anyone, only personality of those who claims they are the gong masters that with time turn to gong monsters :) may hurt others but sound it self is pure...

Music therapy existed always in human life. This video is personal story of our gongs experience. And we live now not thousand years ago :)
These gongs existed long before germany.

There appears to be a high incidence of gong makers falling ill and dying while mentally unstable.
Indeed Manfred, we have notice same thing but found some other source of it that is more in human nature :) Warm Regards
