At 1:21 mark, this is the EXACT Breda A650 train (DC Motors). I was riding Cars 529 after CRRC HR4000 left while the older Breda arrives for North Hollywood. Don’t tell me you recorded it without me knowing considering I record the interior in Dec. 20th
I suspect the old cars will remain in service for awhile still. The D Line extension and potential frequency upgrades will make it so they will need both the old and new cars, at least for awhile.
These are a huge improvement, but while this train would've looked good in 2014... it is 2024. This is not a truly modern metro train. These will look super outdated once again and need replacement earlier than other trains of its age used worldwide. If you don't understand what I mean, just compare these trains to the new trains from Sydney Metro, or even the R211s from NYC Subway or 8000 Series on the DC Metro. These look about a decade older than those. At least they have partially open gangways though.
Although I like the new LAMTA cars, up the COAST in San Francisco, BART just overall looks much better...maybe it's because they aren't in that Yellow Color! And, these are more in a "BOXIER" appearance. Hopefully, they'll hold up as long as the earlier fleet of Subway Cars!
Not a fan right now, but it's going to grow on me. The old horn will always be nostalgic
Really wish they program in the old horn, would be a nice tribute
1:42 sounded like nippon sharyo p865
IT DID I'M GLAD SOMEONE ELSE NOTICED
Fr I remember
There only on the D line to Wilshire/Western Station-Union Station soon in the 2028 Olympics they will have the Hyundai Rotem HR500’s
*They're**
@@EMD_F59PHIThanks for my correction
HR5000?!?*
Assuming Hyundai can deliver by then.
Love the Bredas especially the older ones
So how many cars are there in service right now?
4 only
@metrorailinlosangelesprodu4407 Cool! I will be getting on these hopefully next year.
Excellent video. Too bad, LA Metro subway cars. Don't allow a walkthrough from the lead car, to the trailing car from the inside ಠಗಠ.
Thank You!
You are very welcome!
The traction inverter manufacturer of this vehicle is CRRC Times Electric.
The braking propulsion sounds slightly similar to the one of an R211

So they’re partially walk through with two car married pairs??
Yes that’s correct
luckily the Chinesium will be replaced with Korean metal soon enough
How so? Do you think these won’t last?
Supplemented not replaced. But yes, it may become impossible to get parts for the CRRC cars.
2:06 those igbt traction motor phase shift sounds weird as hell
CRRC use weird modulations...
It would be cool if they had the same sound as the breda a650
Yeah I was thinking the same thing
How are these delivered? I’d like to see a video
Coming soon!
Hey, can I grab a screenshot from your video for STTS?
I didn't know that the older subway trains had the famous hoot air whistle like the Pacfic Electric Railway long distance trolleys? 😊
That horn was added to remind of the Pacific Electric Red Cars
@@metrorailinlosangelesprodu4407are there plans to record and port over the original PE horn to the new cars?
@@beyond16bit It is actually a air whistle not a horn. Most trolleys and subway trains had either a air whistle or a horn.
@ ohhh mb! Still feel like that should had been a detail to carry over! Ty for the clarification:)
The new trains are looking good.
What's going to become of the old rail cars? Will they be refurbished and updated to be on par with the HR4000s?

Why do some trains have light grey gangways and others have black gangways? Quality control, eh? Or a test to see which gets dirtier?
all of them have gray gangways
Let me get back on that

who cares what they look like my god
They look pretty alright to me, it doesn't matter anyway as long as they work
The train horn sounds reminds me of the Polar express

No it’s because Bart uses bombardier while LACMTA uses HRRC
B line will have HR5000 in 2027
Only if Hyundai delivers them.
MTA got open Gang Ways now LA Metro has some too and ngl LA metros looks better
You forgot Hawaii's Skyline, that was the first Metro with open gangways. Glad to see LA and other places follow Hawaii's footsteps
@@shanewalters2565 Real
The Rotem Hyundai HR5000 will be in service by 2028.
*Hyundai Rotem**
Was this footage from today? Or Friday?
Friday
Friday . They have completely disappeared from service since then.
R they on the purple and red lines they should be a six car
Metro only runs 6 cars on the Red Line for special events or occasions.
@@metrorailinlosangelesprodu4407Dumb as it causes delays with waiting for passengers to move to the fourth car.
I like the old ones

CRRC trains are garbage. Good Luck with these LA!
