Don't forget these pedals also have midi. You could sequence some of the parameters, or get a controller hooked up to give you better performance. I haven't seen much videos that explore that with pedals like these. Things like the Microcosm or other Chase Bliss pedals probably could have a whole extra creative dimension sequencing them. Would be interesting to see how other people would integrate it to get ideas.
It's so crazy to me that you would record this whole video and completely ignore the sidechain input. It has to be the stand-out feature for this pedal.
Hey Ricky amazing video as always I was wondering what your opinion between the chase bliss clean, and the oto boum is? I‘ve been wanting to buy a pedal compressor for a while and those two stick out to me I just cant make my mind up.. would love a second opinion!! Love from Berlin
I can't pedal yet. I see them and my brain sees the same problem I have with modular. I always know that it would be better with more. This would be worth performing if you chained it to a delay but then you're in the rabbit hole.
I’ve been totally sleeping on compressors. I started using one in my heat +fx and found the same kind of thing happen as I was bringing my tracks back in. Crazy stuff man
Looks like fun. Its in my future list. When you switched it off at 4:50 and say the vibe is gone,,, well on the other hand the low end returned. Tough choice. The vibey version had no low end while the unprocessed kick is round and thumpy. That is a job where a sidechain has to come into play imho
@@i-never-look-at-replies-lol parallel compression will still contain the whole spectrum of frequencies and also will not stop the compressor from being triggered by the low bass. In the new york style parallel they used an eq before the compressor and dipped the mids in a smiley way, exaggerated with the compression and then blend it in, in parallel under the original mix for flavor. Only back then bass music as we know it did not really exist. I many times do not want a compressor to be triggered by a 40hz root note content of a deep kick or subbass as it eats up all headroom and the compressor starts pumping too much which can be nice at times but i prefer to have the choice to avoid it. Not really comparable cause its much more costly but on my xpressor hardwear it has a wonderful SC filter using which you are very flexible. For me personally an SC filter at least for the low end should be standard in any contemporary compressor but i can of course only talk about me.
this is cool, but kinda weird to have the release on a three-setting switch vs a knob. feels like they had one too many things to try to fit into their standard layout format
I really wanted this in my mystery box but ended up with a Lossy. Still want one - although who knows how prices are likely to go by the time I'm ready to grab one with the insanity going on in the US at the moment - but anyway I ain't complaining.
good to know you and your home/studio are safe!

0:12 razor and arp align for total bliss 💋🤌🏻
Interesting effect when it starts to create a completely different groove. Very nice. Bouncy!
Yea that’s how I love using compressors! Corrective and Creative
That shirt, my gawd love it! you have great webstore! gonna place an order soon!
Best compressor of 2015 so far!
imagine how much more refined it will be in 10 years!
2015? Was this made a decade ago?
@@weave_of_kI was just ribbing Ricky for saying “Happy 2015” on video last week.

Informative, thank you for sharing 😎✌️✌️
I love my clean pedal soooo much. Jackpot mystery box tbh ❤
I didn't know you had a kitchen!
He cooks up multiple places
Toilet reveal at 200k subs
That thing sounds rad - surprised to hear so much from a compressor. Super dank vibe.
Right?! I was genuinely surprised too.

i adore my compression pedal

Damn it sounds good. Clean but it knocks

or parallel compression

Seems like everyone got a Clean pedal in those boxes 📦 saw one guy get 2
From the comments, it does seem like a lot of people. But not all. I got a Thermae, which was lucky as it's discontinued (and I already had a Clean.)
I really dig the music on your videos. 🔥
Lucky sod.❤
small digitakt question at 4:42 you unmuted the kick and it waited til the pattern started to bring it in, is that possible on the digitakt 1?
nevermind! found it in a loopop video, not available on the 1, the feature is called prepare mutes
The pressure cooker in the corner under the cupboard? Bro did you shoot the video in my house? Great work as always!
Sweeeet! 👌
Now to get that 3630 going 😈

Oh MAN does that ever slam…
I love watching your videos, but have you been working on the same track for the last 5 years? 😊

insanity is paying for a product when you have no idea what you're going to get.
@ not when you know you’re going to be happy whatever you get
It's the only thing I got in my mystery box. I was bummed. I sold and shipped it within 24 hours.
