    If you are serious about printing, InkjetMall is the one of the best (if not the best) resource available to us. I have been using both their inks and PiezoFlush for years and am completely satisfied . Not to mention the type of assistance they offer with these very well done tutorials. Thank you InkjetMall for all your fine work.

    Long story short, this stuff works! Its basically industrial windex.
    Long version: I acquired a 9600 3 years ago with a clogged megenta. The previous owner left it for 2+ years unused. Im surpised it wasnt ruined. Anyways he ran the cleaner program for a whole 220ml cart and than used windex. Fast forward and i get it with megenta stil half baked. B&W came out with a green tint and yellow was greenish also. I found -5 on the megenta in the drivers worked (mostly) to get ride of the green tint. Than I saw this video about cleaning the print head and decided it was worth $60 to try it out, otherwise the printer was going in the trash. Well.... It worked, whatever was clogged in the head is gone and nothing is green tinted. This stuff is insane, I can see it bubbling and melting the old ink. I didn't believe mine had a metal screen until this stuff took all the caked on ink off. The plastic is also white now. The wiper was even worse. Chunks fall off! Now it looks like a wiper.
    Anyways if your printer is giving you problems, buy this stuff!

    Thank you! That's how I've been cleaning my print heads (two Epson Stylus machines, one R1900 and one 7600). However, I use 70% rubbing alcohol and/or the original Windex glass cleaner. I use these only because I haven't heard of a solution specifically meant for cleaning print heads, that didn't contain mostly one of the those two ingredients, (in the case of Windex, I'm referring to the primary active agent).
    That said, I've recently had a very difficult time trying to clean and unclog the nozzles & print head of my 7600. In fact, I've used the equivalent of two months of my typical printing trying to use the Power Cleaning and regular head cleaning modes along with the technique you've demonstrated here.
    Some of the nozzle check tests would show an improvement, (but very small improvements), and yet others would begin to show the nozzles getting worse. I'm going to try this Piezo cleaner (if I spelled that right), and buy some of the additional accessories to make it a little easier to apply.
    Up until now, this printer has always done a good job but it is a 5 generation printer. The tech is far behind and I'm seriously considering a professionally refurbished 7890 for $2000.00, (comes with 350 ml Epson inks most of which are 40% to 60% full). Thanks again for that video. I know the cleaner will be of great help regardless of whichever printer I use it on.
    Rich

      ammonia cleaners (Windex) should not go near modern Epson print heads. And alcohol dries to quickly... best to use something designed solely for printheads (PiezoFlush).

    • @richp404
      @richp404 7 років тому +1

      Thank you, and yes, I'm going to use the PiezoFlush and try to clear those 7600 nozzles. However, I did wind up purchasing an Epson Stylus Pro 7890 in pristine Condition, (seriously, THAT GOOD!). I bought it from a small certified, printer repair company in Dallas/Fort Worth called "Levi Systems inc.".
      They are a top-shelf tech/repair company and also sell new printers along with used ones if, and when they come upon those that are only in very good aesthetic condition. In addition to the appearance of the ones they consider for reselling, the mechanical condition must be very good as well.
      Even so, they always replace the print head, pumps, cutters and other key parts regardless of condition once they know they have a buyer. Doing that essentially makes the printer every bit as good as a new one. I was impressed all kinds of ways with the unit I got for $1900.00 a few days ago.
      They personally delivered it, set it up on its table, and ran a full nozzle check, head alignment check, etc., etc. Of course, it passed with flying colors, (pardon the pun), and they even gave me a new 350 ml Matte Black ink because the Matte black ink it had in it was nearly empty.
      The remaining cartridges were all 350 ml and at least 40% full! Then they handed me an Epson leather, (or simulated leather), folder which contained two manuals, a quick-reference guide, a DVD with the Drivers, (Firmware was up to date already), and the complete paper-catch basket system!
      Like I said, it was a seriously good deal. I plan to clear the 7600 nozzles and sell it for about $250.00.
      Thanks,
      Rich

    Awesome video. Thank you. Is there a way to move the ink with a syringe? One of my line seems clogged?

    • @Inkjetmall
      @Inkjetmall  2 роки тому

      yes, you can remove the ink line from the ink damper at print head.. Pull the cartridge out of printer so ink in line can travel freely. Use a syringe to pull ink from the cartridge. Replace cartridge and pull fresh ink back into the ink line and reattach to the ink damper. BUT do not use an ink cartridge if the ink is now outdated as you will clear and then reclog after your hard work. When reattaching the ink line to the ink damper only finger tight or you will distort the tube and need to replace the line or the fitting. You might consider putting new fresh ink dampers on the print head if you are going to all this trouble. They should be replaced every few years no matter. Perhaps you can find them on internet somewhere. Epson no longer provides them. But, they are a common size.

    Hey I was wondering if you might be able to help with an issue I'm having with my 9800...it doesn't power on. I know the power supply cord is good because it works on other printers before and after trying it on the 9800. When I plug it into the outlet I can hear a faint noise kind of like a short hum/buzz. It seems to want to power on but fails to do so. I took the back cover off and cleaned off the dust/debris but continues to fail to power on. Anyways I wasn't sure if this was a common issue or not...I can't seem to find anything else online about my issue. I did notice there is a 3v lithium cell battery on one of the boards... wasn't sure if this might be contributing to the problem? Should I try replacing the battery? All wires seem to be secure and no burnt out pieces. I was given the printer from a friend bc they purchased a new one for their business and it was working before I received it. I'm an artist with little to no budget for professional repairs so I'm attempting to repair it myself so I can use it to print my artwork on canvas/fine art papers. Thanks in advance for any advice!

      technically yes. We do not directly support that model because we have not found any refillable carts/chips that function correctly. So we can not support it with PiezoFlush internally to clear out the ink lines and ink exchange unit. But, doing this type of preventative maintenance every six months is a very good plan.

    Hey nice video, do you know how to fix a paper jam error. I have been looking but no paper to see that's jamming....do you have an other solution??

    • @guyteigh3375
      @guyteigh3375 4 роки тому

      I know this is VERY late but in case others are curious, sometimes this is a VERY misleading error code. I have copied and pasted some posts I made years ago in a forum as this did indeed solve the problem. My printer was a different model (9600) but it seems the error codes and causes are pretty much identical.
      ===================================
      It seems that I misunderstood the PAPER JAM notes. As it seemed (to me) reasonable to reckon that a Paper Jam would be to do with paper being fed through the machine - and affecting the LF motor, it is in fact to do with the CR motor. I was reading CR motor and foolishly translating it in my head to the LF motor.
      I am going to have a look now and see if perhaps the guide rails are in need of some "Super Multi Oil, No.32" - hopefully this could be a really simple fix.
      ------------
      A little follow up just in case anyone follows this thread in the future with a similar error.
      After giving the carriage rails a clean (or at least as best as I could without disassembly) using a lint free cloth and some isopropyl alcohol and being surprised at just how black the cloth became, I then repeated the process so the cloth was almost clean - and then applied some synthetic number #32 grade oil.
      To do this properly, you are supposed to dismantle the right hand side covers and although it is only supposed to be a 20-30 minute job, I am not someone who always manages to reassemble things as easily as I take them apart - so found that I could do the nearest rail (top and bottom) fairly easily and the rear rail underside too. A little bit of electrical sleeving later I managed to make a small "crook" shape and could dispense dots of oil along the top of the rear rail too.
      Gently took the carriage (printer off) from one side to the other several times and THOUGHT it seemed smoother - but was aware that that may have just been wishful thinking.
      checked to make sure there was no surplus oil dripping anywhere, loaded up some ultra cheapo paper and made an image which had a thin bar at each end of the paper, lied to the printer that it was photo paper and set the highest resolution, high speed off and made it print. It used only about 10p worth of paper, perhaps 1p worth of ink, but had the carriage rattling backwards and forwards for about 20 minutes.
      At the risk of tempting fate, the "Paper Jam" error is no more.
      I *did* worry that had found a new problem later though - when I had some ink blobs appear on a printout - but once I had set the platen gap to wide (I was printing heavyweight polyester banner), the problem stopped.
      It has been something of a labour of love with this printer BUT I can see why it has so many enthusiasts. Amazing quality prints and (paper jam errors now sorted) appears to be very reliable.
      Going to get some custom profiles done I think for the Inkteck powerchrome ink for use with banner paper and Xatvia Matte. Not sure how much difference it will make but might as well get things as close as I can
      ===================
      Touch wood - it has not failed since. Great machines but a bit tetchy from time to time.

    • @Inkjetmall

      It is not a good idea to run 10 or more paired powerful cleanings as that generates too much energy to the print head and can burn it out. Better to install the PiezoFlush using a cartridge to that particular clogged channel using the INIT FILL operation. Then letting it sit for 48 hours and repeating the INIT FILL to pull out any of the softened materials.

    • @Inkjetmall
      @Inkjetmall  2 роки тому

      could be as simple as a dirty paper sensor that can not "see" the sheet. You can download the Field Service Manual for your printer at 2manuals.com and on other places on the web - and you will see in the diagrams where the sensors are located and you can see if they are covered in paper lint. Yes. We make a video on how to clean 7900/9900 printers and the P6000 uses the exact same print head. What is behind the print head is a little different. So how to clean the bottom of the print head is the same, and how we clean the inside of the print head, ink selector unit and ink lines with a refillable cartridge filled with PiezoFlush is the same as one would do with a 7900/9900. And really it is about the same as with the 7800- 9880 printers. Not that much has changed from model to model with the exception of the a new coating in the print heads.

    I bought this printer ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxciSwynMJ7PnUvvx11rewiu-yFBkZTl53 to replace an aging HP printer. It is just used for casual home printing so I don't need anything more. Installation went easily though the HP Smart Printing doesn't work well with our laptops - having to select the actual device. Will have to see how the HP Instant Ink program works out. Plus haven't been able to set up printing from smartphone yet - either direct or WiFi

    Hi, I have an ultrachrome 9600 we changed the printhead, and after the plotter does not want to charge the ink, we made the initial charge (pressing feed paper up and down & enter ) then into the cleaning menu, and order the ink charge but we can watch ink does not run through the tubes, can you help me please ?

      do not tighten the ink tubes too tightly onto the ink dampers (you should have put new dampers). If you tighten too tightly it will pinch the small rubber oring and it will cut off ink supply to head. Make sure your capping station is clean so it can provide suction. Do you know if your capping station pump is faulty? Are the cartridges that you are using fully primed with ink?
