Man, going to high school in the late 90s, this was the dream. When the 2000Si came out, it was an answer to what so many wanted, but man those were hard to get. Still hard to get one clean these days

As a current FA owner and former EG owner, the late 90's early 2000's chassis were just built different lol. My EG had a B18C1 (USDM GS-R swap) and it PULLED with acoustics unmatched by cars worth 4-5x times more. Glad to see you appreciate what you've built!

Our build is going slow because work is booming, and winter is here. Very cool. Also Hasport offers different levels of motor mounts. We added mounts to our build that is not annoying yet firm. Love your seats too

You should try taking out the A pillar trim piece and putting some dynamat on the backside of the plastic and on the metal, it should hopefully reduce the vibrations enough to make it not audible
Damn how i wish i did not scrap my em1 coupe,i had it for 13years miss it very much now,i was thinking of a b18 swap,but due to work commitment i did not have time,my11year old son loved that car,he was crying the day i scrapped it. nice clean car man.
That honda motorsport heritage sounds truly intoxicating above 8.5k rpm. Non honda owners, (honda beater owners) will never understand. It'll always be "only a civic" to them. Amazing build. *Regarding camber, I run -2.8f, about -2r. That's about where civics like it at.

Nice. I also have 2000 civic si with only 49k original miles. Right now im swapping for a GSR turbo build for up to 700hp rebuild. And have turbo right now. So just waiting a week more to drive this thing😬
That is a Beautiful EM1. Hats off to you for keeping the B Series. It's still a great engine. I know the K24 can do 275whp but the ultimate engine at the time was the JDM Type R swap, so I understand why you went that route. I had a nice EG Civic Hatchback with the same B18C with LSD trans swap and very similar mods and power, almost 210 to the wheels and something like 160lb/ft of Tq, or maybe 170lb/ft? The block was sleeved and bored over to 85.5mm and it had a block guard and a different crank with more stroke, so it was closer to a 2.0L engine. I kept and took good care of and loved that car for over 10 years, and it did feel pretty quick. It was no V8 torque monster, but at 2200lbs, 207whp and 160lb/ft or 170lb/ft of torque definitely felt much better than any B16 or B17 I've ever felt. The only stronger N/A engine I think I've felt from the B Series was a really well built B20 Vtec with lots of good work done and 220whp. Not positive what the Tq was, but I think I remember it being 180ish? Wasn't my car, but it was in an EM1 like yours, and it felt like a good strong engine for that car.
Damn.. This type of car really needs some winding roads and not straights like this. I can tell you that this type of setup in a short mountain road could match any very expensive sport car because this chassi + suspension geometry is so good!! Nice video Mat
So awesome! The VTEC sounds are making me miss driving my 98 ITR. Agree that Spoon or Ohlins coilovers would have done the job nicely. Personally I would run stock motor mounts unless you are tracking. ITR steering rack would complete the car but otherwise this is the lil Honda Bros dream.
I use to have an 2000 Integra gsr with the jdm b18c type r swapped and it was a fun, exciting, spirited car to drive compared to my Fa5, even though my Fa5 was faster with it's bolt on and tune it didn't drive as spirited and violent like the B series

Yea you can. I've got a B18c CRX with a violent crossover, and K series DC5, and the crossover is the same, its explosive on both of them. I think its down to how its tuned
I'll have to admit, the b series sounds better then the k series. I enjoy the horsepower/availability more then just sound, so I went K series. B series sound FTW!

Man, i can feel the comment about the brakes lol..i have an EK4 and doing all the work to switch the master cylinder is just too goddamn expensive here (switzerland). It's funny how much better my EJ9 brakes bite than the ones of the EK4 (even though i have EBC pads / discs on it with steelflex brakehoses).

A properly tuned EF/EG/EK/DC is really a surpising driving experience for those who aren’t biased. It’s a shame there are so many clapped out Hondas out there to tarnish the image.
I once drove my friends beat to shit single cam eg that ran like shit and it was still fun af to me running through the gears. And I was driving a modded C5 at the time. They’re truly something special

I just love and appreciate the OE+ set up. The VTEC engagement reminds me of my 2007 Acura TSX every time I drive it. So good.

Could look into hardrace motor mounts. Harden rubber so less vibrations but still more solid than stock mounts

How did you keep the rpm tack working once you did the swap? I swapped mine and my rpm tack doesn’t work when I have the p28 plugged in

Switch the rear mount from poly aftermarket to an OEM rubber and you'll kill a lot of those vibrations.
I did it the opposite way round 😆 I left rear polybushed and two front ones with new oem rubber ones, good combination I found.
