I can tell I've been in church choir too long. You started playing "O Come All Ye Faithful" and I started singing the Latin lyrics! 😂 ("Adeste Fideles")
Silent night is even older than 1833. First performance was in 1818 and it had a nice story about it: “Silent Night was first performed in the St. Nikolaus Church in Oberndorf (near Salzburg) on Christmas Day 1818. The text had already been written by Mohr in 1816, but on Christmas Eve 1818 Mohr asked Gruber to write a melody and a guitar accompaniment. make with the text. What constitutes a guitar accompaniment remains unclear to this day. The most common explanation was that the church's organ was broken, according to one popular version because mice had eaten the bellows. But Mohr simply wanted a different-sounding song.” (Source: Dutch Wikipedia)
Hey mate, just want to congratulate you on such stellar musicianship, skill and talent!! As a newly trained classical vocalist, I can comprehend how much time you must have invested in training your craft in your instrument !!! Kudos!!!!!
Christmas season for brass players is the best! I love playing all these Christmas carols in public but my lips get so tired after a while XD (I play the 1st cornet)
Great playing! Would've loved to see the song: god rest ye marry gentlemen. I learned that one this year for our band concert, and I think it sounds really cool. In any, you sound incredible!
Qué video tan grato y la música hermosa! Gracias por tu trabajo, tocas magistralmente la trompeta. Felices fiestas a ti y a los que pasan por tu video.
@@howtubeableChristmas was about Jesus initially then de-evolved into songs about Santa, reindeer, snow, bells, trees-anything to take the focus off the real reason. After the 1800s it looks like we had to wait til 1991 for Mary Did You Know. I’m ok with some secular music like Sleigh Ride and We Wish You A Merry Christmas, but all you hear played these days in stores and most festivities are the secular songs. Jesus is too offensive I guess.
I bought two Christmas books to learn for Christmas this year. Traditional songs arranged for intermediate players. Both were recommended by my teacher. I am 74. I don’t really like how they are arranged. They don’t sound quite right, especially the left hand part. I want them to sound the way they do in my head from when I grew up in the fifties.
Some missing popular Christmas carols and songs: - From Starry Skies Thou Comest, 1732. - Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, 1739. - The First Noel, 1823. - Angels We Have Heard On High (Gloria in excelsis Deo), 1842. - The Little Drummer Boy, 1941. - Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, 1949.
Great video! I love how you incorporated the sheet music along. I got my braces on a month ago and my range used to be Low C - High C, and now it’s odd. I can play Low C to Middle C fine, I start struggling with D, then E is tough. F and G are extremely hard to play now, but I can somehow play High A - High C and sometimes High D. I am really upset that I have to wear them until October…, do you have any tips? I would hate to play like this for another 11 months. Thanks!
I also have braces and I can play up to a high c. I would recommend to just keep playing to get used to the feel and then try and practice with people better than you
yeah i just recently got my braces off. the best thing you can do is just push through and keep playing. if you tell the orthodontist you’re struggling to play your instrument they can give you this stuff that you put in your mouth in front of your braces to keep you from ripping up the inside of your lip trying to play. the part i struggled a lot when i got mine off bc i had gotten used to them and my embouchure felt like loose if that makes sense. i found that wearing my retainers while i played somewhat helped fill in that gap where my braces used to be and i slowly stopped having to wear them as much till now i only have to wear them at night. hope this helps you lol, i wish somebody had told me sooner about some of this information:)
@@ness_no_entiende thanks, that helps a lot. i get my braces off next october, so i will still be in them for a while. i do have to wear retainers after braces so my embouchure may slightly change, but probably not too dramatic. i remember without braces how great my range was. somehow i played up to High E-F today. my range is a lot worse, but i can play really high notes. i dont know if its because ive practiced a lot or what
I think you should have done a longer rendition of Silent Night. Was the tune/words for What Child Is This really written in 1865? I thought it was older than that.
Originally Santa Claus was green, then, it is said, he turned red with the help of Coca Cola... it was nice to dress green and then red. very good compliments.
Now you can play it for Santa and get a good gift from him! ..but you also have to subscribe!! 🎁

Old Christmas carols were much nicer than modern Christmas songs.
classical christmas music is the most wonderful music on earth, to me that is.
Yes they were
Yup
LAAST CHRISTMAS

me too
Hi from France. Same here 😅
Honestly, me too 😆
Honestly, I still tend to sing "Stille Nacht" instead of "Silent Night."
This should be normal😉for the most western christian
Hey! I'm playing the trumpet myself and I know exactly how hard it is to get such a clear sound, so props on you and keep playing🎺🎉
I play the clarinet but have tried my moms old trumpet and my friends. My face was the definition of red after doing a concert Bb scale
@@RyanYT231Me play clarinet too. Me is bad on it.

How wonderful Christmas songs! ever since a ancient times❤
Excelente histórico!!!!! Parabéns!!!! Apesar das transformações ainda aprecio muito mais as do século XIX e início do XX.
Obrigado! :)
There's also Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker. There are some good pieces in that one.
Спасибо за Ваш труд 👏
I love that you added the sheet music! 😃

Beautiful music...love from Indonesia
2:50 carol of the bell (originally Ukrainian Shchedryk) from 1920...
Only us 1780s kids remember how overplayed that one was at Walmart.
Great!
Thanks from italy
Enjoy!
I like the sound that this trumpeter produces. I believe that the melody we know of Greensleeves was first performed in or around 1580
Díky!

The musics before 50's are so much better
I agree. In the mid-20th-century, Christmas music hit the skids in a flaming pile of crap.

I disagree as a clarinet player but it’s nice being able to read trumpet music because it is in Bb
