Good Luck, Claudia. When your business takes off and you leave UC behind, please always remember how benefits was a struggle and always stick up for other claimants who aren't joined up enough to become self employed. ❤ 👍
💯 One of the most difficult lessons I had to learn in life is to discriminate more! No one has my trust inmediately. You have to earn it! I hate it because goes completely against my nature but my own method did not work.
Whilst I was an unpaid family carer 24/7 I had little choice but to get UC top up in my £70 carers allowance... Surviving on approx £400 a month. Not paying family carers a proper wage actually sends many of us into poverty dire straights (nothing to do with the pop band) but seriously I want to campaign for the plight of the unpaid family carer... because why should people who need support and care be shipped into the profit driven private care agency business model ... agencies are not always the answer. Family carers are totally not respected by government - in my humble opinion
The system is designed to demoralise everyone, especially those who try to make a living for themselves. I ended my uc claim this month because I just couldn’t deal with it anymore. I feel your pain, Claudia. There are many reasons why we work for ourselves and yes, you are right, we don’t all have someone to fall back on.
Ive noticed that since they said i was deemed fit for work they deem to be giving me more and more things to do. Im feeling so tired at the moment. I hope you can survive without them. I totally understand the stress your going through
Thanks for this update. I’m a new subscriber and have really appreciated your UC video vlogs. I think that if you don’t hit the minimum income floor as a self employed person then my understanding is you would be expected to find additional work. I’m not a benefits officer so could be way off beam but this is my understanding. I am a disabled person being transferred over but due to additional complex medical issues my GP has now signed me off from my self employed crafting/PA work as I’m unable to even manage the prescribed 16 hours a week. I don’t know how we will fair but thank God we don’t have a mortgage or rent to pay. I hope you will be ok 🙂
Hope it goes well. I had mine yesterday and got told I have to try and get hold of bank statements and payslips going right back to 2020, even though I don't get payslips from my 2nd job, 😂
You can still claim uc if you have less than 16k in savings/capital, it's just that you will pay an income tariff on anything over 6k. I think it's £4.35 for every £250 over 6k. And you get nil uc if your earnings are less than £1500 MIF
I do amazon flex and do alright out of it but that's because i'll do vehicle maintenance myself. I'm earning about £13 an hour on average after fuel and insurance but before vehicle maintenance... Doing the work myself i reckon i need to save £100 a month.
The Work Coaches simple go off a sheet on their screen with how things happen...They are not trained in this topic! Earnings need to be reported if self-employed as do savings. Then your UC is worked out as from that!

It seems to me ,the more honest you are in life , the more people step on you .

I’m in the exact situation, on top of deductions of to the tune of £8,000 over six years , some of which they had mistaken but not rectified :(
Can you claim Carer's allowance?

For people on UC who are freelance, they chuck you out if you have 2 'good' months. Shocking...
Impossible to live with minimum wage. End of. Especially in London.
Demand for housing etc pushes prices up, even nurses and doctors have to live outside London and commute

Why would you get no universal credit if you don't make the full MIF? wouldn't they just ask you to find employment
@@SS-hl6utyes they would.

Yes I used to do amazon flex, I can still do it my app still working even though I've not done a shift in a year. Much better than ubereats
Good luck have a call with them on 15 was meant to be going in on 19th self employed migration

Does the start up year mean as long as your situation is the same when migrate you get the same amount as previously
I am going to do a deep dive in to the figures, but I have been getting more on UC than I was pre the migration.
Interesting
😂
