I think he is saying the "per round key" which refers to one of the sixteen 48-bit keys that is derived from the original 56 bit key and used once per round.

the key is not 48 bits w/ 8 bit parity check.... its 56 w/ parity check. so total of 64....
The key used in every round/iteration is 48 bits.
