Remember when my family traveled to the other side of the planet to for the Florida theme park trip. My dad was wholly uninterested the entire time. Except for Star Tours and The Simpsons ride. Man just kept going back and we found a souvenir photo of him on the Simpsons ride, without the rest of us. I love that under that gruffness he puts out, he's a nerdy little goober that loves Simpsons, Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. So its sad that it's all gone so bad for those things he enjoyed.
I didn’t enjoy the Simpsons until I was much older, but this ride has a special place spot in my heart. I grew up in the 2000’s, so the Simpsons ride has always been somewhat nostalgic for me. I also enjoy playing the carnival games and winning the Simpsons plushies. I have a Mr Teeny plush that I won and absolutely adore. It’s a shame that Simpsons will go away from Universal eventually, so I’m trying to enjoy it all while I can.
I dragged my mom and brother on that ride last year cause I've just never been on it beforehand and I wanted to try it out, neither have they. While in the line my mom goes, oh so is this like the Back to the Future ride. Knowing it used the same building and ride system I just went and assumed, "ye". I also never went on that when it was open, it closed when I was 7 and never even went to Universal till I was 16. When we got off, my mom was like, "your a Goddamn liar, that was so freaking rough" and I'm like, "ma I literally have nevee been on either ride. Plus the ride system we were on is old as hell". To make matters more awkward, the people in front of us, also happened to be a group of people who tried to shoplift at a store I worked at about four years prior, that we called the cops on. I recognized them in like 4 seconds and I was praying to God they did not recognize me.
Am I the only person that likes this ride? Like I think it's pretty funny, has two fun preshows, and I feel like the ride vehicle movement works well with the screen. I don't get very sick, but an easy way to avoid it for me is to sway my body with the ride vehicle's movement so it feels like I'm actually going through what's happening on the screen.
i’ve always had a soft spot for this ride and i’m not ashamed to admit it🙈🙈 6:49 i have a feeling that simpsons was next on universal’s chopping block but rip ride rockit was moved ahead of it which is fair
I was devastated as a kid when BTTF ride closed, but honestly simpsons ride was solid and krustyland is a great addition to the park. It would be a huge loss to remove that area. The Simpsons although not as popular as they used to be, are an iconic brand. But yes, why tf is it so dull and dim now?
I frequently go to Universal with my best friend and we speculate about what should replace the Simpsons IP and we both agree that if the Pokemon rumors are true, it would be a gold mine akin to Harry Potter. BTTF/The Simpsons ride feels archaic at this point. It's time to put it out of its misery. What could go there is anybody's guess. I mean, with Pokemon the sky's the limit. You could put in a water ride with Gyrados and Lapras. You could have a flying ride with Zapdos or Ho Oh. You could have a Rayquaza roller coaster. I would also re-theme MIB and include it in the Pokemon world, and scrap Worlds Fair altogether. As much as I love MIB, the IP is long in the tooth and stagnant. That ride seems to still be in decent working order, and perhaps you could update it with AR and have a Pokemon Snap ride. Refurbish the towers out front into a gym. And the merch... Think of the merch. And food is a huge part of the show, so themed restaurants would be a given. But if they touch ET I will riot.
Well in terms of food and restaurants, wonder how they gonna retheme Krusty Burher into a Pokémon themed burger Joint, since we don’t know what kind of Pokémon is used for beef in that Universe.
4:26 Honestly it’s such a massive shame that the World Expo section of the park was so butchered after the opening of Springfield, and it’s even worse looking now after they closed the Fear Factor show! 😭 Yeah, while I know it wasn’t that popular at all anymore and was tied to a long gone tv show, it at least brought SOME sense of activity to the area, so MIB didn’t feel as ‘isolated’ in regards to both it’s area theming and foot traffic from guests. At this point they should really remove the World Expo area name from the park map, since having a SINGLE attraction and a empty show stage that is now only used seasonally for HHN, is such a pathetic excuse for a keeping a name in a so-called ‘themed’ area in the park 😕 Who knows, maybe World Expo will bounce back after the removal of Springfield (as some other IP is gonna take up that space again lol), but I still won’t be surprised if World Expo’s theming is still left to rot for years to come
I notcied the projections being dim last time I road it, I wondered what happened in the year or 2 between riding, when it was still bright & colorful, almost a year later and I wonder how it looks now
I think the only reason it got the ride was because of the movie.

I was so sad when they announced that they were shutting it down. I’ve always wanted to ride it.

I despise the Simpsons ride because the 3D dome thing makes me feel violently ill but I really enjoy the themed area
I love this ride 😭

Went here for one of my childhood birthdays. Ima cry
I can’t fucking believe they did this in the first place 😂😂
If the Simpsons ride closes were there be a backlash similar to when BTTF and MuppetVision 3D closes.
