And not just the hair color, they share a lot of features!
I had this same thought. Though, Max is a little more moody.
Which means season 4 may be hard 😢

I totally agree, making Billy the villain was super smart. I swear Dacre Montgomery (Billy) is such a brilliant actor.
I often identify with Max and El the most but Will is a solid third, and this episode is a good example. When you go through something so traumatic at a young age, your brain essentially freezes in time until it comes out of survival mode, however long that may take. You stay stuck in the moment of the trauma, trying to get back to the place you were before it all happened (which sometimes never happens). Will lost a year at least (possibly two if he's struggled this much the past year as well), he wants it back, he wants his childhood back, he wants his innocence back, while his friends have continued to grow and progress like (relatively) normal teenagers. The scene where he starts calling himself stupid and destroys Castle Byers always makes me cry because I've felt that so many times over the last 20 years watching my friends seem to move through life so much easier than me while I constantly lag behind and feel like I'm more of a hindrance or embarrassment to my loved ones than like I'm really a part of their circle

You said what most people can’t really say through words. I also feel that way as someone who was SA’d and 🍇 as a child. I never really knew how to explain the feeling (and when I try ppl usually say I’m just being immature/childish-but it isn’t their fault. My family and parents don’t know anything that happened to me bc I’m not ready to tell them, so they just think I’m being stupid), but since I was sexually abused throughout my toddler and pre-teen hood, I feel stuck. I feel as though I haven’t aged the way other people my age have. Like, I’m now 17 and my friends are getting into relationships and doing a bunch of stuff that I just can’t do. But as I watch them experience those things, I feel like I’m missing out on them and feel like I’m being left behind. I’m 17, but I still feel like I’m 13, I feel like I haven’t aged mentally since that age and I don’t think I ever will. Even when I try so hard to do the stuff my friends are doing, I just can’t. And then I get so angry with myself because I’m the one that’s preventing it, I’m the one backing down.

The scene with Will just wanting to play D&D and hang out in the basement like they used to, while his friends are hung up on girls and being a jerk to him, really hits me in the heart because I was like Will. We don't all mature at the same pace. I was still enjoying playing with toys when the others started having crushes and were all about looks and make up.
(That I then took the fastlane and overtook them all at 14 when my parents were killed, is a completely different story.)
I had experiences with other boys..ended up getting a crush on a girl, but..probably should’ve stuck w the boys, I think my life would’ve been very different, maybe better, but society still doesn’t especially at that time look kindly on same sex relationships..
Same but different for me. This is happening in the summer between middle school and high school for them. For me, my friends all went into high school the same dorky fun goofy nerds but by the time Christmas rolled around, I don’t know what happened in the new year but things started to change quick for all of us. 3 of us moved away and the remaining 4 all found their separate group of friends that peaked their interest more. One went to play for the basketball team and only hang with basketball players, one stayed a YuGioh card trading nerd and hung with those guys, one hung with girls more and turns out he was gay and DL so I’m sure he just started to relate to their energy more, and finally I started hanging with more movie, tv, comic book lovers which was still nerdy but more mature. By the end of our freshman year, none of us were friends and it was kinda sad but we all at least had new friend group and no one was left behind solo like I’m sure Will feels.

I feel bad for Will because his development was clearly stunted by the last two years and he can't find anyone who wants to play DnD right now. But he has to know that he can't force his friends to do something they've repeatedly declined to do and expect them to have a good attitude about it. They just don't want to play.

Same here. I mean, I kind of understand Mike being angry when Will called El a "stupid girl", and also Will shouldn't try to force people to play; but S3 Mike does make me miss S1 Mike.
@@BenBanjo87 to be fair I got the impression that will had been treated like this all summer although I’m not very mad at Mike and Lucas for teasing him as it does look ridiculous but they should of showed some interest I’m not entirely on wills side but much more than anyone else in this scene

I get why Will is upset that his friends weren't taking the D&D game seriously, but honestly it's his own fault. He KNOWS they are very distracted, he KNOWS they have other things on their minds, he KNOWS they don't really want to play, but he kept pushing them and pushing them and pushing them to play with him and they finally said yes just for his sake even though they weren't into it, then he expects them all to just act like they're having the time of their lives when they are currently in emotional turmoil inside and gets angry at them?
I'm sorry Will, but you are in the wrong here. Growing up is hard, friends drifting apart because they have new and different interests is hard, but that's part of life. You can't just scream at them and demand that they never change or grow as people just because you want everything to stay like when you were 10 years old for your entire life.
Will has been through a lot, but they're still spending time with him, still looking out for him, and they would literally die for him as they risk their lives for him frequently. They don't owe him anything and are giving him a LOT. It's not right for him to take out his issues on them. Yes Will had it hard being abducted by a monster, but they had it hard too avoid being murdered by the US government and monsters numerous times. He wasn't the only one in danger. And unlike Will who didn't have a choice, they CHOSE to risk their lives FOR HIM. And yet he still is angry at them for wanting to grow up and have other interests that don't always involve him.
I know they're all kids and none of them really know how to deal yet, but Will is being selfish.
Um have you seen S4? Because what's going on with Will is more than just being childish or selfish, which becomes abundantly clear later on...
You’re right but Will is very valid in his feels because yes, this is apart of growing up and people grow at different paces, BUT he clearly has a lot more going on inside with the traumatic year and a half that he’s lost at a PIVOTAL part of a child’s life. Not to mention other things going on with him that he can’t fully grasp. But no spoilers. Next season.
