It isn't the brands but the products almost all hair companies make that are "Additives", they are the pigments of pure color to be added to hair dyes and most are universal and can be used with other companies...their numbers are generally 00/44 for a red, and then there are additives that neutralize orange or yellow..and some companies just call the additives by the color in the tube and skip the numbers such as Red or Blue...
You CANNOT mix ammonia/peroxide based dye's with ammonia free/vegan dyes. You may put a vegan semi-permanent dye over already dyed hair for a more intense color effect. Such as Vampire red over a Pravana 5.66 intense red...or their 7.62 which is a brighter red.

I recently dyed my hair a brown-ish red colour (a very dark shade of red velvet because my school doesn't allow unnatural hair colours) but the colour was dark enough so I didn't have to bleach my natural colour which is a dark ash brown with natural ginger highlights and a faded caramel ombre back from when ombre was popular. Anyway, I got it done professionally but the color faded quite quickly (after about 3 weeks it looked brown with red undertones instead of red with brown undertones) so I ''refreshed it'' with manic panic vampire red and it looks really good!!! No bleach was used during the whole process, my natural curled hair looks very healthy, the manic panic dye is vegan, and the colour simply looks blinding!

i have naturally dark hair but dyed it and had lots of colors, but then when i used the hicolor for dark hair my hair was bleached and it made it the perfect red. like rihanna demi red.. way better then any colors ive used, so if your hair is bleach blonde you can still use the hi color red for dark hair only, becuz i have done it. and it works great!

I've always wanted to dye my hair red but I'm scared of the damage and any cases of my hair flattening (even though it's thick). A friend said that it's also very hard to remove red dye and takes alot more maintaining. Is it worth the first time dying my hair?
Aurelye venegas it's SUPER hard to get out, I dyed mine once and it stayed in for over a year until I dyed it black
you'd have to keep re-dying it in order to keep the vibrant color or it turns a weird brassy orange color
Daddy Aurelye I couldn't get it out of my hair. I cut my hair into a pixie cut when it grew out enough. But mine never needed maintenance. I only dyed my roots. I had bright red hair for three years.

Just mix semi permanent hair dye in your color depositing conditioner & it will never fade. Been bright red for almost a year & my hair has never faded. IF YOU DECIDE TO HAVE RED HAIR , IT WILL BE EVERYWHERE IN YOUR SHOWER. FYI!!

I have natural dark blond hair and I've got the same red velvet color with Syoss Rouge tinted balm. It's not permanent, so it washes away quickly, but at least it was cheap and easy to apply. Though, I guess, the result will depend heavily on the color you're starting with.

Hunter Dickson it’s actually not that expensive! The dye is 5 bucks and the shampoo and conditioner is a little pricey but all good things for you are not cheap.

It is very likely you can achieve this color without bleach. There are a lot of great red dyes that give you quite a bit of lift. ❤ I have very dark hair and have used the loreal hicolor with very good results.
You can also use Arctic fox red and use their black
