honestly, it's pretty bad LOL. I haven't been able to study chinese in awhile because of PhD. I'm just getting back into it now, but studying the chinese show Link Click (which I highly recommend). but I've definitely regressed in the last year l o l.
It'd be cool if you make a video that relates to neuroscience and how it relates to language. My friend since she started learning Japanese said she felt like she was developing another persona/personality!
I'm definitely planning on making a video about that! requires me looking into another field though, so I'm gonna take some time to look at the literature and get accurate information! my plan is to make neuroscience videos about various aspects of language learning!
honestly, I have very little time to study chinese, so my level has definitely regressed LOL. trying to pick it back up now! what questions do you have about dementia? maybe I'll make a video about it!
@bianca.phdinprogress its been 9 months. Good to see yoi back. I see you are doing a PhD Excuse me, my english is not good My question is, we have been researching a cure for dementia for years and still have no success. What are your thoughts on the conspiracy theories that say that a cure is deliberately being delayed for years so the billions of dollars of business can be run as why would anybody spend money if its cured onec and for all As far as i know demantia is a complex possess so "cure" might not be an appropriate word choice
sorry I haven't posted .-. learning mandarin has been really hard while trying to work on my PhD. I'm going to start posting regularly again, but I'm shifting to videos about graduate school and higher education (since I have very little time to learn languages l o l). I have a post on my community tab explaining it in more detail! hope you still stick around :)
My mom is such a coffee fan, I showed her this video and fell in love with your content as well but she particularly got amazed by that fellow stagg and she is so decided to buy it hehe, tysm for bringing more content and motivation!
Thank you for all your tips. I am going to be using the HSK 1 standard test to structure my grammar and dialogue readings, I plan to use anki for flash cards, and I’m curious if you know much about pimsleur!? I have been using the hello Chinese app to work on pronunciation but curious which would be best for nailing down correct pronunciation and reinforcing speaking/listening.
I haven't used pimsleur but I have heard good things about it, for the romance languages at least. unsure about its useful for mandarin. here's a great video about someone who uses it regularly though! ua-cam.com/video/t-V-MT6IHto/v-deo.html
Oh wow you're at Columbia! I was just taking a walk on that campus last week (I've lived near it for nearly 7 years now). Small world! Good luck with your PhD studies and thanks for sharing. EDIT: I cheated and looked up "dimples = alcohol nests", so I don't qualify to answer the question 😆
Hi, Happy New Year! You haven't posted recently, but I wanted to tell you that my Chinese learning journey has become more effective lately. How about you? You are always so hardworking...
that's so amazing!!!! really happy to hear that :) hoping for more great learning in this upcoming year! sorry I haven't been posting in awhile .-. I haven't had time to seriously study chinese because of my PhD. I just posted on my community tab explaining the fully story, but I'll start posting regularly again! it'll just be videos about graduate school since I have very little time to learn chinese right now. hope you still stick around :)
@@bianca.phdinprogress I will. I remember my PhD - it was the best and the worst in one. And honestly I feel a little bit lonely in my languages learning journey so I need UA-cam to find people who love that as much as I do.
I learned a bit of Japanese for a vacation I took last year, but the different alphabets actually killed me. I may have gripes about chinese, but man, do I appreciate characters when looking at all the japanese alphabets HAHA. I understand everything in Romanian, but my speaking has a HUGE American accent LOL. I also have a more limited vocabulary, since I went to school in America. I never learned the sophisticated and specialized vocabulaty in Romanian that enable you to sound eloquent.
@@bianca.phdinprogress La multi ani ! I hope you have a good start of 2024 and hopefully the entire year will be good. I stopped the japanese lessons for a while - even though after over 20 years of watching animes I understand at least 50-60% japanese. I can also read katakana and hiragana ( although much slower now). I'm glad you didn't forget romanian. For some reason I see more and more people interesting learning it. Which is cool.
it's hard to forget when my parent's speak Romanian! although I will say that I'm not the most eloquent and mess up grammar pretty frequently HAHA@@Jin.Sensei
l o l the pattern is do I have time, which usually is nope. LOL. Also, it's hard to make videos on a language learning channel when you barely have time to learn a language riperoni. I'll be posting regularly now so take a watch! I'm shifting gears to content on my PhD and graduate school in general though, because it'll help me upload regularly.
HSK7-HSK9 are technically the "last levels". when you take the HSK3.0 exam, you just take the advanced exam, and based on how well you do, you'll be graded either HSK7, 8, or 9.
kek did you see the little Easter egg? I'm taking a quick stab at it since I'm taking a trip to Japan in a few months! videos will be coming out about that sometime in may!
@@bianca.phdinprogress yeah, I noticed. :-) I had to double check to see if my eyes å were deceiving me though. As a Japanese learner myself m, I’m looking forward to hearing about your progress :-)
