In this video I will show you how to replace the cabin filter on this 2013 Ford Edge.All the Ford Edges from 2007-2017 are the same procedure.

I am glad that you put up this video on replacing the cabin filter on the Ford Edge. I have a 2007 Ford Escape and have never changed it, but want to do it. The vehicle have only had regular maintenance done on it since owning it. I remember you telling me that of the three vehicles I have this is the only one which have the filter in it. I have just got my Ford Explorer repaired and a new fuel pump and filter installed in it. To make sure it was done correctly, I let a garage change that for me. Thanks!! Midas wanted to charge me $100+tax to replace the cabin & engine air filters when on Amazon the filters are about $10 each and this is sooo easy I can try it myself!
That little tab has to fit not only in the hole in the glove box but there is a slotted track on the outside of the box it has to fit into as well. mine was a 2015 Lincoln MKX.

Your title states 2007-2017 not all the year models are the same. Very poor instructions and video. Not helpful at all.

The little 'Pin' on the left side of the glove box was the most difficult part for me! The Pin is attached to a retractable (spring loaded) cable. The pin fits into a keyhole on the side of the glove box. Note the back side of the pin has a trapezoid shaped mounting plate that fits into a slotted track, on the outside of the box. It is IMPORTANT to orient the plate when you re-install the pin. Also note you must pull the cable out about an inch to get it in. It's a tight fit, but there's just enough room to get your hand above the box to hold on to the cable while you re-install the pin. Hope this helps someone!

My 2016 Edge is different with 7 fasteners to deal with: 1) the side arm retainer is stiff plastic and on the right, 2) & 3) box drops down after you push in two bendable tabs along the top edge. Push them both at the same time. 4) & 5) are two difficult-to-access Phillips screws. The heads will be facing you near where the tabs are. Use a magnetic driver so they don't fall. Now for the difficult part. 6) & 7) About 1/4" away from the just-removed screws are two clip-tabs you push out, one at a time. Be careful because these snap easily. Then the drawer face drops down and you can remove/replace the filter. The airflow arrow points down.
Thank you for this. We have a 2015 Edge that uses the same procedure in your directions. I would only add that the two clips you speak about are on the side of where the screws are. Not the tabs at the top of the filter door

looked to see if my filter needed changing, and there is no plastic piece in front of it, when we pulled down the glove box you cn see the filter, nothing in front of it. I have not done any maintenance to this 2007 Edge, all has been done by the dealership I purchased the car from. do you think they forgot to replace this piece?

I used to pay the dealer $30 to do this!! I ordered the filter online for $11 and did it myself in less than 10 min. I also found the dealer had put it in the wrong way. They put it in vertically and the end was bunched up and smashed against the little door. So not only was I paying almost 3 times more, I wasn’t even getting the maximum benefit of the filter. I will never trust the dealer again, what hacks.
NO 2016 is different!! Careful you dont break tabs if you are feeling around how to take the drawer face cover.
