  • Lagos holds records in Africa when it comes to infrastructure like the third mainland bridge which is the longest bridge in West Africa, there are several other bridges, But in this video, we will explore how the first stable link bridge (Lekki - Ikoyi) was constructed by Julius Berger
Lekki - Ikoyi link bridge represents west Africa’ first cable stayed link bridge embedded in Lagos lagoon, it is now seen as a new land megalopolis a sign of development, growth, and progress in Lagos Nigeria
the cost of this construction was 29,000,000,000 i.e 725million dollar. the plan to recover this fund was to charge a toll fee from users of this bridge starting from 300 Naira for salon cars
There is a toll gate almost at the tail end of the bridge called the admiralty circle toll plaza. It is roughly estimated that the Admiralty Circle Toll Plaza yields an average of N30m per day, 81k which if continued for thirty years from 2012, will translate into N330bn. 825m dollars This is excluding other revenues accruing from advertisements and consent.
