@@adamdezsi yea mine has exactly same issue as understanding as car is now 20 years old so about time little price of plastic breaks thanks mate have good day
Worst case scenario try to unscrew the whole plastic housing that holds the license lights, and find the ball end of the wire that goes into your lock mechanism. Grab a pair of pliers and tug on it. Good luck 🤙
Unfortunately I'm not too familiar with the E convertible but since they're otherwise very similar I'd think they share a lot of elements and design cues.
mine don’t make any noise at all but the car to dead to start is that why it won’t open because it’s to dead everything els work except the automatic window blinds
Weird that the blinds are working, but yes I'd definitely try putting her on a charger. If you can't get power to the car you could *theoretically* unscrew the licence plate lights and their plastic frame, unhook the ball-end of the opener wire and give it a good tug. Best of luck!
Well if the trunk is beyond salvageable I've seen rear-ended junkyard cars with the trunk being cut around the lock mechanism with a saw. Not pretty, but if there's no other way... If the locking latch is warped that may be your only option. Might be worth asking a locksmith.
What's the exact error message? Could be boot lid or trunk which would be two different things, not sure if the UK version says boot instead of trunk. Either way I suspect a microswitch.
I have been experiencing the same issue since my bootlid actuator went bust. Always a red light on the bootlid button in the cockpit even though it's frmly closed.
Did you get rear ended? Sounds like the lock mechanism is seized. You could try taking off the plastic with the license plate lights and try to open the lock with the wire that's now exposed.
Perfect! Was exactly my problem; the gear had both tabs snapped off.
Thank you!
Shot brother just saved my life !!!! Great video solved all my problems!!!
Hell yeah man, glad to hear that!!! 💪

The seatbelt extenders and the rear window regulators eventually get there too, same plastic gear-type problem. Those are a lot more hands on to fix 😂
I love it, not too much just perfect. Lesson to learn.
Maybe does not have any movement in the latch at all like no power is going to it. I was thinking it might be the micro switch.
Thank you very much, well done
Thanks for watching! :)
Our 2019 Mercedes C300 has no trunk lock cylinder, so how do I open it when the FOB will not open it or the trunk latch inside does not work either.

Is there a button in glove compartment for benz e550 convertible

Thank !!
You're welcome!
What if f battery is dead and keyts don't work
Have you tried unlocking with the metal keyblade from inside the fob? If that doesn't work I'm afraid a locksmith is next :/
hi the key broke off while trying to open it. Any advice?
Unscrew the licence plate light assembly and you'll be able to tug on the wire

What do you do when the trunk does not lock?
Good question Renee! Do you hear any noise from the trunk at all when you're trying to lock it?
Mine didn’t open even with the metal key 😢
I'm so sorry to hear that! Was the car in an accident? A bent body panel would explain this.
What if trunk was hit and it won't open with the key

Why does dashboard say boot is open when it is latched Ok (w209)

@@adamdezsi I think Boot & Trunk are the same thing.
I think Bonnet is their word for Hood. Maybe that's what ur thinking of.

I seem to remember the word boot being used for the tonneau cover that reveals the roof, and trunk for trunk - hence the confusion.
I’m my case it won’t stay close 😭
That's interesting! Could it be the same gear that's broken? Do you hear that whirring sound when you lock?
Even w the manual key . It is not opening. Not that easy...
