I''d also like to ride around the suburbs and usually the speed limit is around 45, so I just want to know if shit is also capable
The grom is great in the city but if you have to do frequent 60+mph zones, that's when it's no longer fun. It's just a good hoon around bike that gets good gas mileage. Easy to learn how to stunt on them too. So it's purely dependent on how you want to ride it. 🤙

Hi, question for you. I have installed a big bore kit with ecu flashed by DHM. I for some reason cant even get up to 62mph. I ran it for like 9k miles with the stock crank and rod. SF cranks do have a defect that can happen to them but it can happen even with it all stock. OG cranks are better for this reason but I had zero issues until I cracked the cylinder wall
I no longer have the 186 kit. It cracked the cylinder wall after about 8k miles. For how big the kit was and without any other supporting mods I’d say that it was pretty dang reliable but I can’t afford to do a TB 186 top end every year 😅 right now I’m stock bore with a TB cam and CJR ECU reflash.
@@Delinquentsm thanks for your answer man i want to make something like that but colour full with a grom because i only have a kawasaki kx 450 f supermoto it has a pro stunt setup so a grom with same setup would be crazy🤤

I don't get it, I have a stock motor with ixil exhaust and a stock intake mod... 14 front and 36 rear sprocket, and I hit 73mph on my bike. For whatever reason my bike is faster than all my friends and it's a nearly stock '19.
The 186cc kit would have had a higher top speed if I lived at a lower elevation and had a different sprocket setup. At 4700ft engines lose a ton of power.
@@Delinquentsm it rode the same in CA as it does here in the Bitterroot valley which is a difference of 3200' where as you're only 1500' higher than where I live. Not sure what you're gearing is but mine is way down on speed from stock gears. Also I am in no way trying to be negative, I just genuinely don't understand why my bike seems to ride so much faster than everyone else's lol
Check out the kitaco clutch cover. Sight glass to check oil so cage won't blockdipstick, removes spinner from crank for quicker revs and replaceable oil filter. And chuck some stiffer clutch springs at it while cover is off...
I have a zabfab takagawa modified oil pump. It works alright but I like the hose location on the straight up pumps more so eventually I'll be switching.
I thought about getting the kitaco clutch cover, but worried removing that rotating mass would hinder my low rpm wheelies since it would be easier to mouse trap without that extra mass keeping the engine spinning. I already have 6 SMR 60% clutch springs and plate installed since my clutch was slipping with my big bore kit 👌
I just went to Seattle over this last weekend and did 68 with stunt sprockets and Tv cam and reflash. Elevation makes a big difference. At home I cant even do 60 sitting upright with the same setup.
About as fast as my old Suzuki K50 moped with 100cc less 😜 They should've made it a 2 stroke instead but I guess the climate-talibans put a stop to that.
Visibility to other motorists, especially since our riding season is only about 7 months out of the year. They get used to not seeing motorcyclists around and then all of a sudden they are everywhere and they don’t look for something small in their mirrors. I have a big supermoto now and don’t ride with my high beams on now cause the headlight is so tall it blinds without high beams. Also the stock Grom headlight isn’t the best.
@@Delinquentsm Alright, makes sense. I commute on a OG Grom and during this time of the year it's pretty much dark all the time when going to work or going back home. So far (knock on wood) I haven't encountered dangerous situations where people didn't see me. I usually just leave low beams on.
If I lived in a state where I could ride year round, I’d not worry about it at all. I studded some tires to ride on the ice to work a few years back but I worried about cars and trucks taking me out not even thinking I’d be out there 😂
That is mostly to do with my elevation. I rode the bike in Vegas in October and it performed way better. I only was able to hit 73 with my Grom while people that live at sea level are getting to the low 80s with the same kit.

It’s called “gps speedometer and odometer” by driving made fun on the iOS and android app stores.
34mm tb an ported head from dhm thing would scoot out well shit gets spendy fast
Yes it does 🥵🤑
What sub-cage on ur grom?
I'm currently using a Zeus Armour GK edition
@@Delinquentsm If you drop it, does it also protect the handlebars? I'm planning to learn how to lean at the extreme for good cornering - I guess it will slip out of me a few times :)
The handle bars are part of my crash protection. I use bar end sliders so none of my paint touches the ground when the bike falls over.
@@Delinquentsm Thanks, new to this - it gives me an idea of what I need to do to my bike ;)
I’m 15 don’t know really anything about motorcycles but I’m trying to get mine to do 74 how’d he get his to get up to 74?
With the reflashed ecu, the rev limit is raised just a little bit so it makes the top speed just a little higher
@@Delinquentsm when I finally save up enough for a grom would u or anyone in the comments help me install the parts I’ll pay for em but I don’t really know nun about it
Do you have stock sprockets?
Never mind. I just heard my answer on the video. I asked too soon
Lol yeah 15/34 in that video but nowadays I'm running 14/37 so it's easier to learn circle wheelies.
Saw 74mph damn dude that’s awesome👍
I just recently 300cc swapped it and now it's NUTS 🤣
@@Delinquentsm How was that, I am looking to do the same man. Need the info brotha! Make a video of it!! I subbed.
The new 23/24 groms can get up to 70 mph I wonder how much faster they will go with that kit
what type of paint did you use? looks sweet!!
It's just automotive paint I had a buddy spray on there. It's a color code from a Subaru 🤙
Are you in Cali?
We are located in Eastern Idaho living at a pretty high elevation.
@@Delinquentsm sweet it’s amazing there! Gooniez has some sweet meets were I am
I'm trying to make some changes so that we can do more traveling to more meets for 2022! We would love to go to some cali Gooniez rides 🤙
Where did you get the prefilter from
I ordered the intake, filter, prefilter, and rod in an all in one package from drow sports
Hey what is a good setup for stunt on a 186!
Like sprocket sizes? I like 14/34 a lot with it but if you do more high speed riding stock is best.
@@Delinquentsm what was your average speed between both of those and how was the wheelie difference
Like 65-70. Depends on your elevation too
How do the Groms ride on the highway? Are they smooth or do they feel like you are cheating death?
Cruising at 60 they feel surprisingly stable. Even at 70 it's not bad at all. Last night we accidentally got on a small section of freeway in Vegas and it was a 70mph zone and we all did just fine.
@@Delinquentsm very cool! I've been thinking about getting one. They luck like a ton of fun. I'm a new rider.
@@mikeb3711 they are a great bike to learn on/ a fun bike to mess around on for experienced riders!
@@Delinquentsm awesome!! Its between a Grom, Lifan KP mini or a Vader 125.
@@mikeb3711 I've only rode a Grom, z125, and tao tao hellcat so idk how those other ones are. The tao tao was way slow compared to the Grom though but my buddy got it for a little less than $1000 used
Can U still stunt it after going back to the stock motor? That's the REAL question!🤪
I have a all stock Grom that I use for stunts nowadays so yeah 🤣
I counted a 4 second gap between the dhm 186 grom and the dhm flashed/cammed grom 😱
That extra displacement makes a huge difference throughout the whole rpm range 💪
Gromerman I’m hoping DHM has the 186 bbk on sale this coming Black Friday! 👀😬🛵
Is your 186 grom still running well?
Yep! No issues at all. I do regular oil changes at 1000 miles and I keep an eye on the temperatures when I'm riding. Hey I hope he does have it on sale for you, that would make it even more worth it.🤙
I get 118km at 9000rpm on 2020 ,airbox 15 /38,no other mods,,siting up and thats it,,and its still a grom ,,
how’s the dhm kit after a few years now any issues ?
It’s gone. Cracked the sleeve after about 7500 miles. Now I’m stock bore with the tb cam and cjr reflashed ECU
How'd you crack the sleeve?
Not sure they why, I just went and started it one morning and it was making awful noise. It’s an aluminum cylinder so I’m guessing all the heat cycles just paid its toll on the material.
@Delinquentsm oof. Ya I was thinking a bbk for stunting but now im like ehh maybe I'll just do piston/cam/tune
I had incredible success and reliability with an intake/cam/exhaust/tune. I really beat on it with super long rev limiter coasters all the time.
hey i just also finished up my install of my dhm kit, i was wondering what spark plug did you use and what did you gap it at?
I went with a CPR7EA-9, I left it with the stock gap. I couldn't find any info on if I should gap it different. Runs great to this day though, I've put about 7300 miles on the DHM 186 kit now
@@Delinquentsm thanks man i cant find much info either, also when you meant stock gap, as in what it came in the package? or did u gap it to stock grom recommended gap?
I left the gap alone
Hows it holding up?
It's been holding up great so far, 8000 miles on the big bore kit. 11000 on the bike total.
Last time I did a full tuck, my ole lady yelled at me
🤣🤣🤣
How is the gas mileage with new kit?
It was always sub 100 miles per gallon after the kit. Around 80-90 if I recall correctly.
I want to know more about that protaper pad on your handlebars 🫠
Just stickers on the Protaper bar pad cover
Stock crank and rod?
Yep! I recently swapped over to a 300 swap
@@Delinquentsm Does original crank and rod work fine with the kit?
I ran it for like 9k miles with the stock crank and rod. SF cranks do have a defect that can happen to them but it can happen even with it all stock. OG cranks are better for this reason but I had zero issues until I cracked the cylinder wall
@@Delinquentsm how did that happen?
@@Delinquentsm was it from WOT?
Do you still have this setup currently ? Is it reliable
Where can i get graphics like that?
It's just a bunch of small stickers. I bought black and white ahegao stickers from a few different online sticker shops.
@@Delinquentsm thanks for your answer man i want to make something like that but colour full with a grom because i only have a kawasaki kx 450 f supermoto it has a pro stunt setup so a grom with same setup would be crazy🤤
Great video, how’s the reliability since it was installed?
It did about 9500 miles of riding and stunting before it cracked the sleeve
@@Delinquentsm do you think it was do to the hard riding/stunting?
@evan cobbs more than likely. Tons of heat and then cooling over and over with something made from aluminum. It was bound to happen eventually.
@@Delinquentsm how bad was the fix?
It was about $270 for a new top end rebuild. Had to replace the piston, rings, and cylinder. It was just as hard to fix it as it was to install it in the first place.
😅 Thats with a 180BBK?! My 2020 will hit that with yoshi k&n intake and stage 1 tune!! no bbk
4700ft elevation will do that. At sea level it was much faster
@@Delinquentsm I constantly ride in the Smokies and the Dragon some at over 6000ft..No issues
Take it down to sea level and it will feel like a rocket. My stock bore grom had higher top speed down in Seattle vs my 186cc where I live in idaho. Thinner air=less power
how much do u weigh
In this video I was about 135lbs. I'm about 160 now 🤣
@@Delinquentsm I just bought this kit, I weight 230 lol
The torque is the main selling point of this kit. So I think you will like it 🤙
Dear God... I had hoped that's what it ran like stock! They need to make these in a 250.
Yeah the altitude I live at also doesn't help. If I were closer to sea level it would be quite a bit faster.
@@Delinquentsm Oh I'm sorry, perhaps I missed it, but what is the altitude there?
We are at ~4700ft
@@Delinquentsm Damn yeah that'll do it. Yeah it would probably rip then at sea level. I'm only at 150-200ft and I can remember driving through Denever CO, wondering why my truck felt so slow. Then I remembered I was at 5200ft elevation. And when I went up in the mountains at 12,000ft, I had NO power. So, turbo kit next? Lol. Forced induction does combat elevation a lot better than n/a power though. Thanks for responding, good luck with the channel.
Thanks! 👍
only think i dont liek is that high front wheel fender. i have seen better high options.
Sick
WTF! That’s a Toys R Us! They have been closed for several years now!
Correct, the video is also several years old
I’m stock grom only intake and Exhaust and I’m topping out 74mph on freeway lol how’s this big bore only doing so much ? I thought it be hitting 80-90mph atleast dam
As stated in the video, altitude is the biggest factor. 4700ft above sea level your engine makes much less power
Do you have a straight up oil pump?
Where did you get your graphics
It's a bunch of hentai drift slaps I bought off of a few different accounts on Instagram.
Gromerman you mind linking me the Instagrams
@@ILLJumPgameing @ahegao_stickers, @mindsetue, and @stickershock.online are the only ones I can remember rn but that should be most of what I had.

I got them from a friend sometime last year, I think he just had them made at a local sticker shop 🤙
What did your stock MPG go down to?
Stock MPG was around 115-120, after the big bore it does about 95-105 mpg
@@Delinquentsm Oh nice that's awesome
I’m hitting 74 with just a tune and intake
I just went to Seattle over this last weekend and did 68 with stunt sprockets and Tv cam and reflash. Elevation makes a big difference. At home I cant even do 60 sitting upright with the same setup.
@@Delinquentsm I hit 74 fully tucked and about 65 up right
What's your elevation?
@@Delinquentsm what do you mean like was I going down hill? No I was on a bridge It was flat grown
No like, how many feet above sea level are you?😂
That can't be right. I just went 115 kmph on a stock 2014 GROM.
Elevation=less power
About as fast as my old Suzuki K50 moped with 100cc less 😜
They should've made it a 2 stroke instead but I guess the climate-talibans put a stop to that.
Dig the grey but uhh... The nude anime girls... Like bruh....
To each their own 🤷♂️
I wonder why literally every American leaves their high beam on while riding... In every Grom video in the USA you ride with high beams on. Why???
I studded some tires to ride on the ice to work a few years back but I worried about cars and trucks taking me out not even thinking I’d be out there 😂
@@Delinquentsm 😂😂 Yeah when the temps drop below freezing I wouldn't risk riding, way too dangerous
Dad
Son
Sounds like its bogging
That is mostly to do with my elevation. I rode the bike in Vegas in October and it performed way better. I only was able to hit 73 with my Grom while people that live at sea level are getting to the low 80s with the same kit.
@@Delinquentsm I'd try to up the airflow, if my grommie sounded like it was bogging I'd be banging my head 😂 cool mods tho, I'll probably big bore mine soon and get a pcv. I'm trying to wheelie but things haven't quite stuck with me yet.
Good video, I like it! BUT.......You never said........HOW MUCH! LoL!
I can't remember how much the kit is right off the top of my head, I think for everything you need you are looking at about $800-900 with exhaust and intake and everything.
Still looks super slow sadly
It is slow for sure, I wouldn't consider it fast by any means but compared to a stock grom its "fast">
For 150$ you get about 14hp so for 650 you get another 2hp
@@NoGoodGarage how do you get 14hp for $150
brandon chandler you can’t lol
Yo Mamma dhm cam and tune lol.
