The low angle shot of the Javelin (I think?) emerging from the clouds was beautiful. Something you'd see in a top tier sci-fi movie.

@@Tr2w In engine, but not in game, likely. Most relatively modern engines can handle some very pretty visuals, even in real time, well beyond what they could handle in game. Stuff gets a lot more taxing when you're able to actually interact with it, and you need a bunch of rules for how they should interact, instead of a static set of actions.

@@TheRealCLASIX With all due respect, you evidently have no idea how much money is in the gaming industry to begin with if you think one game development studio (with a global workforce spread across five studios, working on the development of an *entire 3D game engine,* as well as 2 entire AAA games) with less than a billion dollars in working capital is impressive or unusual relative to any other studio. Most AAA game companies are multi-billion dollar enterprises with billions in annual revenue. CIG frankly doesn't have a massive amount of funding, it's no more significant than the funds any other studio of comparable size would have. The only real difference is *the source* of CIG's funding, and, therefore, the only material difference is in who CIG has to be responsible to: the playerbase, rather than investors.
Which is to say, CIG is responsible to all of you, instead of *just* to people like *me.*
Considering that, I doubt their marketing team is asking for unusual/larger than normal raises. Yet. 😉
PS: Thank you, though. The fact I actually can't buy CIG stock even if I wanted to means I don't have any vested financial interest in the products (short-term, investment returning) profitability, so I'm free to patiently wait the necessary ~5 more years for both products to be released at the level of quality I've subscribed & paid CIG for. (And, yes, development probably will take another ~3 years for both games to reach a viable beta phase. If CIG was a publicly traded company, right about now is when they'd actually announce the existence of SQ42 and SC and start doing marketing materials to the actual consumer base, whose timeframes are always even shorter than Wall Streets, somehow.)
The mark,eting Director is sleeping with the Chairman (pretty sure the MD isn't concerned about a raise.) Also have you seen the massive contrsuction for the - YET AGAIN - multiple new office buildings somehow CiG is wasting money on instead of development.
@@RosscoAW They have massive money to spend on new offices every 2-3 years. And someone needs to beat the sentiment that "CiG is responsible to all of you" into the decision makers (cough-bed sheets-cough) ... seems like their spending priorities are NOT relevant to the actual core game development but more to the tune of "since we just generated extra cash fromt eh suc... I mean backers ... let's move to new offices and waste more money ... and waste development time on getting bed sheets just perfect ... because nothing says immersion like bed sheets do." Frak CiGs marketing group.

SQ42 is an entire playable cinematic experience with motion captured Hollywood actors and a diegetic interactive/immersive environment. Which is to say, after they release SQ42 and are working on the sequels, I expect their marketing teams to have more than sufficient scale and funding to be releasing animated shorts (like the Star Wars-esque-y short film(s) we got for the MSR when it dropped) on a more routine basis. If they wanted to do a legit 3D CGI movie using their engine, assets, and universe, that would be *lit asf* though, I agree. That'd be awesome.

The Warhammer Javelin Destroyer coming through the clouds! Glad to see that cloud tech aspect coming to fruition. Thanks Chris for being uncompromising about that. Looks just as cool as one might have imagined. Well done to those who made it happen.

I'm shedding tears because of how beautiful the CGI is.
In-game engine, this is a way to show their progress in elements( water, ice and clouds so far), so hoping these improvements get placed in-game soon. I think it will happen in 4.0

What's your game called?
My first experience with SC - loads in Orison, 23FPS... 2560 x 1440p low, medium, high - turn every filter off - it doesn't matter. 16GB RAM + 16GB Page file, PCIe3 SSD, RTX 3060 maxP, Ryzen 5800H... Oh and crashed pretty quickly LOL. Ummm hey CIG, not great. I was excited to play and fork out some cash after Invictus, been watching Morphologis, Olli43, LevelCap and a bunch of others.
Dammit. So good.
