  • Wine investments have beaten stock returns with a 13% annualized return but these wines have returned even more! Get started investing in fine wine with Vinovest mystockmarketb...
Just like stocks, pick the right wines and you could be floored by the returns rather than the alcohol content. In this video, I’ll reveal five wine investments with amazing returns including one with a 4,900% return. I’ll share why I’m investing in wine and how to pick the best bottles.
But why even invest in wine at all? Not only has the price of fine wines beaten stocks with an annualized 13% over the last 20 years but you get so much more than just the price return.
From learning about different regions where wine is grown even down to the best years for each, this goes way beyond an investment return.
The downside to wine investing, similar to other alternative investments, is that costs will be higher than other types of investments. While an investment in a bottle of wine might cost less than $20, you’ll need to store it within the right range of temperatures and at the right level of humidity. You’ll also need to insure your wine investments against damage or theft.
It’s really why the annual fee of 2.25% to 2.85% on Vinovest doesn’t seem as high as you might think when you consider it stores and insures your wine professionally. Beyond storage and insurance, you get expert pricing as well as other benefits like a portfolio review and access to rare wines.
I also want to also share four key factors to picking wine investments, four things to watch for to buy the best bottle!
First is the producers of the wine, there are just some vintners recognized as producing the best wines like Chateau Cheval Blanc and Chateau Angelus with its history stretching back all the way to 1782.
If you’re investing yourself and taking possession, you’ll also want to make sure you get proof of authenticity …not just to prove to yourself but if you later sell the bottle.
Get to know the different regions for wine . Not only is this immersion learning one of the benefits to wine investing but can also improve your returns. It’s just a fact that some regions like the Bordeaux in France are known for the best returns in the market.
You also want to get to know which years are considered the best for the regions and vintners . Besides environmental events that can make for a particularly good year for a region, the age of a bottle is going to be important for how long you hold it before resell.

Returns aside, having a lot of fun researching and learning about wine investing. ❓ What investments outside of stocks have you made where you enjoyed learning about the investment?

Been slowly getting into whiskey and rum as well as wine. I feel like quality rum is where single malt whiskey was about 15 years ago, slowly expanding into collector's editions but not hit the mainstream yet.

I am an investor of Vinovest. I am glad you introduced its platform. So far, I am pretty happy with my experience and investment performance. It is wise to have a fine wine investment in my total assets portfolio. And this company is California, USA based, NOT like others in the UK or European Countries, which gives me a peace of mind. Thank!

I’ve just started collecting. My great grandparents on my fathers side were Portuguese from the Azores. So I’m a bit biased. My very young collection is of vintage Porto wines. Though not for everyone, We love Porto wine!!

An investment in wine, would definitely be a sign that the investor will recline and lavishly dine, on the richest, choicest delicacies that will leave you on Cloud Nine!
So cling to the vine, "the grapes that intertwine" and sign on the dotted line and lay the cash on the line and hope your investment will climb, so you may resign!
For in the final analysis, your investment strategy and your motto must be: "We will sell no Wine before it's time!"
Wherefore, I wish you all the success in your new enterprise.. *but* in the event that you should misjudge in your affairs and lose your peace of mind; remember these words of wisdom: *"To error is human, but to forgive is Divine!"*

Thanks for talking slower and quieter. I really like all your videos on investing, and consider you one of the very best. First, with your high level of expertise, a true CFP, and the detail of research you invest into each. It first, I had to scale back watching your videos, just because of the pace and intensity. But now they are much better. Thank you again

I invested a lot in wine, and the company I used went bust. I lost half my money. You, however, hit on the key. Invest in blue-chip wines only. I invested a lot in the Australian icon - Grange, and they all made money. Some bottles I purchased way back when they sold for $20.00 are now worth thousands. The non-Grange wines - glug glug. If I just stayed with Grange I would have done great.
