If your a player who likes to keep builders working 24/7, a couple of levels would come in handy. Having a builder finish while asleep, you can lose hours of builder time and that can add up to alot of time lost. With the apprentice builder you could manage that issue.

One detail you missed, you CANNOT get the builder's apprentice from day 1. It is "unlocked" on th10, so your best case scenario numbers are already quite generous
True…this is essentially best case scenario. I wanted to be fair and present what a player could save in time if they went their full clash upgrade experience with the BA. But most players are closer to that halfway number I presented.
I 100% agreed with you but I just realised something, while it is true that it takes 3years and 4 months to max the structures, it also takes 4 years to max the heros. So the total time on which this apprentice will work is around 7 years ? That would mean that the lab isn't the bottleneck when it comes to maxing a base, and would greatly increase the apprentice's value. Although whatever the case it's still only 2.5 days off of progress per year (if you have 6 builders), per BA upgrade, and that's assuming you keep to a schedul to put him to work every day at the right time.
Yeah if you buy him and use him for 3 years then his value is realized. It just takes a really long time for it to make sense. He’s not worthless just not very useful for how much he costs in the beginning.
So I have kind of a unique situation. I’m a F2P and I am a maxed TH16. I have a stockpile of 16,000 gems, and play regularly. I know if I max the apprentice, I’ll use him efficiently, but I just have a hard time spending that many gems. If I do it though, it’s obviously to use on future TH upgrades. Not sure if it’s worth it in that situation.
Yeah dude I stockpiled over 14000 as well and i just got BA. After a year i know im gonna profit time wise in it and i still have over 8k that i will again build up. With that being said it also feels good knowing i can reduce building time by 8 hours in practice. O would recommend getting the apprentice if you have the gems because even tho it hurts to see the stockpile go down the ability to speed up feels good too
Same here I have around 10k but I believe the smartest choice for us is waiting for either next townhall or if supercell lowers the price since there is pushback on the price. Seems like people who even have enough don’t think it’s worth it.
That's insane I always assume I was the only one that has been stock piling gems around 16k since I began playing in 2014...I maxed out the BA and I regret spending the gems, also as F2P as well never really spend money on the game
Fresh outlook on the topic looking at total maxing time. However, in 3 years there will be atleast th17 and th18 released. Then, the apprentice builder's value will accrue.
So Monish is right and you’re right. The builders apprentice value gets better over time but honestly it’s a long long long time. If you keep him going for a total of 3 years or so then you’ve realized your value and he is worth buying.

Gem mine lvl 10 is 5 gems per day so 100 days for 500 gems, you can just wait and slowly get the builder apprentice as a free 2 play player. But it hurts our capability to buy skins for gems so we will spend money for the skins or spend money for the builder, smart supercell. But as a f2p player I think it's good to have that option aviable and it's a permanent upgrade.
I don’t think it’s horrible to have in the game for sure. I just wish it was a bit lower cost for the minimal value it’s offering. And man those skins can be OP right? Haha
Hey, I encountered a bug with this apprentice builder.I upgraded and maxed it two days ago and it was supposed to save 8 hours, but when I checked my upgrade time, it only saved 2 hours. Today, I found out that when I quit the game, it doesn't save any time at all.
That sucks. I do know if there are less than 8 hours left on an upgrade then those hours are just lost. If you’re having other issues then Supercell support would be the best place to ask those questions.
How about in the long run and future update? still pass on builder apprentice? Buying for 50$ builder apprentice for lifetime access vs. buying something for 50$ for completing some 14 days time.
You have to decide what’s most important to you. If you are going to play the game for years and years and years then it’s hard to argue for anything other than the BA.
I’m a th15 , half way maxed. I got lvl 1 builder apprentice just to have it because I had enough gems . I’ll upgrade it as I get the the remaining 1000 gem achievements , definitely not using money on it though
I’m not sure if it can upgrade walls or not. Ultimately level 1 is the most efficient level as the cost per hour only increases from there. I have bought the $3 deal on 2 of my accounts just because it’s pretty break even at least at that price vs 500 gems but I won’t be upgrading it at all. Whether or not you’d like to do the same is up to you! 🙂
This is actually what I did 😂 The first level at 500 gems was essentially break even imo but then they offered it for $3 in the cash shop and that broke me 😭 So I bought it on 4 of my accounts 😂 I’m REALLY hoping that they let us upgrade one wall piece or pull up one obstacle per day with it actually. I would actually recommend people buy it for that perk as that can help with overflowing storage or grabbing a gem box.

Your 365 days of time saved is not the complete story. That’s only on one builder when there are 6 builders. So you’re not saving a year of build time. Because there are 6 builders you’re only saving 60 days of build time at the end because there are 6 builders and not just 1 builder which is what you’re running your calculation on.
If you collect every obstacle in your home village and builder base and have a maxed out gem mine, you will get on average 17 gems a day (6,205 a year) not accounting for achievements, boosting gem mine with clock tower, or other means of acquiring gems.
It would have to boost 24 hours every day (so basically same as an extra builder) for me to consider it. At least at that point, you would be halving build times of the buildings.
You have to remember that those days saved at the end after you are maxed is the total saved for 6 builders. So if you’re looking at it from an individual builder’s standpoint it’s 60 days saved x’s 6 builders that are just sitting around after we’re max which using your individual builder metric is 360 days or 120 days per year. So your number is right in that the builders apprentice can complete 120 days per year of building, its only on one building and not 6 buildings. At the very end when we are max we will finish 60 days earlier with the BA and with 6 builders. Another way to think of it is the BA can complete 5.5% of what 6 builders can accomplish as each builder is completing 16.6% of the whole during those 3 years. If we multiply 3 years/1095 days x’s the 5.5% in value the BA offers then that’s 60.225 days.

I get that you're looking at it as $50 but it's not really $50, because it's not locked behind a pay-wall. Also it's permanent unlike magic items, and yes it'll only save 70 something days but thing is th16 isn't the last th, there are gonna be many more th's so it's definitely worth in the long term.
It’s all about perspective and you are not wrong. 1) If a player has gems lying around anyways they’re not gonna use then yes ofc grab the BA and 2) yes it will “pay off” one day as it’s like a permanent magic item but at a massive cost imo and it will take years to cross that roi threshold. Either way it’s a cool idea so anyone who wants to spend gems on it should just to try it out lol
I bought the Builder's Apprentice as soon as it came out and Maxed it out and it's definitely worth it in the long run and only those players should buy it who can come online daily
The best group ofpeople who will benefit from this will be strategic rushers.. it's a long term investment if you intend to play at least 12 months after you max this
Supercell has stated that it is not their intention or advice to max out the Apprentice immediately (via gems). They claim that the intent is to have players slowly build the Apprentice up (as the player accumulates gems via gameplay). Between obstacles, Gem Boxes, and selling Magical Items I don’t use, I probably collect between 300-400 gems per month. My Apprentice is currently at Level 3 - but my base is maxed out, too. Every year that you have the Apprentice, its value increases. It’ll take me a year to collect the gems required to max out the Apprentice. The longer I play and more I use the Apprentice, the more surplus value I extract from it - making the return of investment increase exponentially every month/year.
You’re not incorrect. I would just ask what else could you be using your gems on? If nothing else then you are correct might as well save up for the BA.

If I roll that back, I can save gems fairly quickly. These Clan Games that are about to end will yield me about 170 gems. Between this, rolling back my donations, and selling extra magic items gained through the monthly season challenges, I can upgrade my Apprentice about once every two months. And since I maxed out (using most of my Builders to farm Clan Capital), I view the Apprentice as a future investment. I’m actually hoping that there are a lot of building upgrades in the July (2024) update.

That’s totally up to you. If you’re almost max then the value you’re gonna get will be really low but then again if you’re not gonna spend those gems on anything else then might as well right? 🤷🏻♂️
As a free to play player since 2012 I never spend a single gem on this epic game.. Patience is my worst enemy.. because of that i have 65000.. anddd I'm max th16 except for newest pet.. otw to lvl 10 now.. All my storages are constipated just now waiting for new update to drop..
I'm in a similar situation. If this apprentice worked for research and forges, it would be worth it. As it is, I'm wondering what good this thing is? Especially for the money. Its essentially like gaining a certain amount of builder potions per week or day I guess. I think I'd rather invest all the gems in fun skins rather than get a marginal increase on my building.
I have an account (not maxed) I've had for many years, that was sitting on a lot of gems, so it cost me no real money for the builder's apprentice. No, I don't buy gems. Most of the other stuff you covered in this video you need to use real money to buy, but you don't need real money to get the builder's apprentice, just enough time to collect enough gems. I have another account, which had fewer gems, but still enough to get some levels of the apprentice and have enough left if I needed them for something. I was spending the gems on other things so why not, since the gems didnt cost me any money.
It’s also important to consider it’s not necessarily 50 dollars for most. I have 4k gems rub so it would only be 20 dollars which is possibly the case for a lot of active players
And if a player has gems they will never use sitting dormant then yes 100% this should be bought and is worth it. I just use up all my gems on one gem donations lol

That’s such a tough question to answer because I think it’s overpriced as it is. Ultimately it comes down to how long do you think you’ll be playing clash? If you’re still gonna be playing in say 2-3 years and I was willing to invest 6500 gems then I might just do it. As it is I noticed they are offering a level 1 BA in the shop…and as much as I hate it I’ll probably end up getting it on at least 1 or 2 of my accounts. If they improve the cost/benefit ratio in the future then I’ll consider upgrading from level 1
15k gems f2p goddamn, 😳 as a f2p too, my gems never cross more than 500, I always spent gems on book of heroes. I'm almost maxed out th16 though, I think you should start using gems and progress faster if you're f2p, I don't really see any benefits from stacking up that much gems unless you have plans to sell account in future.

You have failed to include all the free gems you get from the game in your math. You remove objects from your main and builder base all the time for gems. You can sell all the potions in your free path for 10 gems each. You can buy potions with your raid medals and sell them for 10 gems each. With a little time and patience this is a free clock tower for one builder every day. If you spend fifty you are doing it wrong. Therefore the whole premise of your argument is wrong.
If you have extra gems lying around and you’re not using them for anything else then you are correct. Might as well use them on the builders apprentice. This analysis is based on a player actually spending money to purchase the builders apprentice. I use all my gems on one gem donations lol
Free gems have its purpose, and also, through free method it takes a lot of time, probably more than a year to get 6.5k gems, considering ur using most important magic items and not selling of all ur raid medals constantly. All the problem, talk,etc arises from that insane gem cost, veteran players like itsu too have told SC a lot that the cost is soo high compared to the value it gives. To me, they have to nerf the gem cost, or give us appropriate apprentice builder lvl according to th, like in builder base.
lol not sure where you’re getting you’re math as I never said anything like this in the video. It’s 1095 days / 5 builders which equals 219 days per builder. Since the BA is a third of a builder that’s 219/3 which is 73.
Another way to think of it is with 5 builders the BA makes your upgrading journey go 6.6% faster. If total time to max is 3 years or 1095 days 1095 x’s .066 is 72.27 days saved.
i sold all my magic items, spend raid medals and league medals on potions then sold them . easy way to get gems for this. every raid you get like 700-800 medals and that is 80 gems already
I spent free gems on him and want a refund. Hes not worth it but im TH12 so maybe that will change. Hopefully they rework him in the future or give hime a buff
You can’t use builder apprentice from day one because it’s available from TH10 :) Anyway, I’m not going to buy gems to upgrade it, but I will probably gradually upgrade going gems over time. It will take a loooong time for sure :)

You correctly stated it's 3 years to upgrade from TH2 to TH16 which is 1095 days multiplied by 8 hours saved a day divided by 6 builders (6th builder is also available since TH10, not before, so no point to calculate since TH2) gives 1460 hours which is around 60 days saved that you are mentioning, while in reality, since apprentice builder is available from TH10, maximum saving is 684*8/6/24 = 38 days That's why I'm saying, the benefit of having apprentice builder is even lower than you presented. 60 days you are mentioning is not possible, and 73 with 5 builders is also not really possible, because no one would invest 6500 gems in apprentice warden without 6th builder ;) *) 684 days is what you need to go from early TH10 to maxed TH16 (yes, I calculated it based on clash ninja site)
it has never been worth it to buy gems for an average player, this update however doesn't force you to buy the gems, even just obstacles and gem mines will get f2p players the upgrades over time, before achievements are considered. It is an optional increase and anyone can save up for the upgrades. it would take a max of 2 years of saving to upgrade it plus you can get gems in so many other ways
This is true! I just don’t like the roi on this investment. It will take 2-3 years to get a return and in my opinion that’s just too long. If gems are just lying around unused then ofc grab it but spending actual money isn’t worth it imo

As a casual player that plays just for fun sometimes (as it should be it's just a damn videogame 😂), it is far from being a good investment

Cwl medals are definitely far more valuable than anything else in the game, don’t sell them. I’d suggest not feeling pressured to max the builders apprenticed right away, as it seems it was designed to be a thing to upgrade slowly as players progress over many town halls. Your achievements should easily give you another 750 gems if you play consistently for a couple months. Don’t forget about obstacles too.

Since th12 i love using balloons+ super dragons (replaceble thru other dragon / edrags) combined with rage freeze and poison. Still works and im th14 now

The game doesn’t get funner the higher level I am. I’m fully maxed and also have a second F2P account which is just as fun if not more than my maxed acc.
$50 is a big spend in one. Unless you give it time as you say its long term investment. Every week put aside $10 for it. In a month’s time, youve got $50 for it. But in terms of $50 raw gems vs $50 for apprentice. Definitely not worth it. Gems are valued elsewhere ie goblin, weekly specials, etc. i wouldnt spend for apprentice either. If they buff apprentice to become the early 6th builder and bob the 7th then definitely i would.
8hours per day 8hours= 93gem 6500/93= 70days (2months & 10days) for you to get the value of 6500 gems. Its worth it specially in a long run. Also town hall level wont stop at 16… so do the math peeps
You are comparing the builders apprentice to the most expensive way to finish a building which is by gemming it. Using a book is much more efficient and is a better comparison for our gem money. Not saying the BA isn’t worth it for some players but making a comparison to all options within the game is crucial.

Guys, they are cutting all upgrade times in half so it will be worth it. So if a wizard tower for example would be 10 days to upgrade is gonna be 5 days, now stack the builder apprentice on that a day.
I'm a f2p player & I already have 4.5k gems currently I will purchase builder apprentice but not upgraded him, I'll keep him at level 1 till 1 or more month in hope that one day supercell will reduce cost Although I don't care about gems being wasted in this build coz I never purchased them, all gems are free from achivements but still, this builder is not worthy because you need to appoint him daily & i don't have time to play game daily,I only play game on raid weekend & cwl So this builder is totally useless for me
If you just have gems lying around that you will never use them spending them on the builders apprentice isn’t necessarily a bad purchase as you’re at least getting something out of those gems. Either way have fun playing because that’s what it’s ultimately about 🙂

long term is worth it and f2p players that are crying about the gems, you need to manage your gems. I am f2p and have 10k gems. Just upgrade the gem mine and clean the trees, sell your potions (not the builder and supertroops lol), and save gems! The regular builders costed gems aswell...

That’s actually what I did. At $3 there’s actually an argument to be made about value. Still not great value but decent enough and supercell might actually add abilities to him down the road which would make him more valuable.
Supercell has to be the most greediest company I’ve ever seen. I used to buy the gold pass for 4.99 then I look at it’s now 6.99 I don’t think so. I don’t buy it anymore. I’m not getting the builder apprentice because it’s just a garbage way for them to get money Free to play and I’ll wait.
I disagree….there are way more important items in the game like the epic hero equipment…u cannot just assume that everyone has every epic hero equipment for free available right now….hence builder apprentice will only provide like 2.5 hours daily while u can purchase an wpic equipment for the same cost

Yes but you get to keep him for life if you buy a book of heroes for example you only get to use it once and have to keep buying it .
Gem mine lvl 10 is 5 gems per day so 100 days for 500 gems, you can just wait and slowly get the builder apprentice as a free 2 play player. But it hurts our capability to buy skins for gems so we will spend money for the skins or spend money for the builder, smart supercell. But as a f2p player I think it's good to have that option aviable and it's a permanent upgrade.
I don’t think it’s horrible to have in the game for sure. I just wish it was a bit lower cost for the minimal value it’s offering. And man those skins can be OP right? Haha
Hey, I encountered a bug with this apprentice builder.I upgraded and maxed it two days ago and it was supposed to save 8 hours, but when I checked my upgrade time, it only saved 2 hours. Today, I found out that when I quit the game, it doesn't save any time at all.
That sucks. I do know if there are less than 8 hours left on an upgrade then those hours are just lost. If you’re having other issues then Supercell support would be the best place to ask those questions.

You have to decide what’s most important to you. If you are going to play the game for years and years and years then it’s hard to argue for anything other than the BA.

I’m a th15 , half way maxed. I got lvl 1 builder apprentice just to have it because I had enough gems . I’ll upgrade it as I get the the remaining 1000 gem achievements , definitely not using money on it though

I’m not sure if it can upgrade walls or not. Ultimately level 1 is the most efficient level as the cost per hour only increases from there. I have bought the $3 deal on 2 of my accounts just because it’s pretty break even at least at that price vs 500 gems but I won’t be upgrading it at all. Whether or not you’d like to do the same is up to you! 🙂

This is actually what I did 😂 The first level at 500 gems was essentially break even imo but then they offered it for $3 in the cash shop and that broke me 😭 So I bought it on 4 of my accounts 😂 I’m REALLY hoping that they let us upgrade one wall piece or pull up one obstacle per day with it actually. I would actually recommend people buy it for that perk as that can help with overflowing storage or grabbing a gem box.

Your 365 days of time saved is not the complete story. That’s only on one builder when there are 6 builders. So you’re not saving a year of build time. Because there are 6 builders you’re only saving 60 days of build time at the end because there are 6 builders and not just 1 builder which is what you’re running your calculation on.

No. It's permanent. The builder just have to cool down for 23 hours and work only 1 hour😂
If you collect every obstacle in your home village and builder base and have a maxed out gem mine, you will get on average 17 gems a day (6,205 a year) not accounting for achievements, boosting gem mine with clock tower, or other means of acquiring gems.

How did you get those numbers, bcs I believe it saves 120 days a year if you use it every day.. 24 hours/8 = 3, 365 days / 3 around 120 days
You have to remember that those days saved at the end after you are maxed is the total saved for 6 builders. So if you’re looking at it from an individual builder’s standpoint it’s 60 days saved x’s 6 builders that are just sitting around after we’re max which using your individual builder metric is 360 days or 120 days per year. So your number is right in that the builders apprentice can complete 120 days per year of building, its only on one building and not 6 buildings. At the very end when we are max we will finish 60 days earlier with the BA and with 6 builders.
Another way to think of it is the BA can complete 5.5% of what 6 builders can accomplish as each builder is completing 16.6% of the whole during those 3 years. If we multiply 3 years/1095 days x’s the 5.5% in value the BA offers then that’s 60.225 days.
Not sure if I did a crappy job explaining it lol but I thought the same in the beginning before I realized that if we can finish from start to max in about 3 years at 120 days per year that would be 360 days total meaning the BA would have finished a 3rd of the upgrades by himself 🙂 Not sure I even understood what I wrote 😂

I get that you're looking at it as $50 but it's not really $50, because it's not locked behind a pay-wall.
Also it's permanent unlike magic items, and yes it'll only save 70 something days but thing is th16 isn't the last th, there are gonna be many more th's so it's definitely worth in the long term.
It’s all about perspective and you are not wrong. 1) If a player has gems lying around anyways they’re not gonna use then yes ofc grab the BA and 2) yes it will “pay off” one day as it’s like a permanent magic item but at a massive cost imo and it will take years to cross that roi threshold. Either way it’s a cool idea so anyone who wants to spend gems on it should just to try it out lol
I bought the Builder's Apprentice as soon as it came out and Maxed it out and it's definitely worth it in the long run and only those players should buy it who can come online daily
The best group ofpeople who will benefit from this will be strategic rushers.. it's a long term investment if you intend to play at least 12 months after you max this
From my estimates it will take between 2-3 years of daily play for the investment to make sense. If that’s worth it to you then ofc go for it!

Honestly at TH16 it’d be much better for you to go with books from this point on. If you wanna grab the first level BA doesn’t hurt anything.

Supercell has stated that it is not their intention or advice to max out the Apprentice immediately (via gems). They claim that the intent is to have players slowly build the Apprentice up (as the player accumulates gems via gameplay).
Between obstacles, Gem Boxes, and selling Magical Items I don’t use, I probably collect between 300-400 gems per month. My Apprentice is currently at Level 3 - but my base is maxed out, too.
Every year that you have the Apprentice, its value increases. It’ll take me a year to collect the gems required to max out the Apprentice. The longer I play and more I use the Apprentice, the more surplus value I extract from it - making the return of investment increase exponentially every month/year.
You’re not incorrect. I would just ask what else could you be using your gems on? If nothing else then you are correct might as well save up for the BA.

If I roll that back, I can save gems fairly quickly. These Clan Games that are about to end will yield me about 170 gems. Between this, rolling back my donations, and selling extra magic items gained through the monthly season challenges, I can upgrade my Apprentice about once every two months. And since I maxed out (using most of my Builders to farm Clan Capital), I view the Apprentice as a future investment.

I'm in a similar situation. If this apprentice worked for research and forges, it would be worth it. As it is, I'm wondering what good this thing is? Especially for the money. Its essentially like gaining a certain amount of builder potions per week or day I guess. I think I'd rather invest all the gems in fun skins rather than get a marginal increase on my building.
I have an account (not maxed) I've had for many years, that was sitting on a lot of gems, so it cost me no real money for the builder's apprentice. No, I don't buy gems. Most of the other stuff you covered in this video you need to use real money to buy, but you don't need real money to get the builder's apprentice, just enough time to collect enough gems. I have another account, which had fewer gems, but still enough to get some levels of the apprentice and have enough left if I needed them for something. I was spending the gems on other things so why not, since the gems didnt cost me any money.

It’s also important to consider it’s not necessarily 50 dollars for most. I have 4k gems rub so it would only be 20 dollars which is possibly the case for a lot of active players
And if a player has gems they will never use sitting dormant then yes 100% this should be bought and is worth it. I just use up all my gems on one gem donations lol

That’s such a tough question to answer because I think it’s overpriced as it is. Ultimately it comes down to how long do you think you’ll be playing clash? If you’re still gonna be playing in say 2-3 years and I was willing to invest 6500 gems then I might just do it. As it is I noticed they are offering a level 1 BA in the shop…and as much as I hate it I’ll probably end up getting it on at least 1 or 2 of my accounts. If they improve the cost/benefit ratio in the future then I’ll consider upgrading from level 1

I'm almost maxed out th16 though, I think you should start using gems and progress faster if you're f2p, I don't really see any benefits from stacking up that much gems unless you have plans to sell account in future.

You have failed to include all the free gems you get from the game in your math. You remove objects from your main and builder base all the time for gems. You can sell all the potions in your free path for 10 gems each. You can buy potions with your raid medals and sell them for 10 gems each. With a little time and patience this is a free clock tower for one builder every day. If you spend fifty you are doing it wrong. Therefore the whole premise of your argument is wrong.

Free gems have its purpose, and also, through free method it takes a lot of time, probably more than a year to get 6.5k gems, considering ur using most important magic items and not selling of all ur raid medals constantly. All the problem, talk,etc arises from that insane gem cost, veteran players like itsu too have told SC a lot that the cost is soo high compared to the value it gives. To me, they have to nerf the gem cost, or give us appropriate apprentice builder lvl according to th, like in builder base.

You can’t use builder apprentice from day one because it’s available from TH10 :)
Anyway, I’m not going to buy gems to upgrade it, but I will probably gradually upgrade going gems over time. It will take a loooong time for sure :)

You correctly stated it's 3 years to upgrade from TH2 to TH16 which is 1095 days multiplied by 8 hours saved a day divided by 6 builders (6th builder is also available since TH10, not before, so no point to calculate since TH2) gives 1460 hours which is around 60 days saved that you are mentioning, while in reality, since apprentice builder is available from TH10, maximum saving is 684*8/6/24 = 38 days
That's why I'm saying, the benefit of having apprentice builder is even lower than you presented. 60 days you are mentioning is not possible, and 73 with 5 builders is also not really possible, because no one would invest 6500 gems in apprentice warden without 6th builder ;)

it has never been worth it to buy gems for an average player, this update however doesn't force you to buy the gems, even just obstacles and gem mines will get f2p players the upgrades over time, before achievements are considered. It is an optional increase and anyone can save up for the upgrades. it would take a max of 2 years of saving to upgrade it plus you can get gems in so many other ways
This is true! I just don’t like the roi on this investment. It will take 2-3 years to get a return and in my opinion that’s just too long. If gems are just lying around unused then ofc grab it but spending actual money isn’t worth it imo

As a casual player that plays just for fun sometimes (as it should be it's just a damn videogame 😂), it is far from being a good investment

Cwl medals are definitely far more valuable than anything else in the game, don’t sell them. I’d suggest not feeling pressured to max the builders apprenticed right away, as it seems it was designed to be a thing to upgrade slowly as players progress over many town halls. Your achievements should easily give you another 750 gems if you play consistently for a couple months. Don’t forget about obstacles too.

Since th12 i love using balloons+ super dragons (replaceble thru other dragon / edrags) combined with rage freeze and poison. Still works and im th14 now

But in terms of $50 raw gems vs $50 for apprentice. Definitely not worth it. Gems are valued elsewhere ie goblin, weekly specials, etc. i wouldnt spend for apprentice either.

You are comparing the builders apprentice to the most expensive way to finish a building which is by gemming it. Using a book is much more efficient and is a better comparison for our gem money. Not saying the BA isn’t worth it for some players but making a comparison to all options within the game is crucial.

Guys, they are cutting all upgrade times in half so it will be worth it. So if a wizard tower for example would be 10 days to upgrade is gonna be 5 days, now stack the builder apprentice on that a day.

Saving 60 days of hero upgrades is a game changer
For $50 I can do a lot in game including with heroes whether that’s through the builders apprentice or by buying other items with that amount.
You could gain playstore points and get items like that too

If you just have gems lying around that you will never use them spending them on the builders apprentice isn’t necessarily a bad purchase as you’re at least getting something out of those gems. Either way have fun playing because that’s what it’s ultimately about 🙂

NGL they gonna offer a pack for the builder 100% just like they do with their other builder packs so most likely will be a good deal for ptw players because clash of clans isn’t known for being this greedy

and f2p players that are crying about the gems, you need to manage your gems. I am f2p and have 10k gems. Just upgrade the gem mine and clean the trees, sell your potions (not the builder and supertroops lol), and save gems! The regular builders costed gems aswell...
If you have the gems then yes definitely worth it. I don’t have any gems because I’m always donating to my clan mates cc requests with one gem donations.

Yeah if a player has built up free gems gained in game then spending those on the builders apprentice is a solid choice especially if you’re not planning on using them for anything else.
Got my 1000 gems for destroying eagle artillery 😎😎 then got another 1000 gems for destroying 5000 inferno towers 😎😎 I feel like a king 😂😂😂 hit COC with that reverse Uno

I am probably spending my 2.5k gems for lvl 4 builder, books of heroes wouldn't have their desired potential with my hero levels and i still have some 1k gem reward challanges. BUT STILL WAITING FOR SOME CHANGES IN HERO UPGRADES (as teased in reddit q/a)

I think people are missing the point its giving a purpose to gems atm they are pretty worthless
They can buy hero equipment, heroes skins, books, one gem donations… I think they’re pretty useful.
Already bought the Builder's Apprentice and got it maxed 🎉 Its definitely worth it in the long run and only those players should buy it who can come online daily .❤❤❤
If you’re going to use it nonstop it will take awhile before your ROI works out but if it’s worth it to you then definitely grab it.

That’s actually what I did. At $3 there’s actually an argument to be made about value. Still not great value but decent enough and supercell might actually add abilities to him down the road which would make him more valuable.

Supercell has to be the most greediest company I’ve ever seen. I used to buy the gold pass for 4.99 then I look at it’s now 6.99 I don’t think so. I don’t buy it anymore. I’m not getting the builder apprentice because it’s just a garbage way for them to get money Free to play and I’ll wait.

I disagree….there are way more important items in the game like the epic hero equipment…u cannot just assume that everyone has every epic hero equipment for free available right now….hence builder apprentice will only provide like 2.5 hours daily while u can purchase an wpic equipment for the same cost
It’s all about what a player wants to invest their gems into. I for example use a ton of gems for one gem donations. Some players buy hero equipment. Some books of heroes. Ultimately the builders apprentice is not a bad idea and if gems are lying around then ofc spend it on the BA but the cost will take years to get back that roi so to me it’s not worth it even if I have the gems. Other things are more valuable to me than a month or two of faster upgrading. Thanks for your comment btw 🙂 Always good to hear different viewpoints.
