I know my Jack Russell had a hard time... He spent a lot of time in his bed or going out and barking trying to chase off the bad sounds. I just kept telling him it's okay just trying to talk to him in a calm voice.... It's the same every year. He hates loud noises...maybe because he has big ears? Is super sensitive to sound I don't know... It's the same with loud planes or choppers flying too close to the ground... he will run out barking and trying to chase them off😂 I'm sorry that the people lost their animals that went running off... I hope they get reunited.
Growing up, my father used to give our dog a mild sedative. (He was a pharmacist.) As a life-long dog owner, I always hope for rain on the 4th of July and New Years Eve. Fireworks terrify wildlife, too.
