The coolest thing about this song was it really set the mood for the "adult" portion of the Ocarina of Time, letting you know that these temples were going to be a huge step up from the previous dungeons.

My favorite track from this game for sure. It hinges on nightmarish, yet it's calming and feels like it is somehow luring you into a false sense of security. Much like the sirens song. *shutters*
My fav no doubt is the song of storms/windmill song but this one is my second favorite for the same reasons.

Best Zelda theme ever. Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time arguably had one of the best video game soundtracks of it's time.
I'll tell you one thing, when they gave us the Forest Temple, they were sending us a message. "We ain't fucking around anymore."
This song is crazy. I've always loved the forest temple for it's environment and music; it manages to be both eerie but peaceful in a way.
I always found this music and this whole temple creepier than all the others, including the Shadow Temple (Which is my personal favourite)

Huh... I always found it super calming, with just a little darkness. I guess that makes since because the I loved the aspect of just how dark the game was.

I remember this temple, is quite easy, but the fucking song always make you feel scared, and that you are going to loose your mind.
Really, really, really, really, really fucked up and creepy, and of course that's what make this temple special, that and the puzzles always made me flip the shit out of me is pretty tedious, and is awesome.

ive heard people call this scary but it always made me want to go deeper and explore further and just purely brought out the adventure inside me
yes insecure people think "dreamlike" atmosphere and instantly become afraid of all the possibilities.
The painting in the boss room always fascinated me the most. I always assumed it was Ganons Tower in the distance but every time the sun sets and I see a dark structure along the horizon it always comes to mind.
When I was young, this song wasn't scared me but this song gimme a feeling of mystery and the feeling to search more in this temple.

This song is so unnerving but somehow alluring. You know there's danger ahead but you're also curious to explore deeper and deeper and face your ultimate demise; like a venus flytrap enticing it's prey.
This song always scared me when I first played this game because it fits very well with the creepy atmosphere of the temple and the feeling of hopelessness and despair there is once you pull the master sword and see everything you once new in ruins. That’s why I was always so glad once I finished this temple so I can leave those feelings behind and look past them
This was my favorite temple in the game because even though the temple was the second-to-most frustrating (next to the Water Temple) the song really just captures the mood. And let me tell you something, when you beat this temple with no outside help, you feel a great surge of accomplishment.
The song and atmosphere of the forest temple was haunting, this is one of my all time favorite video games
Cool theme, and very fitting for the Forest Temple, especially the courtyard where you can see the top of the castle walls.
i love this. i wish people in the actual music industry made songs like this (i know there probably are, but none that i have heard of) every song in this soundtrack (and every zelda soudntrack, really) is so unique, i love it.
I loved this temple. This came real close to being second to Shadow Temple, but the music for the Forest Temple was enough to take first place.

the music in this game is perfection. each piece of music for the temples sounds right. this to me sounds like being in a temple deep in a forest. same for the water temple but under the ocean. spirit temple, far in a desert. there just won't be another game like this
I never understood the shouting at around 1:03. I always thought they reused Link's grunting and sped them up.

Ahhh...the memories. This is my favorite temple music. I haven't played this game in years and its the only one I remembered.
This theme makes me think of the magic and illusion being cast upon you in this sacred place. With every room you enter you must ask yourself, is everything truly as it seems?
No other game/music in that game can out-do this game and its beautiful music. The BEST ever made!
This dungeon is perfection. think like the entrance of Doric Greek temples, to think that looks like an art gallery with paintings of ghosts and red cords that are in museums. has a crazy atmosphere that traps you and makes you insane. masterpiece, simply.
this song brings back tons of memories of when I used to play this game late at night also of when my oldest daughter was very young and how young me and my wife were when we first started out in one of our first homes.

Vaguely reminds me of Akira. Completely bought this level to life. Hearing similar echo/reverb effect with vocals from Kanye tracks...that’s what brought me here.

It's amazing once you realize the Forest Temple would've never been as haunting if it didn't have this song. This music makes the dungeon what it is.
My favorite temple. I love not only the music, but the atmosphere, design, and challenge. The other temples were a little easy and not as memorable. The Water Temple was a fucking maze of dungeon that drove me insane. This one was 'just right' :)

This music and the temple itself are beautiful. The Wall Masters were creepy the first time I encountered one, but that's it. I don't get freaked out by them now.
This is even creepier to me than the original Lavender Town Theme, and that one is already one hell of a nightmare
Ilove how creepy this music is, I didn't play Ocarina as a child, I just played it on the Virtual console, and this is the top track that stood out for me. I actually just stood in the main foyer and just listened.
I want to be a kid again, everything felt so real, and my imagination helped with everything, it was amazing, I miss those times so much, Zelda games make me feel like a kid again, they make me go to the past almost literally, that's why I love them so badly, and the music is sooo beautiful, this one's creepy, I know... but beautiful in a different kind of way...

Then again that made the Water Temple a thousand times harder.
i just had an argument like this with my dad, who scoffs at me for playing video games, and he reads books all day long. video games especially zelda have inspired me to do so many things in music and creative writing. they are the outlet of imagination for our generation
I remember getting stuck in the Forest temple for a looooong time because it was tricky! and this music was just.. STRESSING me OUT! I played the rest of the level with my TV muted. LOL

@Jakihro I waited for, say, 6 months or something after that before i had the guts to go through that place again. Approximately 6 MONTHS where i was annoyed by the fact that i was stuck EVERY OTHER day.
The Re-Dead are sure as hell scary, but the Wall Masters were the only ones i was ever this scared of.
I don't understand why so many people find or have found at least, this music frightening or creepy. It's more mysterious than creepy. I've always found it to be really absolutely beautiful, which is what the temple design is like, beautiful yet mysterious. It almost seems enchanted in a way
I played this game when it first came out in 98, this was definitely my favorite Temple music.
The Forest Temple and the Spirit Temple are my favorites. They are both puzzling and mysterious. ;)

I remember the very first time I heard this my eyes went wide as well as the tips of lips curling as high as possible. I also remember just going into the temple, just to listen to this. It is hauntingly beautiful.

Finding entertainment in fictional stories is by its very nature a suspension of disbelief. Our level of disbelief varies with the medium we are finding entertainment in. A murder mystery has much more emphasis focused on a single life than a zombie apocalypse, for example. Zelda's story is one that revolves around a fantastical/medieval setting that does have a lot of darkness and shadows, and this is clearly not an analogue to our non-magical existence.
I've heard so many times how creepy this song is, but I actually find it kind of relaxing.
The Temple itself though, I can understand. Freaking Wallmasters.

@CrazehMusic I think they had two types, one were the kinds that came down from the ceiling and grabbed you putting you at the start of the temple, those were the wall masters I believe, the others were the types that split up if you attacked them, I think they are called Floor masters. Hope this help lol
what a great tune. the scariest boss to me was easily dead hand. the way he walked and slowly bent down to bite you...he was the for sure the coolest boss, but too easy to beat.

Man, I remember I was stuck here for the longest. It was so frustrating, then, for some reason, I had the idea to venture just outside the entrance and look around. I finally found the small chest that contained the key I was missing for so long. I silently raged. -_-
@Hibiki328 yeah you're right....but for me it evoke that strange feeling of the unexpected and in addition to this music it made this temple creepier to me than the shadow temple ;)

This is the actual version. On the N64 it sounded like this. If you listen on the Wii now, it sounds a bit different. The Fire Temple has completely changed. Either way I am mid twenties now, and listen to this song as if were going out of style. Excellent Upload!!

Twisted hallways and secret passages. Had me going round in circles for awhile (but certainly not as long as the Water Temple.)
This was the best temple, in the best game in the Zelda series.
Still the best zelda game and best soundtack. i still play OOT, and although every new zelda game that comes out is always a great game. i will never have memories such as the memories i have for OOT. this isnt just the best zelda game but the greatest game ever made. Ingenius Dungeon designs and awesome music. there is a magical feeling to OOT that few zelda games possess.
Such relaxing music :) It makes me sleepy, and it brings back so many memories. ♥
