- Paige is no stranger to the spotlight. Having risen to fame as a social media sensation since high school and earning the reputation as a “tough bucket,” we've all witnessed her remarkable growth on the court over the years. Despite setbacks from injuries, the playmaker is back in action, showcasing a renewed bag of tricks. Now, as the leading player for the UConn women’s basketball team, she has an opportunity to put her name into the ring with some of the best to ever play the game.
Among those elite is 4x NCAA National Champion Breanna Stewart, who holds Bueckers in the highest regard. According to Stewie, “They go as far as Paige can take them.” “She is one of one.” “She can get her shot off over anybody.” Paige bears the weight of transitioning from being just a standout to leaving a lasting mark on one of the most accomplished programs in women’s basketball.

4x National Champion Breanna Stewart Talks UConn & Paige Bueckers' Game
• 4x National Champion B...
Thank you Breanna for those beautiful, beautiful words about someone who is very, very special, Paige Bueckers. Coming from such a champion as you, it actually brought tears to my eyes because I know you feel as strongly about her as all of us do.
Well, after this was recorded, UCONN is, indeed, on it's way to the "Final Four" and they show no signs of weakening. We are witnessing something which is hard to describe. But rather than trying to figure it out let's watch them 'do their thing' (the UCONN thing!) and enjoy every moment.
Thanks again Breanna and good luck to you and the Liberty!
Loved watching Breanna play back in the day. So nice of her to give her thoughts on Paige.
Geno compares Paige to "Stewie" - high praise indeed. If Ash gets hot and we are smart about fouling, who knows. The USC game was so much fun to watch. Now can someone explain why Geno is not in the running for coach of the year?
“No Doubt” UCONN’s going forward, no doubt.
I agree Page is special. I agree that without Page and with all injuries on the roaster, UCONN would not be March Madness, BUT! Page could never make it to March Madness with out the stellar team she is a part of. Lets give credit to the whole team
I don't think it's on Paige at all. She will get her points. So will Aaliyah. It's really on Nika and the freshmen to do their part. If Nika is in foul trouble, Ashlynn is missing shots, and Ice is fumbling passes, Uconn will lose, not matter what Paige does.
Nika foul trouble last game and they won
@@PrettygirlMisha she got lucky. She fouled out against ND and uconn ended up losing. She needs to be in the game
UConn 🎉
Paige is surrounded by a super team
No doubt that Breanna Stewart was the key component of the UConn championship teams of 2013--2016. However, she had an outstanding cast of supporting characters. Morgan Tuck and Moriah Jefferson in her class, Stephanie Dolson and Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis in previous classes, and Katie Lou Samuelson and Napheesa Collier in a later class. Paige has nowhere near that depth of talent to support her. Paige's supporting cast is good, but it is not at the level that Stewie had.
She's had journeyman around her compared to Stewie. She's only played 17 games with Azzi who's an elite player. Other than than she played with Dorka her first yr who's turning into a solid player. Lou S is elite but played when Paige sat out. Stewie had a team, you forgot Kia and Gabby too, full of all stars. Paige just took a team to the Final 4, consisting of Nika Muhl, KK Arnold, Ashlynn Shade, Q Samuel's, and Ice Brady, who would not have been recruited during Stewies years. Aaliyah could've played on Stewies team but would've been deep off the bench. If Paige didn't play this yr, we would've had to fight to finish at .500.
Here's the question: If Stewie switched places with Paige, do you think UConn would be going to their 3rd Final Four in the last 4 years? No way, sorry I love Stewie, but Paige plays at a completely different level.
Paige had Christyn Williams, Liv, and Evina Westbrook during her first 2 years and Azzi and Dorka for a few games her sophomore year. AND UCONN went to the Final 4 each year! Comparing Paiges squad to Stewies squad would be like comparing a Ferrari to a nice Honda Civic.
*But what if Paige had Stewies squad? Good lord! Paige surrounded with that talent? Could you imagine? Having M Lewis, Tuck, Gabby, Kia, Lou, Moriah, and Pheesa on the same team, with Paige? WNBA level squad.
*I really hope everyone stays healthy for next year. Between who we now have and the freshman coming in, we do have something special in the works.
Paige has given everything for UConn. She could've left and never looked back. But she stayed. She deserves to leave with a national championship playing on a team she didn't have to carry but just lead.
Go huskies!
Love Her😎😎
Perfect!
