Yeaa pretty solid analogy there. And they both make a similar face when they get prickly for no reason. Rivers saying all that with twice the scowl and none of the charisma of the likes of Perk made it worse. You could probably take more ‘future NBA’ players when young and more would make it in NFL then if you took ‘future NFL’ youth and switched them to basketball. Less of that group could make it. But football is so different. The amount of ppl, the specializations require many different body types, the actual physicality in each sport requires a world of different training. Also, for the most part, if youre athletic enough, you go with basketball. The guys that are a touch thicker in the hips, in the dome, a touch slower in the hand-eye-coordination, the proprioception etc. But football requires things that most basketball players couldnt handle. Its a different endurance. The hits. The power. The ability to squat 600 as a qb in some cases. Those guys have a different strength. Its just different.
