I do like this mold, with jhaixus being one of my fan favourite characters,i really loved this toy,i think it cloud work as armada thrust with some heavy or expensive retools, especially with that jet mod
I feel like we’ll get a Thunderwing remold from this. That gap under the nosecone would be filled by the mini-jet from the Pretender figure, and the opening grabby hands make me think he’ll come with a Matrix as well.
I would have assumed this was a 3rd party figure just looking at since none of the limbs are visibly hollow. I didn't know Hasbro was still capable of that.
A cool generation selects repaint could be an orange/grey version to reference the beast machines and generations figure. Heck maybe put the BM vehicon symbol on his chest and it could be a nice figure
@@rayvenkman2087 It would definitely be a smart move for Hasbro but there can be some caveats with. For example, the soundwave is definitely going to shelf warm. Prime/Armada/RiD getting fresh updates and unreleased characters that are genuine to that part of Transformers' spirit and aesthetic would be refreshing.
I just received the OG Beast Wars Inferno in the mail today so I was gonna hold off on the spending...But I think I’ll make it a point to look for this guy tomorrow, your review convinced me.
Looking him over recently, I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to retool him into a Thunderwing eventually. You'd have to do very little engineering wise to get a Legacy Jihaxus into a Thunderwing. The nosecone folds up the same way for both, the bat wings can be angled down at the halfway point like on Thunderwing, and the big gap underneath the cockpit is perfect for a micromaster or other smaller robot to mimic his inner robot. A lot of Jihaxus' sculpting also has the roundness that Thunderwing's pretender shell is known for.
He's amazing, although, naturally the part that scares me the most is his clear plastic chest, especially where the nosecone tabs into it. Feels a bit tighter than I'm comfy with, and I worry it'll snap the plastic. I'm thinking of shaving that tab a bit
When I saw the sensor piece on his gun, I got pissed at Amazon. I thought I had a missing piece, as my copy had a dented box that looked like it had been opened. But all is well. Figure is amazing.
Somehow this guy and Cyclonus get really well done engineering while the Earthrise Seekers had to settle for outdated engineering from 2006 and had no waist swivels to call their own.
@@rayvenkman2087 Maybe this is payback for all the years that Fun Pub and IDW spent hyping up literal nobodies. … he was probably a bad example to use. Maybe I should’ve used ER Wheeljack’s incorrectly shaped windshield or Netflix Soundwave’s awkward alt mode as examples.
If we get a true G2 Tank Megatron, then get it a Marvel G2 repaint of it and Earthrise Optimus; it’d be cool to get an exclusive three pack based on that fight scene the pair had with him including having the grimacing/grinning faces from those two iconic comic covers while Optimus gets the G2 #1 cover bullet-ridden head.
This guy is such a love letter to second generation Transformers, and I love everything about it. I haven't put Jhiaxus down since I got him last week. I even dragged out my old Generation 2 comics for a re-read. This Jhiaxus really is one of the best of the bunch in Legacy and its cousin the War for Cybertron Trilogy as part of the larger Generations line. Put short, if anyone reading this is considering Legacy Jhiaxus, my advice is buy it. Buy it now. You won't regret it. (Unless the plastic ends up yellowing, that is.) I can't really articulate how much joy this figure has given me, but I am most thankful for it.
I could be wrong about this but I feel like they're going to redo the transformation and turn this into Prime Skyquake, because you can form a more normal jet mode by leaving the wings in their robot mode configuration and leaving the wings on the legs folded out
The only part I do not like are the arms that just sit at the bottom of the jet mode. It just look like a loading dock attached at the bottom. But it is different and different enough that it is cool.
"Clean" version of the "jet," uh huh. More like a cargo shuttle, with those two bulk shipping containers hanging off the bottom... Maybe that's why he transformed so rarely, he's got a flyer alt mode but is afraid of heights, like that one Aerialbot who was converted from a cargo shuttle to a high speed earth mode?
I like the figure overall but the legs don’t tab together as well as I would like. Always feels like stuff is moving around down there even if it doesn’t come completely undone
Hey TJ, Australia already has year 2 of legacy. Or maybe it’s wave 2. Either way a local target has Buzzsaw, Sandstorm and that weird grey Cheetor. And my local EB Games (GameStop) has This toy and the Soundwave.
People talk about how the Masterpiece line gives off a Roger Rabbit effect with some of the figures, but this guy definitely gives me Roger Rabbit feelings with how he looks like he jumped out of the G2 and Regeneration One comic. The fact this is a mainline figure too, don’t think anyone was expecting a proper Jhiaxus figure, after so many years of repaints that claim to be Jhiaxus.
i smell skyquake from Tfprime extense remold from this toy because the design is much similar with a big minigun of energon to hasbro give us a reason the leader class price
I love how subdued his G2 Decepticon symbol is... Almost like he's less in it for the faction loyalty and more about his own goals... Which is appropriate for the character.
They finally just said..."No, seriously, we're doing G2 Jhiaxus." Again tho, with the Unicron Trilogy, G2, and Beast Wars, why are Prime figures the only ones so heavily "Geewunned"?
I'm guessing because otherwise they'd stick out like a sore thumb. And they want their options open to reuse the molds for different characters. (or in Knockout's case, the mold previously belonged to a G1 character)
Whoever designed this guy is such a die-hard G2 fan with how impeccable this one turned out.

Still baffles me how he wasn’t given the leader price given the lack of hollow parts and articulated hands
This might be due to the fact that the other voyager was a repack of an older figure so they were able to use the budget of both voyagers for Jhiaxus
@@NathanSteven Maybe they should repack more figures in that case, specifically the hard to find ones.

Great review. Pretty solid, unlike his eventual fate in G2. :p
i can't believe how early I found him in Australia
I can imagine it being retooled to Machine Wars Starscream.
After the flying hot dog comment I just got to say. I can't unsee it now. Awesome figure though. Great review Thanks!
Id love to see if this mold could work as a Cybertron era Swoop - replace the bat wings and your golden.
Glad to know Jhiaxus turned out well
Gee Axe Us.
The head on mine isn't loose at all so I guess it's just a quality control issue and not an issue with the figure itself
This guy will be retooled as Dreadwing of TF Prime, my guess.
Who's madder of a scientist jihaxus flame or Shockwave
It's stupid. It's garish. It has literally no subtlety.
And honestly? That's perfect. I'm glad this exists.
I mean to be fair, that's a pretty accurate summary of G2 in general.
his alt mode makes me think of hotdog
I mean, to be fair, both Prime and Primal got Voyagers with opening hands, so
I kinda want a g1 skyquake retool out of this
$100 they make a broadside out this mold.
Why havent they made a Jhiaxus who actually comes with an axe? that'd be perfect
T30 Jhiaxus in retrospect could work as a G1 Era Jhiaxus before adopting his beefy G2 form.
I like the alt mode, although i think it would look cooler with bigger wings but that's just a nitpick and not a deal breaker to me
Hahahahaha space hawtdawg

Really like it, but also really bored by it too. Maybe it's the deco?
Slap some different wings on him and he could pass for energon thrust
Jhiaxus is still stuck in the 90's.
That’s a good thing; we don’t want him to advance to the 2000s and do something horrible to Arcee
Cut off the wings and add some propellers and maybe Blue Bacchus?
