You seem very excited about your Make 9 for 2024 so that speaks well for the completion of the challenge. You have a lovely assortment of projects chosen for variety and beautiful fabrics for each one. Good luck! XX
Great choices of patterns and fabrics. I made a plan for 4 items I wanted to sew at the start of the year as I couldn’t think of 9 things! Pogonip was one of them and that’s done, I used a fleece back jersey, bulky to sew so I used a walking foot & took my time but I love its cosyness.
I am making the Grainline Thaya with the fur backed cord fabric. I find that cutting away some of the fur when folding the fabric over to make the pockets reduces the bulk.
What a gorgeous bundle of projects! I think I loved them all, and your fabric choices…. Love love love! Your nod to the bohemian vibe is my favourites 🤩 It will be so lovely to see them made up and you styling them!
Great take on Make9 - it does give the year focus and I like how you have broadly mapped out the order you are hoping to make them. I too actuathink it's just a gentle push and encouragement to actually think about what you would like. Can't wait to see the results - happy sewing🥰.
Ooh I'd never heard of the Aren't pants but I just looked them up and LOVE the look of them. Thank you for sharing. Have you made them in knit or woven? x
@@SewnontheTyne I’ve made them in woven… so far. I really want to make them I. A knit though. When they first came out they were only for woven. What I love is that when they came out with the knit version, they sent us all the pattern.
I recently made a Shay dress and would recommend making a toile as the fit is not quite right on mine, it's too big. Still haven't done all the buttonholes it's on the wips table🙄
I have made the shay dress twice. Both tank versions. The first was made from a SHJ viscose, with just one tier. I found that I didn't need a zip and I could still get it on. Then I made another with all the tiers without any zip or buttons. I did have to do a FBA and I need to reduce the shoulder to bust point as the shoulders fall down, but it is lovely
Love your vlogs and inspiration - would worry about making one piece dungaree type outfits for music festivals - toilet breaks are my absolutely nightmare - you might have a better option with your musical family connections. Love your make9 and fabric and patterns. Good luck and have a lovely sewing year xx
Thanks so much. Yes, it's definitely a consideration. Although the toilets at Cropredy festival are definitely better than most festivals I've been to! Haha x
Anxious to to see the makes of your make nine. I too was soooooooooooooo inspired by Angela's Flight suit and have made a muslin. I don't have my final fabric yet though. Happy sewing!
My muslin went fine as far as the making of it. I made it to completion as I could see if would be an involved make and I don't want to screw up a good fabric. I do see I need a fabric with a bit of stretch, and I need to grade out a bit in the pants part. Still don't have a nice fabric though. @@SewnontheTyne
Don't let my Shay fail put you off! I made too many insane adjustments to the pattern which is why mine turned our weird 😅 sounds like you're off to a good start with your Make Nine already. Great project 😍
Best of luck. You have some amazing plans. I am doing make 9 first time this year. I completed the first 2 makes successfully, so I am hyped about it. One of my plans is jumper that's very similar to Pogonit (one of views)
So many fab plans. The Blanca will look great on you. It looked amazing on @devonthreadtails I'm currently tracing out patterns for our make 9s. Then I'm going to cut them out and put them in project bags ready to go. 🤞 I will get them done. Dee is going to do odes to 80's icons so really looking forward to her's. Awww Tamlyn it is such a joy to watch your vlogs and thank you once again for your shout out xxx
I so agree with you about pattern company images. I look at loads of patterns and am amazed at how poorly they are presented and don’t appeal to me. However, when I see them made up I am astonished (shows my lack of imagination 😂). Anyway, your plans are,as ever, fabulous. I think you will look fantastic in the Tate rompa - go for it and embrace it!!! 😊 Lynne
I've made the Chanterelle trousers. I made the tapered leg version in a mauve linen for my holiday last year. They are a lovely make. Love all your make 9 plans 😊
I love your pattern choices and fabrics. This was a fab vlog to listen to. For number 7 you could wear it with a wide leather belt.Just make sure you have enough length in the upper body so the crotch does'nt rise uncomfortably. Instead of thinking of make nine as a collective think of each project as a separate step, that might ease any pressure on you. I have the keilo pattern so do you think I should invest in pattern nine?
Thank you. That's a great idea for making it more manageable. Once I've made pattern nine, I'll let you know my thoughts. I don't feel like I can say either way until I've made it :) x
I adore the Kielo and have made a few in woven fabrics and they are fine so couldn't really see the point in buying the Lilja. I'm waiting to see yours as you may change my mind! Lolol xx
Love all of the things you're going to make! They mostly seem like involved projects that will be really rewarding. Good luck, can't wait to see how you progress :)
Really enjoyed hearing your make nine Tamlyn. I have made the Blanca a couple of times. I found it really long in the body. I am quite short waisted and had to adjust the pattern by shortening the bodice. I also raised the position of the back pockets as I found that they sat really low on my bottom! Good luck with your plans. Looking forward to seeing them especially the few that were new to me. Off to look them up now.
Love almost all of tour projects. The play suit…. For me I don’t think the bodice particularly flattering it seems a bit low slung. I don’t mean the empire waist. But, that is my perception ands of course my opinions only apply to me

Lovely plans Tamlyn! Lots of interesting patterns, I'll look forward to seeing your makes! x

Oh that's an amazing tip, thank you x
Thank you😊
Beautiful fabric choices for those patterns!
Lovely plans Tamlyn. You have inspired me to actually write down 9;things I’d like to make this year! 😃
Oh I'm so happy I could inspire you! Good luck x
The e looks like a violet shade I adore it. I think it’s going to look great in that dress, the final one.
Thank you x
What a gorgeous bundle of projects! I think I loved them all, and your fabric choices…. Love love love! Your nod to the bohemian vibe is my favourites 🤩 It will be so lovely to see them made up and you styling them!
Oh thanks so much for your lovely comments. Hopefully the final makes will be as lovely as the plans! x
Everything is so beautiful.. Can hardly wait to see everything....Have fun
Thank you so much x
Love the blue shirt on you x
Loving your Make Nine plans! Can’t wait to see them sewn up - your got some very pretty fabrics that will look stunning in what you’re planning ❤
Thank you honey xx
If you can’t find pink lining I think the blue would be fabulous also! Love the overview of your makes, can’t wait to see them.
Ahh yes, that's a great suggestion! Thank you x

Thanks so much lovely. Yes I'm hoping having a vague idea of when in the year I want to sew them will actually help make it more achievable xx
That is a beautiful list, and ambitious! Completing half of it will be great and you'll be so stylish at the music festivals!
I hope so! Thank you xx
I love all of sew liberated’s patterns. Their Arenite pants are some of my favorite to make.
Ooh I'd never heard of the Aren't pants but I just looked them up and LOVE the look of them. Thank you for sharing. Have you made them in knit or woven? x

It was amazing wasn't it! How did your muslin go? Do you need to make many changes? x

Aww thanks honey. Yes, I didn't think of that! xxx
Your videos are really nice
Wow... Love your make nine Tamlyn 😍👌... Can't wait to follow along 🙏💖😘

Having a go at sourdough bread is on my make 9

Yeah I totally see what you mean! Hopefully I'll like it but I am a little apprehensive x
can you tell me where to buy the zip bags you use to keep your projects together. Id love to be so organised
Hi, They're just from Amazon. If you search 'A3 Mesh Zipper Bag' you should find lots. I find them so useful x
