I actually feel bad for NJH as ML in this series. It's like the show is low-key sabotaging him. The production must know how good KSH is but they still went ahead and put these two to a cry-fest.
Yep.. while NJH is overacting i think. His expression looked like he was being stabbed or after a gun shot. Doesnt sit well with me. I watched his past dramas, n i dont really like his acting. But then again, there is room for growth.
@@jojovv5854 Exactly I think NJH suits for comedy drama as a nerd! For sad drama just no no no!!! He can’t act at all. I didn’t feel anything from his crying scenes.

I think it's good for jipyeong now that he realized maybe some times his words had been real harsh. The only difference is that we got to see his character soften and made progression over 12 episodes. But now we'd only get the chance to see how do san's immaturities grow up in 4 remaining episodes, and only after 3 years time jump smh That creates big imbalances between do san and jipyeong as characters
@Bri Denixe yes that's why i hope for his progression as a character because no matter how young he was, he's still an adult and that didnt justify his action to randomly punch his mentor
The fact that Jipyeong is the last person to know about Grandma’s eyesight really heartbreaking for him and all of us. He must’ve been feeling guilty. He would’ve fought and supported Noongil if he knows that it’s for Grandma since the beginning 😭😭
Why couldn't he fight for NoonGil for those who are blind too? Why only care when the grandma is hurt? Others are hurt too. He could've supported them from the beginning.
@@christineayomide45 I agree, but it must be different knowing that it’s for Grandma since she’s the closest thing to family for him. I feel like he couldn’t fight for Noongil due to some stuff that relates to business and investment, he’s a visionary after all

JI PYEONG DID NOT DESERVE TO GET BEATEN UP !!! I hate how the samsan tech team complained and used the excuse that ji pyeong was being “emotional” when he gave advice because of dal mi when in fact THEY were the ones letting do san’s emotions and feelings get in the way of accepting their mentor’s advice. I know ji pyeong was harsh at times - but he shouldn’t feel bad about it, it’s literally his job. He’s supposed to tell them what they need to hear NOT what they WANT to hear.

At 2:16 that thunder sound - Dhumm and the focus on Kim Seon Ho's face is so well done. You can feel that heartbreak in Kim Seon Ho's eyes and with that background sound. Not to forget, I really liked Nam Joo Hyuk's acting in this scene. 💫
I hate the fact that Jipyeong is being accused of killing that guy's (I don't remember his name) brother. All he did was give the guy feedback. It might have been mean, but he didn't kill him. Also, Dosan went too far. Punching Jipyeong was unnecessary.
@@lemesindong No, compare how JP gives feedback with how Ms Yoon gives feedback. His facts are dressed up with put downs, hers are delivered with logic & advice. You can highlight risks & turn down investment requests without putting people down. JP crossed the line. I will give him that it was because of his harsh upbrining & not out of malice. But nonetheless he's unfit to be mentor until he learns to communicate better. Perhaps this shows an East West divide. The East seems to accept bullying as part of the tough love package. While bullying does still exist in the West, we frown upon it as not something to strive for. There's isn't a right or wrong approach, both can be good or bad depending on the circumstances & both can produce success or failure depending on the circumstances.
@@piakennedy987 Jipyeong didn’t bully the guy; he was frank but not harsh or cruel. Definitely he didn’t commit verbal abuse. He was doing his job as “mentor” and a true teacher would point out to his student that he didn’t do things correctly. How the teacher delivers his admonition is another matter, but in the case of Jipyeong he wasn’t abusive. Dosan’s friend apologizes to Jipyeong toward the end and says he was just looking for someone to blame his brother’s death.
It made me so annoyed when they acted as if Ji Pyeong was obligated to have read the acquisition contract when he wasn't even told there was one in the first place ????!!!
You know that the series is called start up right? They are just new in the industry they are bound to make mistakes and learn from it. Why are you expecting them to know it all? Starting a business requires failures. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows, that’s why they have a mentor to guide them. If you really watched it Dal mi called Ji Pyeong multiple Times to seek advise or output but where was he? Pretending to be sick after Dalmi found out that he is the Do San who wrote him letters.
They even have that lawyer girl in the group for this type of thing...guess she’s useless. I’m not just annoyed but a bit upset they blame Ji Pyeong for everything, even that one dudes brothers suicide. Dosan and his friends seem a bit mentally unstable and manipulative. He had the unconditional love of a total stranger. What other orphans have that? He was very lucky in that respect. Not even DS received unconditional love initially - if he had not been related to his parent would he have been cared for? And the fact that his Dad especially was mad with him for not achieving the success that he expected with DS's talent again shows that his love at first was conditional. Even DM wouldn't have given him a chance if Grandma & JP hadn't stolen his identity & he being the real DS. The love he received initially were all conditional. That can be harsh & burdensome as well - not to be loved for who you really are but for expectations imposed on you.
@@piakennedy987 I agree that JP was lucky to meet grandma, but her "love" for him was not unconditional. I doubt her sentiments towards him could be called "love" in the first place. And even though DS suffered due to his parents' expectations, they always loved him anyway. His mother told him that what hurt her most were not his mistakes but the fact that her son didn't come to her for consolation. Honestly, I think DS has much to be grateful for (throughout the entire story) but continues to demeen himself and his loved ones by considering them NOTHING compared to Dalmi.

The title "Start Up" was one thing that attracted many youngsters because all were interested to see how startup actually works and we might learn something buy what did we get to see? A Disney story. Nam dosan's impulsive behaviour. Dalmi's excitement to achieve something without having a plan(lol). An investor who is wasting time over a company which is a lost cause. This series revolved so much around the leads but they still couldn't get the attention of the viewers. Infact, viewers rooted for Jipyeong who isn't involved to the start up business. No hate to Nam ji hyuk. We all know he is one hell of an actor. But the problem was the character Dosan. 1. The way he failed to handle every situation. I mean you break a name plate not thinking about the repercussions you and your company can face in the future? Will this ever happen in real life? You will be booked under workplace harassment and you will pay fine and no one will ever hire you. So please, dosan shouldn't be your role model. 2. The other guy who lost his brother... He is a manchild. I'm sorry to say but that's how the world of business is. Nobody will invest their money on something that doesn't fetch them money. Investors are rude, he should have prepared himself before he thought about starting a company. Jipyeong was just doing his goddamn job. 3. Dalmi is a freking CEO and was so excited to go to Silicon valley that she forgot to read a contract on which she has to sign? Like what???? 4. Injae's screen time was so less but atleast she did a better job than many lol. 5. On the other hand, Jipyeong's character was so real and mature. He was a gentleman and that's why kim seon ho got so much attention nationwide and internationally. I know it's a hardpill to swallow for the haters. I don't know how suzy managed to win Seoul international awards for this story lol. Seo yeji is the real winner but they went for face value.
Facts facts facts!!!!! I mean no hate towards Bae Suzy, she is beautiful but I haven't seen her giving the performance that deserves accolades or awards yet.
no one deserve to hurt jipyeong. I mean his an orphan who knew dalmi's grandma and that money he won+given by the orphanage. he could've become a flop but he endured all the shit by himself and has come to the level now he is in.🥺😭
He has talent. But he was also very lucky to get Grandma's unconditional love - a total stranger to him who he was rude to. He did not do it all by himself. He had luck on his side as well. Good on him for making the most of his luck with his talent & hard work. Other orphans weren't as lucky. Good to see him finally showing compassion towards the less fortunate rather than sticking with the attitude of I earned all of this, I deserve my success & I owe nothing to society, and deserve to treat subordinates & the less fortunate with disrespect.
I think everyone needs a mentor like Mr. Han ji pyeong . He is always ready to help them. He is incredibly intelligent, smart, handsome & off course a good human being. I'm in love with him 💕💕💕💕😘😘😘😘😍😍😍.
The writer of Startup might came up with the idea of... "What if we make the first male lead quality into the second male lead?" "... And let's put the handsome and lovable actor as the first male lead so that fans are going crazy to choose which one they love more" And they succeeded in making the fans go crazy 😂 Seriously, Jipyeong has 100% first male lead quality. He is a hard worker, handsome, rich, selfless, even had a pitiful past. Moreover, the past story started with him. Making this character as the second lead is indeed a smart move so that this drama doesn't become cliche. But my heart breaks for him everytime 😭 he deserves to be happy. It's okay whether he ends up with dalmi or not.
The acting was phenomenal here, I literally had chills all over my arms and tears in my eyes during this part of the episode. You see the pain and horror in Jipyeong's face, god 😭 She is like his own mother/grandma figure 💔
Being young, people are allowed to make mistakes and they are forgiven for those mistakes too... But committing the same mistakes again and again, not acceptable.. These kind of immaturity leads to so many heartbreaks..💔
It's really sad that he got to know it so late, he didnt get to spend time with her in the last moments she could see him, he wouldve felt so guilty 😭😭
Perfect scene really. Dosan cant gulping properly and straighting up hardly with crawling in desperate. Very tough acting. Jipyeong still giving advice calmly and shocked with breathing hardly. Very soft acting. Your different acting ways are perfect, guys! 💓
But Dosan started punching jipyeong was not the right thing tho. Even they are about the same age, jipyeong is still his senior and even his mentor. Dosan shouldn't do this far, and what jipyeong said to dalmi was not wrong too. I really don't like dosan and his friends at this time bcs all'em are blaming jipyeong TT.TT They come to jipyeong only when they need him. But still they didn't respect him at all. Poor him .
Exactly and he seems hate and so mean to Ji Pyeong .. everytime he Sees him.. while i don’t see anything hated from Ji Pyeong to dosan he actually help them a lot in silent.. how gentlemen he is..
Actually in the show dosan is much younger than ji pyeong, both of them have joked before about how ji pyeong is in his 30s while dosan is still in his 20s or sth
Honestly I'm so pissed with this scene, the fight was so unnessary and it made me rethink every other good qualities in Dosan, after this I can only see him as a reckless and childish kid. What right did he have to punch JiPyeong? Didn't all of this accquihire mess happen because of Samsantech? Dosan is the one who's so offensed by JiPyeong's offer, that he doesn't need JiPyeong help because of his own ego, so he got trick that Alex would bring the whole team if he agreed with his offer. And Dalmi was the one who signed the contract without consulating with JiPyeong - THEIR MENTOR. And Yongsan? Don't even get me started🤦♀️Separate your fellings with your work they said, but isn't that what JiPyeong always does and they don't? They treated Jipyeong as if he's a sinner when obviously he's the one who looked over Samsantech more than anyone else, even right from the start without him, their technology would have been robbed. Tbh the only reasons I keep watching this drama is because of HJP, the storyline and lessons about start up but now, everything just seem to be all over the place. For the rest episodes, I just hope the best for JiPyeong.
True to this actually Alex already told Dosan that he cannot bring all of them. Yet he pursue with the contract without thinking or asking Alex twice, what a shame!! I feel really bad for Hjp. Yongsan is also to blame if he didn't stop Hjp from calling Dalmi then Hjp would be their savior again....
@@Kate-wt7sb Yeah and Alex also said he's not a philanthropist, so even if 2STO really did make an acquisition rather than acquihire, there's also no chance for them to continue Noongil. This was the reason why I stopped watching at ep 10. I read comments first before I watch new episode and team Jipyeong were all furious about this fight. I don't wanna end up hating NamDoSan for real so I just dropped the drama and went to marathon 2D1N for Kim SeonHo.

@@belysnicole2492 I don’t like cold guys. Actually, I like nice ones and married to one. I have a huge problem with people trying to portray what he did as a person who showed feeling and emotions. You guys are hugely misguided about that. A guy who cheat in an exam and keeps dwelling about his mistake of cheating instead of admitting to it and taking the responsibility is not a guy in touch with his feelings! A guy who hit, punch and fight his mentor in any respected country such as South Korea will be held accountable to his actions. I had mentors before and the base of the relationship is respect. If I did what he did, I would have been banned from my research and maybe gone to jail! And again that’s not a guy in touch with his feeling. And I’m not going to start with the absurdity of the genius guy they tried to portrayed that goes to the US and becomes big in 3 years and get back rich to his home country! I live in the US and have a genius cousin too who works in those big Silicon Valley companies. Guess what, he never hit a mentor, he would actually have a criminal record for that! he is almost 30 and still at entry level in one of those big companies because he is not that of different with companies attracting talents all over the world. he makes good money but almost half of his income is paid into taxes and he still lives home to be able to save for the future! Also, there is a huge difference between a person being cold and a person being reserved. It looks like many people missing to understand the difference.
Even if you think Ji pyeong was harsh ( which in my opinion he wasn’t), you don’t beat up your superiors/ mentor. Violence is not acceptable. And if Dosan can’t take not sugar coated constructive criticism, which proven most of the time right, since Ji pyeong saved their asses so many times, he should forget about business and start ups.
Jipyong is looser he always insults someone's dream and he think he's always right and kept himself as a successful businessman but he was wrong Nam do san proved him wrong in the end. Nam do san shows us never stop chasing your dream no matter what other says.
This scene gives me split feelings. I understand that Dosan was already upset enough and Jipyeong's words were like rubbing salt into his wound (which is irony, because Jipyeong said some facts at that time because Yongsan asked for it), so I kinda want to understand why Dosan picks a fight with Jipyeong. The anger and emotions have built since long time ago, and this time Dosan just explodes. But I don't justify what he does is correct, though. I just understand enough his feelings at that moment. If he really cares for NoonGil because of Halmeoni, Dosan should trust Jipyeong that he will lead Samsan Tech as mentor for better since the first time. I know, Jipyeong's harsh words hurt and have discouraged them, but I think this is the point where both sides should put their egos behind and be more mature. Jipyeong should learn how to spit out facts without provoking or degrading them with harsh words (he could, but ONLY if necessary. It's his job anyway). Dosan needs to separate his emotions and think clearly before making any decisions, especially when running a business But yeah, if we see those growth already, maybe there wouldn't be enough content for 16 episodes. Growth need process too, so let's see what stories the drama would bring to us for the last 4 episodes.
Except JP's response to NG from the beginng is don't do it because it's unprofitable. JP had not found compassion in his heart, only a debt to Grandma. DS would have had to break his promise to Grandma to convince JP to help. Also, I don't think it's his job as a mentor to be so harsh. As an investor maybe. But not as a mentor. Ms Yoon demonstrated a better way to deliver hard truths. She also understand that not all ventures are about profits & shareholder values. If JP's perspective is 100% right then we should be rooting for IJ instead of DM. But yeah, it would benefit DS to mature professionally. But he has already made big stride as a person from a geek who doesn't get metaphors to taking risks in love and business within the space of a few months. Considering how DM was stuck on an imaginary BF for 15 years I think we shouldn't be harsher on DS than we are on DM.
I'm not sorry for Dosan. He need to admit his mistake instead of throw a tantrum towards Ji Pyeong. Okay. Now give us jipyeong haelmoni scene. I'm ready to cry again. That scene make me bawled my eyes out of nowhere no matter how much I watch it.
Yes if only he admit his mistakes that would make big difference about his character. He always acted like he was a victim. If he admitted, that would be a nice progression proof
What mistake did he do? Jipyong was the first person who approached him! And dosan genuinely wanted to help dalmi. I don't even blame the grandma for starting the letter. It's dalmi mother who should take all the blame😡😡🤬and the fact that she HAD THE AUDACITY TO COME BACK WAOWWWWWW!!!! I CAN'T!!!!!
honestly i don't even understand why people call hjp harsh. I'm someone who doesn't believe you have to be aggressive to get your point across, but the whole time in the show I really admired the way he spoke. Maybe there were a few times he did go a tad bit far, but they were when he was genuinely angry or too personally invested. As a mentor if he didn't speak that way then the company would be ruined. Businesses aren't run with kind compliments and sugarcoating. He speaks the way he does because he KNOWS how to make them succeed. That's why I appreciated Dalmi always saying she found him helpful, and that's why i find the three engineers childish. if i had a mentor like him i'd be so incredibly grateful smh
Gosh Nam joohuyk acting is superb 🥺 my heart goes to him everytime he cries and i hate how people insult him because they dont like his caractere, he even ask him for help for the grandma when hjp didn’t wanted to help them in the first place he love dalmi and her grandma sooo much 🥺🥺😭
IKR. Maybe I'm showing my liberal west feminist bias, but I much prefer a guy who's in touch with his emotion & is full of compassion & empathy than a repressed, arrogant, rich pricks like JP even though I have sympathy for him because of his tough childhood. So glad he grew a bit towards the end of the story. But yeah, DS is my cuppa!
I think we all like ji pyeong because he never ruined the title start up with his feelings for dal mi. ji pyeong never tried to make the other characters put down or tried to break them up for his feelings. While on other hand do-san always made decisions based on him getting closer to dalmi, like the one with Alex. He never gave respect to ji pyeong who helped the start up a lot. those who complain ji pyeong words are harsher, god he is their mentor and a successful person, just to get a piece of advice like that is something to be felt grateful.
What drama were you watching? I saw the total opposite. And JP is not the best mentor for a start up because he only has the cruel investor hat on. Investors are only after profit & shareholder values. Start ups may be about making the world better & unproven technology. JP has no appetite for risk, doesn't know how to harness DS's potentials. Alex would have been a much better mentor since he understand DS's achievements better, though personally I like Ms Yoon as well. JP was nothing but negative with DS & even went as far as wanting them to give away their company to DM, someone who only has HS degree, no proven business track record, haven't slaved away 2 years developing the technology that won them an international prize. How can you be so heartless to think that is fair? Would you give your company away if your were DS? Would you happily accept JP's assessment of you as a loser who should just give up your dreams & get a job? As for JP being more professional & not letting personal feelings run things, first he has to be honest with himself and others that he as feelings for DM. I suppose you're right that initially he didn't do any of the inconvenient & out of character things for DM. But it was still personal - it was for Grandma. Would a professional & rational investor who only has profits in his eyes go out of his way if there wasn't a personal reason for this? Help SST my a**. It was all for his personal reasons. Any benefit they receive was a by-product not his main intention. He has no interest nurturing startups. He turned Ms Yoon's mentorship request downs previously. He denied he ever wanted to be start up's sherpa when DS asked him initially. How can you be so blinded by your bias fo JP? He has less qualification to be a startup mentor than IJ. He had never built a business, only invested in other people's businesses. He could walk away from stuggling startups, where as founders have to make it work. IJ has therelevant business experience. So does Ms Yoon by the sound of it. They both would have been better mentor than JP. Good luck to you if you think JP is what good start up mentors look like. Unless you have the fighting spirit to go against his "advice" you would not have even made a start with his over-cautiousness & put-downs.
@@piakennedy987 I was looking for this comment. It's like everyone is walking around with blinders on insisting he was only doing his job.He wasn't there mentors when he was constantly calling them a loser, they only won whenever they didn't take his advice. He was a total tool.
I get it that Dosan wants to protect Dalmi but there’s no point of fighting with Jipyeong and beating him up like that to prove himself. What’s been done is done.
copypasted from reddit! Just a realization after the 12th episode: You know why people are sympathizing more with HJP? It's not because of his orphan background but because his character always appeared strong despite his sad past. Not once in the past 12 episodes did he use any of his sad parts in life to get sympathy from other people, especially from Dalmi or halmeoni. His orphan background is what we, as viewers, bring up but HJP as a character actually never wanted people to pity him that's why he never brings up his past. And why do a lot of people dislike NDS' character? Because he actually uses sympathy to get out from the consequences of his actions, for people to understand and forgive him. For lying to Dalmi, he makes the apology out of his 'helplessness' because she's "the only good thing" in his life because he has been suffering from guilt and impostor syndrome since he was a child (bus stop scene & his speech to Injae for Dalmi to hear). Then, after punching HJP because he needed to divert his anger on himself to another person, he brings up halmeoni to get his sympathy to help them and for HJP to forget about this punching thing as totally his (NDS) fault. Without that emotional moment about halmeoni, HJP would not feel guilty and could even report NDS to the police for assault over him telling them hard truths as their mentor.
And Just a realization, Ji Pyeong is dishonest with his feelings because of his experience, while Do San, is honest and Innocent because of his nature. It is scary when people highlights other's telling of truth as a form of sympathy seeking, deceit and manipulation while they overly romanticizes someone's choice of words. Please rewatch the drama and analyze the relationship between the two from the beginning. Don't focus on the romance. Ji Pyeong and Dalmi became connected because of Halmeoni and He became connected with dosan because of dalmi. Ji Pyeong and Dosan did not really get along well. It means all the help of Ji pyeong flowed because of dalmi and halmonie. Now, remove dalmi's love story from the equation, let alone just business. I doubt the two will never meet and Ji Pyeong will never become their mentor. I really enjoyed Ji Pyeong's character because he is a person I wanted to be. Meanwhile, I am uncomfortable watching Do San because I can see myself through him. Wa have a side of ourselves we want to change and Do San clearly reflected that. That is why I can say he is more of a relatable character. Please don't hate him. Believe me, we are just like him. We just don't want to admit it. That is why we like Ji Pyeong because we wanted to be like him.
Do San has ager management issues, is always finding excuses for his behavior, he won' take accountability for his actions... To me, at his 28-29 years old... he is is off. Besides, accepting the offer not wanting "a plan B" while Dal-mi is preparing to get investors is exactly going for a plan B...
@@CaliLewisR I agree. I think that’s why I have such a hard time getting behind him as the main lead. Because he reminds me more of a child, not taking responsibility, when he should be an adult. So I see Dal mi always having to carry the relationship rather than having a partner. JP may not be the one for her,but at this point, I’d rather she be alone. She deserves better than this man child.
So this whole drama is crap except han ji pyoung... I literally cried for this character. He is really a good boy and only gentleman in this drama. Hero material
This is why people hate Do San. Do San punches and yells at HJP because Do San said somethings Do San told him to say. At the end, it was Do San's fault this contract went through. He was happy with it. He was okay with it. He thought he was going to get everything without Han because of his jealously. But it was his jealously that lead to this. Remember - he said he didn't want a "Plan B".
He accepts it, that's why in the penultimate chapter he says that he was wrong when he was swimming without a map, but it was also wonderful. Do san is the imperfect protagonist who in the end achieves success against all odds, that is the message of the story and I think it is a very encouraging message for many of us who are a bit like the protagonist !! I don't understand why they dislike this character!
@@asiong2752 What methods? Dalmi's letter were witten by Dalmi's grandmother and Han Ji-pyeong and there was a good intention behind it, I don't think that writing them was a crime. The whole story is full of good messages, about life and work. I don't believe that navigating without a map is a crime, I think it's something liberating, you don't hurt anyone, maybe you go back but then you take impulse to go forward.
@@giulietta3112 how will all of this justify punching hjp? Wait, he did break a name plate at workplace. Wow, that's so relatable, inspiring and also gives a very encouraging message about rage issues😂
@@izzy8674 Was Ji-pyeong sweet to Do-san?I would say he was cruel, and not only to Do-san, he has that way of commenting on others so violent, that caused the death of Kim Yong-sang’s brother; he realized that mistake. I don’t advocate violence, I think Do-san acted immaturely by fighting and venting his anger on Han, too, after a comment Han made at an inappropriate time. Do san is a character that grows in the story, he is not perfect, he fascinated me, I am not perfect either and many times I felt as depressed as Do-san, this character has inspired me not to be defeated.
beating good boy up then asking him for help??? he’s your mentor so wheres the respect??? hjp is the reason why you met dalmi + is at sandbox + found an ambition + got this far and this is how you treat him?? the AUDACITY of nds to ask hjp for help after beating him up and is not in the slightest bit grateful for everything he did for SST as a mentor. #JUSTICEFORJIPYEONG

How many times will this man save a sinking ship , theses guys are just ungrateful being young doesnt make u rude and ungrateful, now i was ok with nds but after ep 8 he is unbearable some people were like hjp was also not there on their demo day yes because it is the responsbility of the people who want to learn to pursue the teacher like dalmi was to ask 400+ questions which he answered , how would they take bullet shots from customers they would drop ur product if it doesnot maintain to their expectation , also hjp is not mean he is relastic and practical Can someone imagine how he must have felt abut it , yes he wanted to invest in a company because of dalmi even if sees no potential, went along with grandma to give the letter to nds because he thinks dalmi is happy , never came in between them and pushed himself onto her because he thinks she ia happy , how many tonnes of sand is he supposed have to protect her , to see the women u are wipped for hitting the ground when it was because of her everyone else ia getting this oppurtunity . Also the character development they gave hjp his growth when he cried and said sorry to grandma for being a jerk , honestly i vibe with him people who seemed to be rude are not mean like he is really selfless he just states fact , where is nds growth in those 3 years which is the leap time and he comes all hotshot and confident wow what a development At this people really love hjp and makers are trying their best to divert attention but nds has some serious story arc issues which cannot be ignored hjp is the key Also acting kim seonho one word is enough what a performance never cried in nds scens when he broke up with dalmi i was like go away and let her be with someone she was actually meant to be the letter nds , but have cried like a baby in his scene, guy deserves all the reconginzation he is getting and deserves several award He is the only one holding this otherwise fizzled drama together nds is actually not really worth it

I'm convinced kdrama producers take amazing actors as second leads cause they know the hallyu stars lack screen presence. I mean both true beauty and startup had such classy and amazing second leads and their acting was top notch. Glad we're noticing second leads too and they're finally getting the recognition they deserve
ok let's see. they don't tell hjp what they're going to do. they sign with alex because they either wanna become successful in the usa or because they don't want to work with hjp anymore because of personal issues. they decide to sign the contract without asking him. when he runs to stop them to HELP THEM they block him. and then when he tells them the consequences of their actions suddenly he's the villain? to the point of literally physically hurting him? and then guilt-tripping him by using the most important person in his life as if that absolves nds of all his mistakes? if i were hjp i'd walk away and never look back fr.
I think the biggest concern of nam is his charisma he might be good at acting but lacks at punch and maybe that is why hjp is much more loved becauae of kim seonho

Since no one else seems to be showing much love to Do-san in most of the comments sections of Start-up lately I'll say it here. Do-san is an amazing humble beautiful caring loving character. His 'flaw' apparently is being genuinely good and not having a tragic childhood. Somehow being good is summed up to being boring and manipulative. Jipyeong always think that he is the smartest guy in the room, don’t care about someone’s feelings. Again, Dalmi called and texted Jipyong so many times to get advise and help before signing the contract after they won the Demo day, he don’t even know they won until he answered Dal Mi’s call. You’re just one of those fans whose hype of the 2nd lead syndrome. 🤷🏽♂️
They are not manipulative, DoSan and Dalmi even rejected Mr. Han’s plan B offer because they don’t want to be complacent that there is someone that can help them even if they lose during the Demo day. It will make them feel that their hard work in sandbox is nothing if they depend on that plan B.
The title is Start Up for a reason, those 5 members are new in starting up a business. Where was their mentor when they needed him? Oh yeah, he’s pretending to be sick after getting caught that he is the Do San that wrote those letters.

Yeah!!!
yes, he deserve happiness😭
I agree with you
He had the unconditional love of a total stranger.
Hoping for happier scene between Jipyeong & Dosan. Stop the fanwar. It’s endless if fans keep pointing out each other’s fault & importance.

Facts bro, absolutely fantasy. Ji pyeong is the most realistic character in the entire show
Facts facts facts!!!!!
Good to see him finally showing compassion towards the less fortunate rather than sticking with the attitude of I earned all of this, I deserve my success & I owe nothing to society, and deserve to treat subordinates & the less fortunate with disrespect.

kudos to Jipyeong still giving business tip after getting punched, since this is a “startup” story and he’s a business mentor...
Idk how to many times ppl gonna say this but KIM SEONHO ACTING IS INSANELY GOOD, HES PRO AF
Even he is beaten he still gave his advice to dosan😭, jipyeong best boy
I think everyone needs a mentor like Mr. Han ji pyeong . He is always ready to help them. He is incredibly intelligent, smart, handsome & off course a good human being. I'm in love with him 💕💕💕💕😘😘😘😘😍😍😍.
I've known and been a fan of Kim Seon Ho through his dramas for the past 3 years. Glad to see he's getting the recognition that he deserves.....❤️
The writer of Startup might came up with the idea of... "What if we make the first male lead quality into the second male lead?"
"... And let's put the handsome and lovable actor as the first male lead so that fans are going crazy to choose which one they love more"
And they succeeded in making the fans go crazy 😂
Seriously, Jipyeong has 100% first male lead quality.
For sure! Very smart! Make the first male lead script for the second lead and the popular actor the first lead looooooool
Really, it reminded me of those reincarnation/transmigration novels where poor unsuspecting main leads are just pushed aside!!

I cry when jipyeong knows that dal mi's grandma is getting to be blind. That scene breaks my heart tho.

It was so childish of Dosan
that was a low blow and that sound ugh must have hurtt. poor ji pyong
Can we get a scene where DS crying ask forgiveness from JP? cause I really want him to regret like that. 🙂
all that sobbing by NDS does nothing to me but damn those teary eyes of HJP and I am a mess😭😭😭😭
Poor him .
Exactly and he seems hate and so mean to Ji Pyeong .. everytime he Sees him.. while i don’t see anything hated from Ji Pyeong to dosan he actually help them a lot in silent.. how gentlemen he is..
plus yongsan the one who ask for jipyeong to put aside the feeling and give the usual knock he gave
Actually in the show dosan is much younger than ji pyeong, both of them have joked before about how ji pyeong is in his 30s while dosan is still in his 20s or sth
they have a reason understand what happened on the first part when they first met jipyeong + the death of his friend's brother
tbh in ep 12 i only liked chulsan because he did acknowledge what jipyeong told them
2:34 His act!! The response that he gave!! He couldn't breathe properly really broke my heart😭😭😭
For the rest episodes, I just hope the best for JiPyeong.
couldn’t agree more
True to this actually Alex already told Dosan that he cannot bring all of them.
The writer'd better make them mature real fast the next 3 years or else this whole start-up thing really is gonna a mess, the mains are too naive to even be in the business
This was the reason why I stopped watching at ep 10. I read comments first before I watch new episode and team Jipyeong were all furious about this fight. I don't wanna end up hating NamDoSan for real so I just dropped the drama and went to marathon 2D1N for Kim SeonHo.

Dosan needs to separate his emotions and think clearly before making any decisions, especially when running a business
But yeah, if we see those growth already, maybe there wouldn't be enough content for 16 episodes.
Considering how DM was stuck on an imaginary BF for 15 years I think we shouldn't be harsher on DS than we are on DM.

honestly i don't even understand why people call hjp harsh.

Both Joo Hyuk and Seon Ho did great job in this scene. Daebak!
He was a total tool.

copypasted from reddit!
Just a realization after the 12th episode:
You know why people are sympathizing more with HJP?
I agree with this reddit comment.
true
We need that Jipyeong crying scene with grandma.

Do san is the imperfect protagonist who in the end achieves success against all odds, that is the message of the story and I think it is a very encouraging message for many of us who are a bit like the protagonist !! well JP won the fight in my eyes... last man to fall, first to get up.... lol..
Agree reason why dosan is next to dalmi is because jipyeong exsist,,
Do San is just the name on the letter,,but the person behind those letters is what matters,,,, So I decide to be team Han jipyeong all the way ,,Han jipyeong from beggining to the end ,no matter what,,he deserve to be happy even without dalmi
Also, Dosan and his friends gaslighting Ji Pyeong, ungrateful jerks.
Ikrrrrrrrr!!!!!!
How many times will this man save a sinking ship , theses guys are just ungrateful being young doesnt make u rude and ungrateful, now i was ok with nds but after ep 8 he is unbearable some people were like hjp was also not there on their demo day yes because it is the responsbility of the people who want to learn to pursue the teacher like dalmi was to ask 400+ questions which he answered , how would they take bullet shots from customers they would drop ur product if it doesnot maintain to their expectation , also hjp is not mean he is relastic and practical
Can someone imagine how he must have felt abut it , yes he wanted to invest in a company because of dalmi even if sees no potential, went along with grandma to give the letter to nds because he thinks dalmi is happy , never came in between them and pushed himself onto her because he thinks she ia happy , how many tonnes of sand is he supposed have to protect her , to see the women u are wipped for hitting the ground when it was because of her everyone else ia getting this oppurtunity .
Also the character development they gave hjp his growth when he cried and said sorry to grandma for being a jerk , honestly i vibe with him people who seemed to be rude are not mean like he is really selfless he just states fact , where is nds growth in those 3 years which is the leap time and he comes all hotshot and confident wow what a development
At this people really love hjp and makers are trying their best to divert attention but nds has some serious story arc issues which cannot be ignored hjp is the key
Also acting kim seonho one word is enough what a performance never cried in nds scens when he broke up with dalmi i was like go away and let her be with someone she was actually meant to be the letter nds , but have cried like a baby in his scene, guy deserves all the reconginzation he is getting and deserves several award
He is the only one holding this otherwise fizzled drama together nds is actually not really worth it
This 100%
This is ridiculous to see some of fans comment bad about the actors bcs of the characters 😂 They just do their work dude
True...they should differentiate acting from personal. I still support and love Nam Joo Hyuk!
hahahaha! true. fans are taking this waaay tooo seriously. haha! Chill guys! Let's just enjoy this KDrama. :) we're all fans after all ;)
those are like the minority tho. If you check this comment section it's pretty much all about the characters.
True.....I love Nam Joo Hyuk... and kuddos to Kim Seo Hoo after long debut with many character Start Up making him famous....hurray
he’s lucky jipyeong didn’t end up suing him. after that smashing incident with the chairman dosan should’ve known better not to use violence to solve his problem lol i’m in fURY
It seems Dosan has serious anger management issues.
he forgot that he is a living buddha
@@msgreentea7189 I remember when he was violent too with Chulsan (who didn’t want to give his share to Dalmi). They are so immature. If Jipyeong didn’t help them they would all fail. Jipyeong asked Dalmi to record the meeting.
@@kenlarasati3771 HAHAHa I complete forgot that they dubbed him living budah 😂 oops went off character there buddy
@@kenlarasati3771 that ‘Living buddha’ just stuck to me in a few episodes because his adult character is clearly NOT a living buddha 😂
I SUPER LOVE START-UP THAT I REWATCH IT EVERY WEEK.
Same here. Sometimes more than once a week.
HJP: You want my help after beating me up like this? Does this make sense to you?
No it doesn't. Not at all. Beating him up for something not his fault was the first nonsense and the audacity to ask help next thing? are we supposed to appreciate all this just because what he's the main lead? idk anymore.
I also like that lines. Most of his lines are meaningful. Touch my heart. Many lesaons can be learned
Talking harsh words to the girl he like is also nonsense!
He is beaten because of his sharp 👅
@@tkvlog5550 he is her mentor lol, and like she said, his words helped her a lot. If she has a problem, she can take it up with him herself, she's perfectly capable of speaking up for herself. She ain't need no Knight in shining armour to beat jipyeong up for her. Just admit that Dosan is immature, childish and has anger problems lol.
@@tkvlog5550 how is telling criticism and facts harsh? Yes he could have said things in a less harsh way and also what's so wrong about telling Dalmi criticism? That's his job, he isn't like that one male lead who's immature and likes to involve his personal feelings with work
Ouch....JP...he us still so professionally giving advice to dosan n he also acknowledge dosan IT skills. Why can't DS appreciate him instead of always hostile to JP
Please stop glamorizing punching or violent attacks hahaha don't justify dosan's actions
Agree
NOW SWOON UPLOAD THE SCENE BETWEEN JIPYEONG AND HALMEONI IF YOU WANT 1 MILLION VIEWS
YES
lmaooo yess swoon if u want millions of views upload all jidal scenes from ep1 😆😆🤣
am actually thinking. why are they not uploading that scene?
@@darcyestefan737 because jipyeong & halmeoni are not main leads~~
@@alyssajohan5167 i know right😄. that was the highlight of the episode 12 for me. been waiting for that scene and i can't help but cry watching it.
I love Seonho and Joo Hyuk, they did great in this scene (as always)
Kim Seon ho is sooooo good and natural here!!!
Koreans are also pissed with this scene and story so we're all in this together haha
Yes lol haha. I thought it's gonna focused on businnes things, then suddenly everything like becoming-success-together-series 😅
@@twiceina6602 lol same I thought it would be about Seo Dal Mi and Won In Jae's rivalry in business and family drama lol
Who knows that WIJ even got much lesser time screen than SDM, HJP, and NDs
why?
@@lyrahazel2079 But now the sisters have almost made up, so it's time for the guys to forget about enmity and live happily and be friends!
Start - Up remains to be #1 in Netflix for PH and everybody is excitedly awaiting the remaining episodes. It is wholesome ... the struggles and challenges of each character in the story are worth contemplating and which can be turned into positive insights for young adults.. The romantic side of the story is necessary to break the monotony and add spice to the story which is well- written by my Fav script writer... #Just expressing my views♥️ #namjoohyuk#baesuzy
This show has a talent every episode it has, making me, a grown man, cry my fucking ass out.
Shhhh, don't let JP stans see this confesssion! They'd label you a crybaby loser! But I applaud you for having a heart & not afraid to engage with emotions.
Seon Ho baby 😭
Please make a happy ending for him. At least something, he doesn't need to have Dalmi.
Holyyyy the acting here is .... ughhh 😭😭😭😭😭😭 I’m literally hurting watching these two.
The irony is in the beginning of the show we see Han Ji-pyeong begging Nam Do-San to act as him for grandmas sake. Now it’s reversed. Nam Do-San is begging Han Ji-pyeong for grandmas sake.
Didn't we all fell in love with Jipyeong's character.
The look on Ji Pyeong's face 😭😭
Seeing them fighting was a heartbreak moment for me 😭
it's been more than a year but im still here
Damn Kim seon ho oozes so much charisma that Nam joo hyuk fades out.imagine dominating njh in all aspects.seonho really is a great actor
I think the biggest concern of nam is his charisma he might be good at acting but lacks at punch and maybe that is why hjp is much more loved becauae of kim seonho
@@abhipsapanigrahi2079 njh eyes sometiems seems soulless. He is poor at acting compared to seon ho
Oh my God.. It's their character.. Why are you targeting the actors? It's not even like you're the ones acting so why are you criticizing so much? You're not even in their place.. Just because you like the other person does not mean you can downgrade others...
@@reikiriyama977 just because of this one drama series, you are concluding? You're too biased.. Have you even seen all of his movies? I guess not.. So how can you criticize that much? You probably have seen only this drama because of what you're saying.. I think you should do a movie marathon and see for yourself... Hypocrite
@@abhipsapanigrahi2079 wow so what if they change places and change characters? What do you think will happen.. It's how they portray their character.. I bet if they change places hahaha you will change your bias.. Don't justify your answer because I know you willl.. It's how people's mind work
Since no one else seems to be showing much love to Do-san in most of the comments sections of Start-up lately I'll say it here. Do-san is an amazing humble beautiful caring loving character. His 'flaw' apparently is being genuinely good and not having a tragic childhood. Somehow being good is summed up to being boring and manipulative. I didnt plan to be testy but i just get so annoyed with the unwarranted hate and lack of empathy Do-san has been getting. He's also imperfect like everyone else but apparently it's like he's not imperfect enough or something. Anyway Do-san deserves the world and I hope he gets it.
Thank you finally i read something good about him. I’m tired of people saying he manipulates and other bad things that i have not seen anywhere.
Many toxic JP fans demonize him just so they can make JP stand out when the truth is they are both flawed well- written characters.
Probs to Nam Joo Hyuk in this scene. Nam Do San is doing his best to convey the secret he held onto while trying to not break down from the shit that just happened earlier in the episode.
Joo hyuk portrayed his character too well too that god knows how much i wanted to punch dosan in this scene
Did I just fell in love with Nam Joo hyuk all over again ❤️😘
Very emotional fight scene, but was it necessary for Do San to beat on JP? JP has been guiding them all this time and what does he get????? Then he is the last to know about grandma loosing her sight...
Dosan is afraid that dalmi would commit suicide when she heard the cold hard truth opinion from jipyeong. That's why he punched jipyeong, saying "Do you have to tell her that??"
I'm not defending dosan. That's just what i perceive when i watched the scene. 😅
@@owllip773 then he should've punched yongsan, the one who asked jipyeong to say those things.
@@zhkdlsoo Agreed. And I absolutely do not like how the topic of suicide is carelessly tossed around in this drama. It is a sensitive topic that should be handled with care.
@@zhkdlsoo They should have asked Ms Yoon. She would have been much more tactful & helpful. No one would have got punched. JP needs to take a crash course on effective mentoring with Ms Yoon. He still has his harsh investor hat on too often.
Its usually grandma to the rescue but now we need to it for the grandma
