gotta love astrophysics am i right? The Bootes void is pretty cool, also this is my first video so tell me what you think in this lazy sorta infotainment style of content.

Telescopes. To map out the intergalactical space you need to know how far away are said galaxies. You can do just that by measuring redshift. What is redshift? Redshift is an effect that causes light to get shifted towards the red, this is caused by the fact that the universe itself expands, stretching out light waves.
That's why I usually say that we aren't so insignificant as people make us out to be. Yes things are a lot bigger then us, and the distances are vast, but for us to be able to see and grasp billions of light-years is quite the feat on it's own.
Quantum computing is definitely one I’d love to do, I plan on doing pretty much anything science and maybe even philosophy related, however this weeks will be about relativity so it might seem like I just do space which I just realized 😅 thanks for the support and feedback though means a lot! :)
@@this.scienceon that note, since you just did the Quantum PC one, what about anti-gravity propulsions possibilities of substituting the approach of flying - such thing will be ofc possible once Quantum Thoery of Gravity comes into reality… (you might see me leading this) 👌🏽
Scientifically I feel like chances are impossible. We definitely might be alone in our lifetime but there is 100% another planet out there that's probably almost exactly like earth. Space is fascinating.
That's crazy, I didn't realize there was such a large void like that..!! Pretty darn good first video.. 👍 Well done on the channel, give it time, keep posting.. 😀
Nice video, great work. This channel is so underrated, you make every complicated thing sound so easy to understand. Amazing !!! Hope you’ll make a longer video next time
Hey I am doing a PhD in cosmology, more specifically primordial black holes, so I know this stuff pretty good, I have done the math behind all of this and i wanted to say this video is a really good vulgarisation of what we currently know about the early universe and structure of it, great job 👏🏻
@@TheEGames I am not an astronomer, I actually don't look at images from telescope or things like that so I am not able to point out mistakes on the illustrations :/. Obviously I don't know every interesting things/regions/structure/phenomena discovered in astronomy, I mainly know about my topic : Primordial Black Hole as dark matter in a Lambda CDM universe. Even in this specific field I have much more to learn. However I am very aware of the Big Bang theory scientist developed over the past century and yes indeed the universe look like a sponge with clusters and voids. We explain this spatial distribution through quantum fluctuations and I just wanted to say that his explanation are both easy to understand and consistent with the actual Big Bang model. And honestly it can be quite easy an useless to tear down a vulgarisation video on cosmology (not astronomy, this video is about space distribution of matter, not that much about Bootës void) with their illustration, for example : when he said that the universe was playing pong with photon, he use CMB illustrations which correspond to the moment where photon were released, the moment universe became transparent so the moment universe stoped playing ping with photons. This illustration isn't consistent with what he is saying but that does not matter in a 4min vulgarisation video as long as what he is saying is grossly exact.
first video uploaded a month ago and the dude is already at 70k. That's just insane bro. UA-cam's algorithm recognizes quality content, keep up the good work!!
I only recently discovered this channel but I need more videos I just went to the channel subscribed and binged all of the vids and now I’m slightly less awkward and know how to build a quantum computer
Very fascinating and an interesting explanations of some difficult to comprehend facts about our Universe. The only critique I would suggeste, is I would've likes a little better, if you had used something like the Earth, Moon, or Sun to give us an idea of the size of the Bootes void..
It should be noted that the picture used in this video is actually not the Bootes void, but instead a photo of Barnard 68, something completely different. Barnard 68 is a nebula which absorbs most all incoming light that tries to pass through it, which is why it looks so dark in that picture. The actual photo of the Bootes void is much less impressive to the untrained eye, as space is not just a background image and there are galaxies in front of and behind the Bootes void that stop us from taking a photo of just the void.
Good vid
thanks :)

@@polishkerbal6920 Still impressive that people who live on a small dot can manage to map out a 3D version of galaxies millions of AU away.
@@PurePain_1 Trust me its not that hard to see galaxies if you have a fairly decent telescope, a tracking mount and a long exposure camera
Still a bit of guesswork and imagination, a bit like ancient maps with 'here be dragons' written on them
