Welcome to Peterson Family Farm. On this UA-cam channel, we plan to show viewers what happens on a real life family farm in Kansas. From working with animals, to planting seeds, to harvesting grain, to putting up hay, to fixing equipment, you'll get to see what farming is like! Our farm is a 5th generation farm started in 1882 by our great great grandparents. We grow wheat, corn, soybeans, milo, sunflowers, and forages and we feed about 1,000 head of cattle. To learn more about it, watch our channel intro video here: • Welcome to Our New You...

We normally can't spray our wheat with 28 % nitrogen until late March due to snow here in Michigan. We then will spray it again in early May with 28% . Then in late/ mid may we do a fungicide application. We are growing more wheat soybeans and black edible beans this year instead of corn. Honestly our wheat acres are the most profitable as we double crop beans after wheat. Great video keep up the good work!

Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. Good one.
Lots of jobs to do on the farm this time of year.
Good going on the winter wheat spraying. Good to have that behind you. Thanks for rundown on your spray mixture. Interesting.
Having the Peterson family represented at the national farm prayer meeting will be wonderful. Will be thinking of you that attend. Great event for you to be asked to attend. Know you and family will do great.
Lots of odds and ends jobs on the farm this time of year. Thanks for the rundown on what you are up to.
All for now. You all take care and be safe. Thanks for everything.

Very informative as to use your fertilizer when you can get it and when weather permits, even though it may be a month early! Seems the pollen count is a month early too from my red, watery eyes and sinus congestion, unfortunately. Will be almost 70 here today in North Central Oregon, but no snow on the horizon for us. We got all ours in late December and early January, but it's only been a week since the last of it melted. Your sunsets on that flat horizon in Kansas are very beautiful! Glad to see all 3 of you brothers on this video! Great work, guys!

There goes 90 plus $ per acre unless you bought it last September!! Fertilizer is ridiculous price wise!!

I think in the '50's and '60's, the ground would have been snow-covered and frozen!

Well I’m a little jealous. We have had snow on the ground for three months. January and the beginning of February has been cold. Averaged about minus ten to fifteen below at night and about twenty above in the afternoon. My son and I bought a older rogator and been trying to find a auto steer that doesn’t cost more than the machine. Dealers we have tried to work with drop any contact when we try to give them an idea what the machine came with. My son is getting really frustrated because if you don’t want to buy the expensive stuff they don’t want to know you. Have any suggestions?
