If we're so rich then how come we ain't got no ceiling?" *Camera pans out shows the studio ceiling* Breaking the 4th wall is nothing new.
Word choice, setting, and delivery. It just fits much better here in a comedic Saturday cartoon setting, and therefore isn’t cringe, especially when the word choice isn’t “im seeing freaking dragons”

Either by design or simply that a small studio had no budget for marketing. I mean, at times it is a great thing to not hype things up and oversell your product. Cause we've seen a dozen times over....they fall flat on their faces. Some do pick themselves up, improve, and become success. Just there are those out there who are so sour faced after seeing a bad first impression. They still, call a rebound success story a failure story.....maybe they need to check themselves on that kind of thinking. Yet, that cutscene transition. Geez. More devs need to take notes.

Hi-Fi Rush is a new IP, no reason at all why it should be released outside of the Xbox ecosystem. And I wouldn't say it sucks anyway. Microsoft owning all these ips means all of them can be played on gamepass on PC, Xbox and cloud, far more options than most Sony games offer.

Imagine getting universal acclaim in whatever you do for a living. To the point it gets recognized by your whole industry, and a year later you get laid off for financial reasons. That is this game in a nutshell.

That's one reason live-service games have dominated the industry for so long, if you put out a tight 20 hour game with a solid ending then folks can only talk about it for so long before it's forgotten in favor of the next thing.
Even with the year starting weak withh big launches being boring, this masterpiece is getting thrown hard under the radar, hope that more people gave it a chance to show love for games that deserve the support
I'd say this year is a mixed bag. You got garbage like Forspoken but also this game and Dead Space remake. Then, we got Velma, which is the worst rated show on IMDB but also The Last of Us, which is critically acclaimed and faithful to the games. So yeah, mixed.

But you can get the Original for a few bucks and it looks almost the same with some tweaking. Resident Evil 2 and Silent Hill a remakes. Dead Space is an "up to date" remastered.

I play a lot of games, of all kinds, and lets be real, videogames stories are not made to be seen in a theater, they are made to be played and interacted with. (Surely there are examples of a nicely translated game to movie or other medium, but sadly the majority of those movies/series are just about the money AND nothing else...)

Dude I love stuff like this. When I found out XC3 had something similar with the boss fights I was so happy but it's not nearly as smooth as this. This is almost SEAMLESS
This game was actually amazingly well made. The anime art style and the rhythmic gameplay was super satisfying, as were many of the cutscene and game transitions. I played through the game with Japanese dialogue with English Subtitles and it fit very well. There's even a few jokes/puns and references (and yes, there's a REALLY good Jojo reference at one point) throughout the game that are better understood with Japanese audio
I was playing Gotham Knights co-op and my friend and I were fighting enemies in an elevator. It was down to one enemy left and my friend as Red Hood grabbed the enemy and tossed him right at the control panel which killed him and INSTANTLY the cutscene started with Red Hood tossing him at the exact same spot with the exact same rag-doll and movement, it was kinda of crazy how exactly and perfectly the seamless transition happened
Ahh now i remember that seamless moment in The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles: Resolve when van Zieks just turned and started /walking/ magical most seamless transition ive ever seen (admittedly this makes more sense if you're an AA fan)
By what I see, there is 3 cutscene in this cutscene, the first one is the transition from gameplay to in engine 3D cutscene, it then transition during the flip to 2D animation and then transition back into game engine 3D to back into gameplay. Talk about transitioning. Also, Rekka is in 2D and the robot is 3D and given how well it meshes, you know they have put a lot of work and love into this. P.S.: the only other media I remember seeing this amount of changes in medium and techniques was Terminator 2. Good movie, VFX reference.
