Written January 26, 2024 I have the M1 iPad Air 256GB and theirs no reason to upgrade. Like you said, The M1 iPad is overkill for 99% of everything on the AppStore so While people will always want to upgrade to the newest model, a newer chip really won’t make a difference in any app unless you plan to keep the M1 for 10 years to really see a difference on older vs newer iPad tech
I bought the 11” Pro M1 new for my birthday, it is ridiculously powerful still, runs every single game and app in the App Store, and the battery life is still pretty good too. I have gigabit internet and my iPad Pro gets around 760 mbps max over WiFi 6.
@@Ireene497 WiFi only. I see the point in the cellular ones though if you need it. Does make it a bit more of its own device like a phone then and obviously a lot more portable.
Still rocking my 11 inch m1 iPad Pro. Performance wise, it runs literally anything I open. I used this iPad a lot in my school and it got work done without any problems. Battery wise is alright, a bit dookie at times, but overall good. Definitely recommend to anyone who’s thinking of getting an iPad Pro.
I currently own the M1 IPad Pro 11 inch version and after seeing the ¨New¨ipad pro thinnest iPad Pro ever , this M1 version actually aged quite well and especially still having the ultra wide camera makes me think the new thin iPad Pro is probably a downgrade even though it has the M4 chip. For those of thinking of getting an iPad Pro, I would suggest just getting the M1 version or even the M2 iPad Pro
Great video thanks. I just tied in my 2021 M1 11 iPad Pro with Music Magpie. Was going to sell to get the new 2024 iPad but now am thinking just stick with my M1. Even if the 2024’s get OLED screens, the M1 will still be good enough.
I totally get your critique of the M1 iPad. I have that model myself. The only reason was for the external display support and the extra storage on the base model.
as long as iPad OS is crippling the real power of the M series chips, I don’t think upgrading matters. Will there be improvements? Yes, but for a small niche of users.
2017 ipad runs the latest update brother Providing that this iPad is literally faster than majority of laptops in the market you'll be fine for at least 6 more years..
ive had my 13" since 2021 i felt like the m series chip was a big enough difference to a series to justify purchase , i love my ipad and have no interest in upgrading anytime soon
wondering if i should get one my self, my work is discounting refurbished ones to $257, and they are good for having pretty much brand new devices sold as that. i bought a 16 inch macbook m2 pro for $799 the begginning of the year and it only had 12 battery cycles.

Mine is still kicking- strongly if I must say.
Is it cellular or only wifi model ?

What are you main use on it and how’s the battery held up so far? Is there any battery issues or so?
I was able to find this iPad actually at a place that sells movies and electronics used and this was an excellent condition. I got it for like $405.
Great find!
That is a literal steal
At Apple they sell it cerified refurbished which is basically brand new for $549 now! I really wanna go for it
Wow what a deal on a still amazing iPad!

Got mine December 2021
And I’m bias
It’s the goat lol
Is it worth upgrading “iPad pro M1” ipadOS 15.6 to ipadOS 17
Yes
There’s cool widget functionality for iPad so it’s worth even though older iPads get a decrease in battery
as long as iPad OS is crippling the real power of the M series chips, I don’t think upgrading matters.

is it still worth buying in 2024?
provided apple will stop updating it in few years

Is just me or the m1 ipad pro's battery drains quickly now?😭
and i thought i‘m the only one thinking that… it definitely noticable that the battery dies faster.. and i still have 91% capacity…
Mine still seems fine.🤞
