AWESOME looking boat. How does it paddle though for flat water with some chop? For instance, I fish the shallow inshore flats in Florida. Will it paddle poorly in those conditions since it is not in a lot of current?
This kayak is wide and stable giving it a large surface area and phenomenal primary stability. As far as the light chop goes there should be no issues as it does have a little rocker on the front to push it upwards over the waves.
The XC is exceptionally stable and if you are not interested in electronics you can easily swap the electronics pod for the deck plate for more room for activities :) (Both are included in the purchase of the kayak)
The comparisons are only between the three kayaks listed Predator - Best paddling, lower primary stability, better storage access Slayer XC - Higher primary stability, cockpit versatility, Retractable skeg, easy transducer install Lure 13.5 - most adjustable seat, open cockpit, easy transducer install, toe control rudder (if using a rudder)
Thanks for the responses. The market is getting flooded with great paddle SOT fishing yaks. Old Town just released the Top Water 120 model. I fish inshore on the Texas Bays. I’m looking for something that will get me from point A to B quickly (not a tank)and something I can stand up in occasionally to stretch those legs or Scout for tailing Redfish
They should have left the pedal option open to people should they want to go on larger water , at 36.5 inches wide prob won't be the greatest for paddling open windy water and river current , i had a nucanoe frontier 10 at 38'' wide , i was pretty limited on distance paddling..lol Now have the nucanoe flint which is awesome on rivers or anywhere. I do like that slayer xc , just wish the pedal option was there.
Damn they REALLY need to make this for the Slayer Max series. I’d buy one immediately.
Can you add a trolling motor to the back?

Nice overview! What is the primary difference of the XC to the Slayer Pro? Thanks
The primary difference between the Slayer XC and the Slayer Pro are that the Slayer XC is 6" wider and has a removable center pod.
@@everythingkayakbicycles9975 Is the Slayer 12 XC a tri-hull/cathedral hull design? Or what type of hull design is it?
What other Native would you recommend if you Don’t want electronics, pedals, but do want a nicer layout ?
What feature are you looking for?
Everything Kayak Info , Comfort, stability, fishablility, Quality , .

Can’t decide between XC, Lure 13.5 or old town Predator 13.2. Any opinions...? Thanks in advance

Bonafide SS127 or the WS ATAK 120/140
Can you put the native rudder on it
Due to it having the drop down skeg, it is not ready to accept a rudder.

Propel Drive'able?
Jason Crabb not an option at the moment but I imagine with the cutout for the transducer something will become available.
No, this model does not except the Propel Drive system.
They couldn’t spend .10 cents on latches for the 2 compartments hahahaha what a joke
Looks ULTRA CHEAP AND A TYPICAL CAR SALESMAN
