Ribwort Plantain is a very dark green, slender perennial, growing much taller than Common plantain. Its leaf-blades rarely reach an inch in breadth, are three to five ribbed, gradually narrowed into petioles, which are often more than a foot long. The flower stalks are often 2 feet long. Common Names of Ribwort: Long Plantain, Ribble Grass, Snake Weed, Lamb’s Tongue)
-Both the Common Plantain and Ribwort have the same medicinal value and are used in the same way.
-It may be used instead of Comfrey in treating bruises and broken bones.
-It’s known to be wound healing, and known to lower inflammation
-It is a seemingly miraculous poultice for stopping the pain of spider and snakebites, bee stings and other insect wounds and draw out their stingers and poisons.
-Plantain It is high in Vitamin A,B, C and K, and high in minerals (Calcium, iron, silica, phosphorus, magnesium, selenium, zinc, high levels of potassium, sulphur).
🌿🌿Plantain Salve🥣🫙
1. Harvest and dry leaves
2. Add dried Plantain to Olive/Avocado oil and let sit for 4 weeks to infuse
3. Melt 4 ounces of Beeswax over double broiler
4. Take it off heat, mix in 2 cups of Plantain Infused Oil and 1 Tablespoon of Vitamin E oil!
🥣🌱 Use this salve for dry skin, rashes, insect stings,insect bites, lip balm, sunburn and more!

It’s pretty sturdy! The first time I dug with it, I went deep all around the plant and it held up. I’ve bent a lot of shovels in the past 😂
