People don’t look and realize that Oregon had the #1 passing offense in the country last year with the most passing TDs. Lanning is a defensive minded coach, but Will Stein gets the ball to his receivers
plus Junior Adams is probably a top 2 wide receivers coach in college football along with Hartline. Evan Stewart likely played a big role as well

He wasn’t offered the Bama job. The guy who clowned him twice in one year was offered the Bama job. Oregon is an all flash, no substance stepping stone school. Just like Cristobal, lanning will dip at the 1st chance.

Oregon has Junior Adams. He put in the NFL Cooper Cupp and Puka Nacua. The man knows what he is doing. Oregon adds two highly rated 5* receivers in this class to last years amazing receiver class that included Jurion Dickey. At Oregon at least two receivers per year are guarantee 1,000 yard seasons. I am glad to see this young man go where he can develop best.

I'm an Oregon fan. Ecstatic with this get. I have to say, however, I really enjoy listening to Bobby Burton and Gerry Hamilton. Very pragmatic and skilled at what they do. I used to live in Texas, so I know how serious they take their football. You all will do just fine with your recruitment. Keep up the good work.

@TDHookem you're wrong. 1st round draft picks focus on how quickly they can get to the field and be the #1 option. DK knows Ringo will be #1, and he's 5"11. He'll be a slot in the league. He has to maximize his opportunity at this level. We have a host of them. Let's get one of the 6'1 or above receivers that provides a different option for Manning. Truthfully, we're not going to get a top-tier receiver until 2027 because we're stacked!! Focus on the interior DL. That's where we lag!!
Oregon doesn't need to flash Lamborghinis in the recruits faces prior to walking into the training facilities. Rather, the founder of Nike himself can tell you his plans of you being endorsed once you're pro. Oregon NIL has nothing to do with it for the top tier athletes who want to set up their marketing ASAP.

meh, it's an opportunity for a young man to see a different part of the world. He's looking to make his own mark. It could also be that he saw Ryan Wingo, he saw Johntay Cook, etc. He may be doing the math and seeing he may not see playing time right off the bat. I mean Cook didn't even see a lot of playing time last year.
I'll never fault a kid for wanting to try something new. If anything, he also may be thinking that he'll see less talented Big 10 corners compared to SEC corners, so it might make him look better.

This a waste of a recruiting cycle. Huge misses DK Moore, Devin Sanchez, Jonah williams, Dorian brew, riley pettijohn. How did we get 11 people drafted, and a college football appearance and it turn into literally zero recruiting momentum. This is turning out to be a huge missed opportunity.

Chris Jackson is more than fine. You won't get every big targets if those targets only focus on NIL. There's only so much money you can give. NIL talks, but the problem for Texas is that the One Fund is already funding a ton of people across all sports. They need a corporate donor to do the heavy work, like how Nike is collaborating with Oregon right now. The One Fund isn't going to splash 7-figures on one single guy, but a corporation will.

Oregon has multiple good seasons. Texas just had one last season, but it's going to need to stack a couple more successful years in a row to truly "gain momentum."

Oregon may not have the typical NFL offense but they had two receivers last year that went over 1000 yards so he knows he’s gonna be productive in the offense

Sark needs to figure these kids out earlier in the process to find out if they are just playing Texas. You don't see Georgia or Alabama 'playing the long game' and they are the Gold Standard of recruiting. They did it last year and it was a minor miracle to just get to #6
Georgia and Bama carpet bomb the country with offers to everyone. HS players in Georgia and all throughout the South understand that UGA and Bama only have so many openings and jump on them right away. For whatever reason, Sark's philosophy is to selectively recruit, however, if you miss out on too many of your selective targets, your class will tank.

If he doesn't want to be a Longhorn we don't need him. There's a lot of great players right now at Texas. He doesn't like to compete against great players. This reminds me of what happened when Hudson committed to Texas Tech. Texas finished with a great recruiting class.

This is a false statement. Do research. Look at Oregons recruiting classes the last several years. They are full of 4/5 star players. Oregon has the #3 class in the nation.

Always do the best with what you have. Having said that, it isn't a good look when you can't land the #1 prospect in your state on a consistent basis. You think Georgia doesn't land the #1 prospect in Georgia or Ohio State in Ohio? They don't have that problem. One of the main reasons USC hasn't been elite for awhile is because they can't keep their best talent in-state.

This is Lazy. Oregon has 2 other 5 star WRs in the same class as Moore. They have a 5 star redshirt sophomore who might be WR5 this year. Oregon will be just as stacked as anyone at WR.

Oregons offense is looking like a machine, they are going to be scoring lots of touchdowns.
Not against elite defenses or just a team that can get to the QB. They will do fine in their conference but will fall if they make the playoffs. They're not gonna win a NC anytime soon.

Gerry loves to push "Recruit thru the whistle". That will have to be the focus going forward as Texas is ranked #23 in 2025 recruiting, Oregon ranked #5 thanks to pilfering Texas's top recruits. All their rivals are ranked much higher and lowly SMU is ranked ahead of Texas. Get the whistles ready!

Sark gets the benefit of the doubt from a QB vantage point, but who else has that same cache? Flood and maybe Choice...that's it. We have to earn our due. Dan Lanning turned down Alabama last season to sign a long term extension at Oregon.
Why on earth would he leave the juggernaut he's building to randomly take a job at UF? He has 0 connections to the program or area.
It’s starting to seem that Oregon, Texas A$M, Oklahoma, LSU, Florida St, and others are targeting the Texas recruits that they are needing and coming in hard late right before committing to throw money and promises at key recruits to steal them before they commit to Texas. Numerous players are rumored to be trending to commit to Texas and another school swooped in late with Longhorn’s fans scratching our heads and finishing second place in the recruitment. Texas is winning out on some because the player like Wingo or Simmons wanted Texas more than the NIL promises from late poachers in my opinion. Even portal guys are being poached late when Texas leads like Oregon and Oklahoma got guys wanted at DT last December. Very frustrating and Sark should rethink his NIL negotiations to stop some poachers who think that Texas will stop negotiating at the end if they don’t feel it’s worth it to compete is how it looks to me. Sark’s strategy of making NIL the last thing that he discusses is great because you want to know which guys want to truly play for Texas and which ones care more about money and who wants to pay the most, but finishing second for elite top needed recruits will have Texas step up their NIL game or these ugly recruiting loses will happen again and again with the rug pulled out from under Texas feet. Georgia is getting the guys they want and rarely lose guys with flips or with NIL bidding, same with Ohio St and Alabama, they step up and get most of the recruits that they want. This is Sark’s decision on taking recruiting to a higher level and I am not giving up on this 2025 class or Sark’s ability to get it done. He needs to recognize what is happening and go big, we will see what happens.

Personally I think all the Crystal Balls and RPMs made him want to go against the grain. Sometimes those things a counter productive.
