that hit me hard.
Mission log Phobos base - Day 187: The oxygen generator has stopped working again, narrowed down the issue to the CPU board in the Modular Electronics Controller Unit this time. I used my only spare a week ago on the main power bus unit after that one got fried by an electrical short following the crash. The same incident also took out the orbital relay dish as previously mentioned. Attempts to reestablish satellite uplink today using the short range transmitters has been unfruitful, it was a long shot I suppose, but worth a try. In regards to the O2 generator issue, there is a another unit with a compatible board in the rover which I can see lying on its side some distance from the Eastern viewport, it seems mostly intact from here however I am unable to reach it as the environment suits are kept in hab 3 and the connecting tunnels from hab 1-2 and 1-3 were destroyed when the supply ship's propellant and oxidizer tanks went up, I am completely isolated here. I can see fragmentation damage to both other habs from here and they appear to have both depressurized. Mission Commander Hamilton, Mission Specialist Williams and Mission Specialist Wehrner... are presumed deceased at this point. Will try cleaning the board and connectors for the generator in hopes of restoring functionality, If the unit is still nonfunctional after this I calculate there is enough left in the reserve tanks for maybe a week. If anyone recovers these logs sometime in the future, let my family know. Tell my wife and kids that I am sorry and... I tried.

Flux helps the heat spread easily on the board and also protects them from heat ,Another function of flux is this

What type of flux is that? The regular orange brownish stuff dries out too quick

And people say that humans today couldn’t build the pyramids, or that humans today can’t build the amazing gothic architecture of the past. The amount of detailed that needs to be put together for a cpu to function is incredible. Not to mention all the other components of a device and how to fit them all in the palm of your hand.

I assume you're one of my team mates crying about lag as an excuse to their 0-15 stats, if you're able to find similarities between CPUs and bricks
No one is saying that humans today couldn't build the pyramids, we totally could. However if you took away all our machines and tools and left us with only the tools that they were supposed to have back then (according to current accepted history), then we couldn't even come close to building them. That's the paradox people talk about. All the accuracy and precision needed that you just can't get with the basic tools they are supposed to have.

MT6572 processor made me feel so nostalgic. I used to have some Android 4.0 devices that time with this chipset.

It's a ball grid array processor set up. Typically found in laptops they are CPUs that are just soldered right into the motherboard itself saves space downfall is you need to know how to do this if you wish to upgrade or replace the chip. Awesome video! ♥️♥️

If that board worked after the manual chip replacement that's either impressive skill, luck or a bit of both. I'll use a rework robot and get it right first time, every time, though.

The only things looking broken was that 2 chips underneath with the black plastic falling off them that are to the right of the bottom left chip

Блин, а я вот вообще например никогда не понимал, почему шары находящиеся так близко друг к другу и не спаиваются и не замыкаются, так как иногда чип кладут не идеально контакт к контакту когда припаивают, может я тупой, хотя сам паять умею, но не чипы

поставил на паузу и полез в комменты, на моменте нанесения флюса на верх чипа!
upd: а вот вижу, склейка кадра, оказывается флюс на чипе не помогает отпаять его, смотрим дальше =)
upd2: посадочное под чип очищено как попало.
upd3: если я правильно рассмотрел, то старые шары с чипа не снимались, и это пздц, про посадку я ваще молчу, где то во время посадки случился факап, и кадр опять склеили как в случае с флюсом в начале.
Короче в видосе всё прекрасно xD

Да, это гениально наносить флюс сверху проца, а не по периметру)
А что не так? Я не пробовал такого, но полагаю, что расплавляясь на корпусе, флюс затекает под него и никуда более. А если нанести по периметру, то потоком воздуха его разгонит по всей плате

Never, EVER drag solder wick across pads like that. That's how you lift traces and destroy pads. You need to dab the wick.

try changing the chipset instead of MTK, but one equivalent to the MTK, for example Kirin / Snapdragon / Exynos. will it run.

Noo these different processes have different architecture

As long as the pin is same, the hardest part is to reprogramming the firmware so it can connect to other chip, like IO to storage chip and rams.
