I am just watching this Roy because this is one of the very few videos about Bridport on UA-cam! I see it has done very well in number of views now some two and a half years later. I have filmed a Short Bite here, which I'll put out in a few days. I used my little pancake lens to film because it was very busy when I was there and lots of people were looking at me too. The town centre has a different mix of people to the suburb of West Bay (Bridport Harbour as was). They are more used to photographers there! After visiting the town, I have, to be honest, mixed feelings about it, which I am picking up what you picked up there too. I managed to get some street photos, and I loved looking at the history of the town, of which there was a lot. Great video and you captured the town well - it is never easy when the town is busy. Hope you are having a good week. Take care, Paul
When you showed the front of Dr Roberts shop I thought you said ' The bowels, folks. The bowels!' When you went on to say 'follow me' I thought we were heading off to a public convenience 😂Enjoyable stroll, Roy.
Hi Christine thanks for comment , yes i had a good day in bridport ,i was in weymouth last week was thinking of another visit going on the bus ,but due to the hot weather i did not go ,hopefully i will have another look round ,when im that way 👌👌👌👌
I was also born and brought up in Bridport (as were all of my family). It used to be a lovely place to live but from the 70's it started to decline when housebuilding went mad. Sadly incomers moving to the area pushed up prices excluding many of us locals from being able to afford to stay here. As Roy says, there's miserable people about. Unfortunately the incomers are often like that which begs the question, why bother moving here?
@@jamesshielssoberlife.3701 At junior school (St Marys) I was very keen academically and did well. Unfortunately I was ill when the '11 plus' took place. Needless to say I was very disapointed to be placed in the lowest form from year 1 at Colfox. Despite working hard I was told I would be staying in the same stream until I reached stream 4 and would then have to leave at the age of 15. To say my education at Colfox was a disappointing was somewhat an understatement. The teachers were very good, however none were in a position to allow me to follow the path of GCE's and beyond. I've now been retired for a few years... and still not forgiven Colfox for a lack of opportunity.

I've always found the people in Bridport to be very welcoming and friendly, you must have just caught a couple of people on an off day.
