Look on the floor of your car in the drivers seat and it’s probably somewhere, just a tiny black rubber doughnut looking thing. It’s easy to put it back

I had this problem twice, first time in 2018 dealer did it under recall; Second time happened this week instead of using another grommet that will dry out and disintegrate, I placed a magnet same size as the grommet on top of the pedal arm under the switch. That's pretty much a permanent fix, won't dry out or wear out; that little grommet can affect cruise control, Dole light, loss of speed as you drive , turns off your anti skid, etc.

Would this switch, if bad, ever cause a no crank and no start condition? I have a 2011 Sonata 38,000 miles (yes just 38) with new battery and starter but still no power at all to anywhere and when button is pushed it will not crank at all. Thanks!
I've done all the above and my break lights still don't work while my lights are on. If lights are off they work.
Same problem
Is that a wyley coyote I hear in the background?
I have a 2013 elantra gls and my switch connector plug is smaller on my car and not like the one shown in this video. I was given the one in your video as a replacement and the connection on the switch is not compatible. I have a different switch with a smaller plug attachment. Are there different switch types for these models?
I know when I bought my switch half way through production they switched to the 2014 switch
I have a 2013 accent. Passenger side brake light isnt coming on, changed bulbs, fuses are good..If the switch is bad would both taillights not work???
Hi!! Thank you so much for your video. Silly questions, my brake lights are working fine it’s the taillight that’s out. Is the 15 and 10 amp fuse the same for the tail lights on the Hyundai Elantra? Thank you!!
How do you find a replacement grommet? I’ve been trying to figure out the part number for years
So I’m having some weird issues with my driver side brake lights… when the car is driving/idling, the brake light is on. But when I brake the light turns off. This is a new issue, it wasn’t always like this. Also when I hit my brakes my left rear turn signal doesn’t work either. But when I am not pressing my brakes my turn signal works. Also, I just looked under the hood and my car does not even have that first blue fuze you show in the video. I am new to cars and would love some help if anyone has any input!
I have an Elantra hatchback but only the third brake light stays on. Could it be the same problem with the brake switch?
Hi, thanks for the video. Quick question- I upgraded my Hyundai Elantra 2018 SE base radio to a touchscreen 7" display radio. In this process I connected ignition wire to the battery for the radio and now it's draining my battery. I was wondering if I can tap it into a fuse which turn on only when the car is ON. Can you tell which fuse location I should go for? Thanks for your response.
Cigarette lighter fuse because it only comes on when the car is on
Thanks. Mine all 3 brake lights doesn't turn on. But I can turn on and off the rear light. Hyundai Reina 2019 Manual.
So this will help me isolate it. I may need to check the brake light switch first and see if it may just be stuck. since all 3 light doesn't lit up when I step on the brake.
^_^ Thanks for this.
Having the same issue. Did you solve yours ?
@@ravierkonan1694 Yes. I remove the brake light switch. I found out that it was stuck. Sprayed it with WD40 and it's working now. Possible dirt made a friction. it's clean and all back to normal.
@@ravierkonan1694 it's easy to remove. It's the same design.
@@ayayotoko i bought a whole new switch replaced everything this man did and bulbs mine are still off.
@@rsnmarkmark14 I have the same issue. Diagnosed the fuses, replaces brake switch but the light are still off while having the brakes depressed :(
why does one of my brake lights not go on but the other works fine? i checked the bulbs and they are fine because when i turn on the tail lights they all light up but that right brake light light won’t register when i step on the brakes
Okay so, what if it's just one tail light .. just one stays on (my driverside) only has been a few days this happening and now my higher mount tail light isn't coming on .. my bulbs are good, otherwise they would illuminate but i was told maybe my brake switch or circuit problem but wouldn't this affect BOTH lights, not jus one ??
This is happening to me on my Hyundai Sonata 2017. Right rear brake light is constantly on when driving. We’re u able to fix it ?
Can you please leave a link of the new "replacement brake light switch" part if you have one ?
My break lights work during the day when I do not have my lights on, but when I have my Day running lights, or lights on that is when my break lights won't shut off. Can you help?
Did you ever find the problem my santa Fe is doing the same thing
Hi bro, where is the relay of blinker light?
I have an issue where my brake lights don’t work at all, even after replacing the bulbs on all 3, I’m wondering if the brake switch might be the problem
what a great explanation :) Thank you
I have 2014 Elantra and all my bulbs work but only one of them will turn on when mashing the brake? No matter what side I put that bulb on? Does that mean my other bulbs could be bad? I just don't get it if they were bad why would they turn on first of all?
Thank you so much! Given me a few troubleshooting steps to check before a costly diagnosis for my wonky break light.
My bulb is fine but depending on if lights are on/mid/off one light doesn’t function correctly.
I subbed because of this!
I have a 2014 Hyundai Accent and my brake lights aren’t coming on when I press the brake pedal. I replaced the brake light switch and the grommet is still in place. All my fuses are good for the brake lights. I have no idea what’s wrong.
Thank you!! 🙏 🙏your video & knowledge saved me 🙌🙌
need some help here:
2013 Elantra, 3rd brake light, left and right brake lights ALL not working.
however, turning signal lights, spoiler brake light, and reverse lights are all fine
I've checked engine bay fuse, interior fuse, and brake switch.
Could the issue be the brake switch even though the spoiler brake light works? what should I be looking for?
I'm at a total loss here, all 3 brake lights went out seemingly at once so i know it's an electrical problem.
Hey Andrew. Did you had this fixed and how? I’ve the same problem.
@@idiotsontheroad39 i changed both lower brake light bulbs at the same time and that fixed it. however, i was never able to figure out the issue with the high mounted brake light.
Left tail light and brake light are out the right tail light and brake works even after I changed bulbs I'm assuming it's the fuse
I've changed my bulbs fuses are good put a new switch on still not brake lights any idea
Hi, both my side break light are not working but the middle one is working.
Both fuse are good, I change the bulb light but it still doesn't work.
Any ideas?
Thank you!
Hi, same with mine. Did you get it fixed? If so, how’d you fix it? Thanks!
Hate to say it but you're more than likely going to have to get a different vehicle cause I did the same thing for my brake light and only 1 of them works I'm going to look for a different car
The issue I’m having is that when I step on the brakes my driver side brake light shuts off.
Literally having the same issue
I only have one side that turns on with break lights but the other side does not. Any ideas?
I have a 2013 Elantra. When the headlights are turned off, the brake lights work properly. When the headlights are turned on, both brake lights are on. When you press the brake pedal, the driver's side turns off and the passenger side stays on. I've replaced bulbs, tested fuses and checked the switch. Any ideas? Thank you!
Do you have the correct bulbs installed in the rear?
@@LehewTech Yes, I actually just bought a new pair and put them in. Still having the same issue
I have the same problem any luck figuring it out?
Same issue here, Anyone got it resolved and how? Thanks!
@@idiotsontheroad39 same issue! Need help as well!
Hi,I recently changed my rear brake calipers and now my brake lights are not coming on. Brakes work great,no lights. Thoughts?
What if only one of my break lights is not working. I changed the bulbs and harness
Same issue. We’re u able to fix it?
@@lgstar3363 I did. This fixed it.
will this also work with a hyundai tucson suv?
can you pls share your thoughts on the manual transmission clutch pedal?. The problem is I can not shift the transmissionthou the fluid is ok. Is ther an electrical switch that controls the shifting even I pressed the pedal? would appreciate your reply on this. Thanks for the earlier info, it helps a lot. and informative too.
I have the same question!
So, my god daughters 2012 Elantra Limited has the brake lights stuck on. I removed the brake switch and replaced it. Then tried pressing and releasing the switch and it did not cause the brake lights to come on. I checked the fuse in the engine. I did not check the one under the dash. (Did this all before seeing your video). Could a bad fuse under the dash keep the lights on as well?
Hello , My name is Mario, and I'd have the problem with my break light, I just replaced the brake switch and still have the problem, then check both of the fuses , the one on engine first, then the under the dashboard after and I'm still have the problem. Do you have any other ideas????
I've done all of this and changed the bulbs. And my brake lights still don't work?
What else could it be?
this may be a dumb question, it would be the same process for a 2014 elantra right ?
Hello sir i checked the fuses and my brake lights still are not working is it a switch and how do i tell if the switch is broken?
Hy thanks for your great info.
I'm having a difficulty with hyundai santafe 19 front light are permanently on and can't turn them of I've checked all the fuss they are all ok.
Anyway salutations please?
Does the 3rd brake light have a separate fuse? Mine wont work even after changing the bulb.
Found out one of my wires is broken.
I replaced a burned out drivers side brake light and the parking lights on that side wouldn’t work immediately after. The flashers and brake lights worked. After testing the brake lights, the parking lights worked on that side again. Weird.
My 2012 elantra middle brake light won't come on, and the bulb is good. The driver and passenger brake lights work fine, any ideas??
2013 the driver side don't work only the passenger side works, no power on the bulb at all brake light works but the parking light don't. Thanks
