An easy way to clean your caravan without washing it, is to use 2 microfiber clothes. 1 wet, not dripping, and wipe over the van, then wipe off with the dry one. Gets the worst of the muck off and looks reasonable from a distance. Also a bottle of dry wash works wonders at keeping the dirt off as it has a wax coating in it. Spray on and wipe with one microfiber then leave for a minute and polish with another microfiber. Cheers.
Another great video! Don't get a dog. You'll restrict yourself far too much. I too live on my own in a caravan (Australia) and would love to have a pet. But too many places I can't take them... Stay safe!
@@TravellingK I travel around. I go wherever I find a job. Right now I'm in Far North Queensland (Mareeba), I work in the sugar cane harvest. I'm here for six months and after that... I don't know yet. That's the beauty of living on the road, you never know where you end up :)
Dogs are great company but are a tie when you want to go out. We’re super cautious about leaving ours in the caravan especially as they heat up so much in the sun. 😀
Woah, so much going on for you atm. Shame about the dogs being banned, you see a lot of that over here. Does your fridge work on 12v or 240v? It may be just a gas issue which is usually pretty easy to fix. best of luck with the lock barrel.
It's been a busy time! I imagine it's different in Australia with your dog? I've been running the fridge on gas, but apparently it needs a little power still to run. The error seems to be power related, which makes no sense! Hopefully figure it out soon.
Another great video. REMEMBER, never use a pressure washer when you come to wash the caravan, it’ll damage the seals and damp will set it when the weather turns. Also, I’m a bit anal when it comes to washing my caravan, I ensure that the roof is washed at least 4 or 5 times a year to stop the dirt running down and causing streaks but for yourself who is always on the road, you might get away with doing it a couple of times a year to at least keep the algae down, just try and avoid parking under trees then just use a waterless caravan/car cleaner when the van needs a wash on the body, it’s amazing stuff if you’ve never used it before plus it brings up an amazing shine. I would however use the wet variety on sites where you are allowed then you can admire it after all the hard work you’ve put in. Not sure if you get it in NZ but I would highly recommend the “Fenwicks” range of caravan cleaners, especially “Bobby Dazzler”, you’ll need your sunglasses on after you’ve cleaned the van. See the link below. Happy traveling. fenwicks.info/caravan/
I’ve put a link at the bottom for Care-avan products but there are loads out there at differing prices so best to Google it and see what comes up in NZ, I got mine from Aldi (not sure if you have branches in NZ) when they have their star buys on and it’s usually available every few months or so at a great price. However, unfortunately you will have to wash the roof the old fashioned way with a ladder, cleaning shampoo/extendable brush and a hose pipe, but this is why you should be ok just giving it a good wash a couple of times a year and clean the body at your leisure. I’m not paid for this recommendation 😭 but check out the websites for Care-avan and Fenwicks products or even subscribe to a caravan magazine (also online subscription), we have Practical Caravan in the UK and you’ll get loads of tips and advice each month. I have a dog. In the past when told they don't have dogs there I tell them if your place isn't good enough for a dog, I don't think I want to stay there. Lol
Ah back to normal videos 👍🏻How come you have to drive your waste water to dump it? Is that normal for 🇳🇿?? Here in the uk all sites have waste disposal close by that you just walk to! I’m very confused and curious!
Do you prefer these typed of videos? The nicer (and more expensive) campgrounds all have their own dump station, but a large amount of NZMCA parks don't have one.
Hi Karen, I no this is an old video . I'm trying to catch up. but here in the USA I had a caravan and I found a waste tank about as long as yours but thicker and it would probably hold maybe twice what yours dose , but it had four wheels and the bar on the front steering you could drop over your tow ball and pull to the dump point. Looking at how you picked it up to stow empty it probably weights the same.Just a thought , be safe.
Thieves used to steal the locking fuel cap get a key cut for it knowing it is the same key for all the locks then steal the vehicle. Now that cars use wireless locks they have found a way to beat that system and steal some rather expensive cars with no damage done
Hi Karen, It seam to be a other noisy place ! Bad luck for your fridge and your ice cream, but can you tell me what is inside "rhubarbe" ? i have 3 in my garden and i make jam with, but i don't know what is inside your fridge ? By and see you later. Denis.
It was quiet and really peaceful at night as these planes only flew during the day 😀 The rhubarb was a yoghurt. Al Brown Rhubarb and Gingerbread - yum!
My son lived on South Island for a year , and said crime was virtually nonexistent , people left there car keys in car so neighbors could move the car if need be
I wouldn’t do that in Christchurch 😂 exact same thing happened to me while living there. Some low life jammed a screwdriver into the door lock on my car and my flatmates car
Kevin - ugh, sorry to hear that happened in Christchurch!! Paul - crime is generally petty crime. My home's been robbed a few times. First time my car's been tampered with.
DON'T jet wash your caravan as you'll get damp into the joints....! 😉P'S I use liquid detergent & hot water mix with just a soft cloth "It works a treat....👍
I read that New Zealand, and particularly the Southern part of Auckland has very high rates of theft, and that tourists/travellers are often targeted by these rascals.
My cat and I can no longer go to Ardmore. No animals allowed. So I will be looking for somewhere else. I guess it adds to the adventure. Rather than doing the same old. Bit of a shame as she really would go near planes. They are monster birds. 😏
Only 2 weeks ago we had 2 armed response 2of , bomb disposal 2 ambulances , 2 incident support vehicles all for a druggy who falsely claimed he had a grenade , and all this in a village
These low life people who try to take something you have worked hard to get .they need to have their hands cut off like that country can’t think of the name so everyone knows they are a thief and they can’t thieve no more they cause so much inconvenience and money to the owner.Apart from that you had a few nice sunsets.
Due to cutbacks you never see a police officer now on the streets, they just announced they will not attend shoplifting or if you get your car broken into ,what kind of message does that send out to the criminals?
Bummer, I'm back to watching older videos. At least this way I will catch up and view them all. Upset to hear someone tried to get into your car. Some people have no respect for other peoples property. Just be glad you had a car to come back to. You need a 12 volt pump to pump your grey water into your holder that sits in the back of your car. Use the smaller grey water holders to catch your water as you use it. When it gets full pump that into the bigger tank in the back of your car. Then when that gets full you just drive to the dump station pump the waste grey water out. Sounds like a lot of extra work but it would be easier on you physically. A nice place to stay with all those planes flying by. lol But $3 a night is only $90 a month. That I could live with. 👍 I just saw on the very next video I chose to watch and someone mentions about using the 12 pump. 😩
Aussie Boomer- The Turton Crew. Hello, just yesterday sept 23/19, I read in the JAMAICA GLEANER, where 4 pit bulls tore up a woman ( teacher) , for some 4 minutes until someone came to her aid those bastards were lapping up her blood, the very next day 3 of the 4 were collected & destroyed , she KNOWS. the neighbor whom owns them, Cheers from NJ USA
There assholes everywhere not just south auckland. Sorry for your attempted broken into😢 keep safe theres some assholes out there in this beautiful country
They are great dogs , very loyal and protective , I love them
Yes Girl you are as resilient as they come. I do love watching, keep at it.
Glad you got your car lock somewhat fixed. It’s crazy the site you stayed at is only $3
Feels crazy that vidcon was a month ago now!
I agree about VidCon - where have the time gone!
It's a basic campground but pretty happy with them 😀

Yes, that's been one of my concerns...
Love those front windows.
They do make the most of the views I get 😀
Sorry to hear you’ve had such a bad week there. Ive had the week from hell too. I hope youre all fixed soon. Rod.
Oh no! Hope you're doing ok?
Woah, so much going on for you atm. Shame about the dogs being banned, you see a lot of that over here. Does your fridge work on 12v or 240v? It may be just a gas issue which is usually pretty easy to fix. best of luck with the lock barrel.

Sorry to here about your car. It’s a bugger when someone tries to break into them so hope it is all fixed and going well
Finally fixed it yesterday 😀😀😀AND was able to do it myself.
Playing catch up after 10 days away :-) Hope you have that lock sorted :-)
Finally got it done! Actually took a while to get it re-collaborated.

So sorry that happened!!!! Horrible and super inconvenient 😣😣
Very inconvenient! Just a pain to fix...

That sounds great! Will need to google I think...
There's a product on the market called 'waterless wash n wax' spray on, rub in. buff off. easy as.
Yippieee another video about you :D just throw away those boot mats and get a boot cover (on big plastic bin that's made to fit)
Guess you prefer these types instead? 😜 A boot cover is a good idea...
Yes i like you very much. You are a go getter, funny and sometimes a bit daft. I love that.😉
Daft, hahah, the best description!
Thieves used to steal the locking fuel cap get a key cut for it knowing it is the same key for all the locks then steal the vehicle.
Now that cars use wireless locks they have found a way to beat that system and steal some rather expensive cars with no damage done
Oh that's sneaky of them!
Dogs are wonderful, such good company. Have you thought about going the compost toilet way so you don't have to lug that horrid thing all the time?
I am seriously thinking about a composting toilet...
nice job on the door m8! do they have air at car washes?
Thank you!! I’m not sure all car washes have air. All fuel stations do.
Hi Karen,

Is that the second time or was it damage from the first attempt. You may want to get an alarm or a flashing light that looks like you have one,
This is the first time this has happened to me - same as post on Facebook. I thought my car looked boring enough for no-one to try breaking in!
Travelling K thanks. I knew I had seen it mentioned before but thought they had done it again. Glad you are fixing it
My son lived on South Island for a year , and said crime was virtually nonexistent , people left there car keys in car so neighbors could move the car if need be
I felt like I could leave my caravan windows open in the Hawkes Bay orchard. Guess it depends on the area?
I wouldn’t do that in Christchurch 😂 exact same thing happened to me while living there. Some low life jammed a screwdriver into the door lock on my car and my flatmates car
Hi Karen , what’s the crime like generally in NZ
Kevin - ugh, sorry to hear that happened in Christchurch!!

I've heard how fragile the exterior actually is. Thank you 😀
I read that New Zealand, and particularly the Southern part of Auckland has very high rates of theft, and that tourists/travellers are often targeted by these rascals.
The crazy thing is I was in a nicer suburb!
I have a dog and it is restricting but she's worth having on trips. You just have to find the pet friendly places.
Aww that's great! I just watched a video with some puppies in it... bad move, haha
Is New Zealand rough as never been there..?
Rough?? Compared to other countries - no. There are parts were you want to be careful with your valuables.
You need a Rottweiler, are there any special rules in Newzealand regards being muzzled ?
Not for Rottweilers as they aren't on the menacing breeds list.
haha a Rottweiler would atleast give me space at campgrounds!
Hi Karen, It's not one thing or another, Don't the planes keep you up. Just as well you a good hand at the DIY. ATB Glen
The planes stopped at night and it was very peaceful 😀Just seemed to have tiny planes and the odd helicopter.
Dump station montage video?
Too much? 🤣
Does your car not have central locking😳
It does... but that door still locked until I sorted it out.
My cat and I can no longer go to Ardmore. No animals allowed. So I will be looking for somewhere else. I guess it adds to the adventure. Rather than doing the same old. Bit of a shame as she really would go near planes. They are monster birds. 😏

Gosh, that's bad!! What part of the UK are you in? Kind of terrifying!
I see you have a aqua roll why dont you get another one for your gray water and use a pump to fill it , it will make it easer to dump .
A pump has been suggested.... that might be a great temporary fix.
These low life people who try to take something you have worked hard to get
.they need to have their hands cut off like that country can’t think of the name so everyone knows they are a thief and they can’t thieve no more they cause so much inconvenience and money to the owner.Apart from that you had a few nice sunsets.
I lot of inconvenience and money! And there wasn't anything interesting to steal either...
I use waterless shampoo ..it really brings up a shine
Hmmm that's interesting... might need to try.
It’s getting worse here in U.K. stabbing somewhere every day now, no police on the streets any more
Why no police if it's getting worse??

a pet is half a child, very restricting of mobility
haha nicely described.
we make unconscious choices and realise five or ten years later they were not the right direction
True... it's only in hindsight.
vandals! I hate them so much, ruining your lock

Shite pot crims everywhere 😡

I bet
Well you now do for next time xxx
Getting locked out? Yes, atleast I can now have dinner with friends and still get back, haha
What is it with women and dogs !!!
