"Be Yourself, It's The Best!" (Introducing Miss Nickel, an LGBTQ+ Kids' Musician!)

I came out as a trans woman daycare teacher in late 2021! I went around to each classroom (ages 2 to 10), read them some age-appropriate books on gender, and told them about me switching my name. Each age had a different overall reaction, and each child had their own unique way of understanding what it means for me to be myself.
This video is inspired by those hundreds and hundreds of interactions. What's more is it reaffirms my mission, which is to inspire kids to be proud to be themselves, regardless of their gender identity or anything else.
