Wow Jake that was amazing. The editing you do makes everything seem really cinematic nowadays. I love the bit at 8:30 - 8:34 where you seamlessly transition from walking outside in the rain to back in your room.

I've only recently discovered your videos, but since then I've been hooked! Recently I've been thinking about college a lot (though I have a good amount of time till I have to really worry about it). I found your vlogs, which have given me an interesting look at college life, and also being entertaining. On top of all that, you put it all together with a kind of cinematic aesthetic which makes it very nice to watch.

***** It's brilliant! It makes sense not to force CompScis to do a random science subject if they don't want to study any of them because frankly it isn't useful for the rest of the degree. If someone wants to study them out of interest then great but I'm glad they're not gonna continue to force everyone.

Hey Jake how often do you code in classes, how often do you make applications for classes, and how often do your professors go over different languages and teach coding techniques?
I believe Jake had mentioned that he was going to include a link to your dissertation in this video so that we could read it. He also suspected that he may forget to include it. I didn't see a link. Any chance of getting link? I think it would be very interesting to read.
I wonder what they could be testing his electric appliances for. The end of term seems like an odd time to do a safety check of his personal electronic items. Perhaps they are checking electric appliances that are university property. Hooking them up to a special machine seems like a rather sophisticated way of testing. Maybe this is part of an energy efficiency audit? Anyone have further insight on this?
I recall seeing Jake make mention of wanting to get his beach body ready for vacation. I wonder how the buffet and brunch impacted that. ;) We haven't seen much of his recent fitness regime yet, perhaps that is coming in a future vlog. As one who is trying to get into shape myself, seeing what other people do helps motivate me to work on my fitness.
Good thing Jake took the time to investigate his potential vacation rental further. I suppose his Jail Break Charity experiance may have been helpful in preparing him to his vacation adventure.
Isn't it interesting how one only notices _all_ of their typos just _after_ submitting their email/comment, even after multiple pre-submission proofreads? Ugh.
Perspectologist I have an excuse for this: I wanted to put it on the Downloads page on my website, but I've recently made some changes to my website and moved it to a new server yesterday. When I went to upload my dissertation I noticed the downloads page was actually broken so I am fixing it right now and will upload my dissertation asap.
All schools, businesses, universities, etc. are required (by law I assume) to carry out annual electrical testing (PAT). The guy only tested the college owned equipment (fridge and lamps) but in Roger's college they tested all of his stuff too (and annoyingly put 'passed' stickers on all of the plugs).
My fitness regime has improved a lot since graduation. I failed to get as beach body ready as I wanted in time for going to Malia lol but it'll be ready for... autumn.

Thanks for the explanation on the electrical device testing. I'm not aware of similar regular testing requirements in the US. There is a UL (Underwriters Laboratories) certification process, but that is done by the manufacturer. I suppose you guys have rather higher voltage so wear related line faults may be a greater concern.
I'm glad to hear of your fitness improvements. A healthy body is in fashion all year long. :) Hopefully you can vlog a little about that. Seeing parts of vlogger's, like CaseyNeistat, fitness routine help inspire me to push myself harder.

For some reason i was in hysterics when you applied your high powered intellect into what it would take to submit a fake dissertation. You have the makings of a naff, criminal mastermind.The level of detail was pretty much a dissertation in itself.
Also,you should fly out to the hotel and stay for free in return for fixing their hotel booking system.
PS I designed this yinyang symbol myself in Visual Basic.net and even had to write my own floodfill routine. That was me at the outer limit of my programming capabilities. I am not Cambridge material.

Dana Kirsh I found Physics *incredibly* difficult. It was probably the hardest part of the whole degree. I can't remember the score that I got but it wasn't great.

Dana Kirsh I'm not sure, I would say yes but I never had a better alternative. If I'd done Chemistry at A Level then maybe that but even though I found Physics super hard, I don't think I'd have done any better with any of the alternatives because Physics was the only subject I'd studied previously.
