I catfish regularly. I am in Tennessee and get out before daybreak on the part of the Tennessee river known as Chickamauga lake. Once the catfish stop biting later in the day I take whatever live bait I have left and troll the bank in my kayak. I let out about 50 yards of line so after I pass it is a while when my live bait goes by. My biggest Bass this year is 13 pounds 2 ounces and that was close to the state record. I catch and release but take a couple of pictures always before I release. I printed a large 11x14 print of this and made it a center point of all of my 8x10 prints of my Bass catches. I have one wall of Bass prints and one wall of Catfish prints. The Bass was caught on a cheap Walmart rod/reel combo that is around 5 years old using 10 pound test mono Stren line. I had a 4 inch shad as bait and was trolling my kayak really slow around one of the islands out in the middle of Chickamauga lake in June of this year. I like this island because I have caught several 11 pounders doing the same thing around this island the last three years.
Using the same method I caught what I believe is a state record Coosa Bass last year close to this same area. It weighed in at 2 pounds 9 ounces and I have photos of it also. I was unfamiliar at the time of the Coosa Bass and I released it. I knew it was a Bass and I was thinking it was a spotted Bass. A few months later when a made my print of this bass I decided to send a digital copy to our local TWRA office to get them to confirm for me that it was a spotted bass and they emailed me back telling me that it was a Coosa Bass and could be a new state record based on the photo I took of it while it was being weighed. But I did not follow TWRA protocol to get it properly certified. I bet you I now know everything about the Coosa Bass and if I am fortunately enough to ever catch another one of record size I will know.
Sorry for the long comment here but you did ask. Good videos and a big thumbs up.

That might be ol bessie😂. Doesnt look like the handling or clipping the fin is affecting their health though, like everybody is worried about in the comments of the last videos.
