one thing i like about nosepass and probopass is that in PLA they always face north when not in combat
pokemon go, too!!
WHAT
Scarlet and violet teal mask dlc wasn’t out yet at the time this comment was written, but they do it there too 😁
I absolutely love how they still manage to have elements based off sea creatures!! that's really neat and helps them stand out from being just "living magnets"
I like how the first is a squid and the second is calamari.
Whats your pfp from?
@@nekoluit got fried
@@nekoluthe second one is a nautilus. Not calamari?
I love how the music cycles through each Pokémon's relevant music
I believe Vast Poni Canyon for Alolan Golem and Vikavolt, Area Zero for Sandy Shocks, the Rocket Base for Magnemite
Real neat touch
Rocket Base and Mt Coronet for Magnemite/Magneton! A lot of these are mashups actually
Edit: the alolan golem line also has the evolution theme, which makes sense with them being examples of divergent evolution!
Do they make the music themselves? Incredible if so
Probopass also had a little bit of the Sinnoh wild battle, and Ferroseed and Ferrothorn had what I believe to be the Unova wild battle theme ! Plus, the Galar section had segments of the Gym Leader theme.
And when he mentions Gen 8, the muic changes to the gym battle theme too
6:12 while the body certainly LOOK like Mercury, it's canon that Melmetal is actually like, sort of the god of Iron. All of his dex entries, especially in GO, reference how it's made up entirely of iron, that's why it gets Magnet Pull
I honestly would love to see a Magnemite Regional variant that is based on Tuning Forks.
Steel/Psychic is an easy typing, and would be a mixed attacker.
I imagine that if you hit it, it will become stronger, and god forbid it touching the ground after getting hit hard.
Magnitude 10 in bound.
I don't know about Regional Variant, but it could definitely be a Convergence.
Maybe it has an ability that powers up ground moves after getting hit. Pair that with lagging tail, and you have an earthquake sweeper on your hands
Brilliant idea
magnets(?), magic, and music. All have tuning forks. That's an idea.
Don'r know about the name for the convergent Magnemite, but I can see Magnetune and Magnesong for Magneton and Magnezone
Man, I really love your concepts... The body of a solenoid squid evolving to a toroid nautiloid is just genius. I specially loved the fact that Nautoroid's arms reference the vector direction of the charges. *standing ovation*
AWWWW BY GAWD IT’S SO CUTEEEEEE!!
Once again our aesthetic sense in pokemon matches perfectly!!
The evolution is awesome as well!!
A random idea I had would be a connection between Unknown and the Periodic Table.
So each unown using attacks based on a specific element? That sounds pretty cool
You are the first person I can think of that mentioned Ferroseed and Ferrothorn as ferrofluid, but considering the typing I think its obvious that its not ferrofluid, but a thorny plant, like a thistle that's coated in iron rather than being a ferrofluid. After all, the prefix "ferro" just means containing iron
He mentioned that exact point about "ferro" just meaning iron.
This was a really cool video. It really does showcase that just because an idea was used before, does not mean it can't be used again.
Very recently I actually came up with a interesting design idea for a ferrofluid based Pokemon.
As an aspiring physicist currently doing their masters, you sir are a true Pokémon master. I love your work so much!
Magnetism has always been fascinating and to see certain pokemon be centered around it is quite cool. I dig how some of them use the iron fillings to act like hair, my personal favorite being Alolan Golem with Sandy Shocks at a very close second.
I love your new pokemon in Solenite and Nautoroid. They are wonderful additions to the pokemon that are based on Magnetism.
I like how nautoroid has a more happy face upside down
And i cant unsee it anymore
absolutely incredible designs and concepts as always
bro i LOVE your scientific looks into pokemon! its so fun and entertainign to watch 😊
Nautoroid is on the team! I think it's so cool that we can actually learn while watching your channel.
All of your designs are just brilliant! They look more like real Pokemon than the latest generation's mons do, not to mention how much more interesting they are in both concept and design.
another great video!!!! they're always so polished and interesting. looking forward to seeing more!!
super cool to see a video covering a specific type of design decision/topic like this. Really lets you get into the nitty gritty of it
When the music brings in the mount coronet riff right when you mention magnezone. Brilliant.
I was about to mention ferrofluids but that was thankfully gone over. Sandy Shocks probably had iron filings but they way they move compared to Probopass and Alolan Golem makes me wonder if that is ferrofluid
Always impressed by your designs! I hope this channel continues to grow
just wanna say how i love your artstyle for pokémon, the lineless minimal shading art looks really good
Another great video! I love Solenite and Nautoroid’s designs and especially their names :)
I love these little guys so much! Amazing work!
Everything about this video feels like its professional the designs, the voice, rhe music damn keep up the good work
The music in this episode is lovely. I think I got all the references.
It's honestly kinda crazy how your magnetism concept has went undone in Pokemon for as long as it has. Although the actual creature combo with it that you use is very cool, so I'm glad they hadn't.
very fun video
the music is so good too, especially the rocket hideout remix
We think Sandy Shocks actually uses a combination of iron filing and ferrofluids, because the spikes they use on their magnet tips look more dull and liquid like. But the spikes on their top head and tail look more soild.
combining science, art, and pokemon.... I am loving this
what the hell this channel is so good. expected to have a big shrug at this video but im just watching instead of working out
I love the design so much, especially the nautilus inspiration! Favorites are going to be really hard to decide with this fakemon region
Belemnite and Nautilus magnets are such a cool idea, and the science design lessons are always so fun. Thanks, n0Rt!
I love your designs so much!!!
For sandy shocks my guess is that it used to look like a regular Pokémon but adapted to being exposed to some sort of ancient form of metal
Sort of like Pokémon’s version of vibranium and then overtime became sandy shocks and then the magnemite line
The metal could have come from space explaining why magnezone resembles a UFO
I never made the connection between Nosepass and iron filings! What an insight video
As a magnezone connoisseur I highly approve this video. Probably one of my most favorite pokemon if I have to choose one
This was a great video, and an awesome design!
you are one the most creative fake mon artist, and the one of most interesting Pokémon content creators that I have ever seen, you took a education factor and turned it into a Pokémon region, kudos to you mate.
I love the cute emoji art on this channel
That picture of magnetite is just a completely shattered tablet
I just realized that Alola has 2 railgun mons. I wouldnt expect there to be even one overall lol
your designs are brilliant!!
ICP-themed magnet Pokemon
i learn more that you than i learn from school! (Keep up the great content!)
this video is amazing and so are the designs
Great vid as always Nort Pole.
Epic thumbnail
Good old Physics, they've yet to find a phenomenon that they can't make another thing to call the Right Hand Rule
Speaking of iron, I've been thinking of putting some of the black sand I've been gathering for a few years to use by experimenting with thermite (safely of course!) and was wondering what idea you would have off the top of your head for a REDOX-based Pokemon.
I'd like the idea of a copper snake that coils around its tail to look similar to the symbol of hermes. This would make an amazing concept for not only a new magnetmon, but open a window for a new healing-related ability due to what the symbol is associated with these days
I loved your vector art
I just love your content
Right-hand rule is used to find the direction of the current in a given filed
Left-hand rule is used to find the force and magnetic field due to movement and/or current
Right-hand-thumb rule is used for magnetic field directions for solenoids and long straight wires
From what I know when and electric charge is going somewhere you know the magnetic field through the *left-hand-rule*
A friend asked me what would happen if nose pass was placed in the North Pole would direction would it face?
Awesome magnet pokemon. I also love the nautiloid inspiration
Nortist honestly deserves more subs
Magnetic Pokemon are somewhat curious. Nice video btw
I really love this series, I like science, and I like Pokémon. Combining both of the concepts is honestly amazing and I’m learning something every video.❤
I like Magneton
The music transition at 5:45 is so sick
as a stem major and huge Pokemon fan, this channel is really a nice peanut butter and jelly sandwich of two very different passions of mine. it's both very original and super creative, ten outta ten 😗🤌🥪
Great video, and cool illustrations! What do you use to make them, Illustrator maybie?
WOAAAAAAH!!! Solenite!!!!! Fantastic!!!! Love them so much!
POV:: u realize that you have fun learning about magnets
BEAUTIFUL I LOVE IT! HELL YEAH!
There are so many links in your description but not a single one is to the music you used, wtf? These are the best remixes of the secret lab theme I have never found. Hell, all the remixes in this vid are fucking amazing!
I really enjoy learning about difficult scientific conceptd through an electric squid
What I think would be cool for the stem region is if an electric type pokemon could fuse with a magnetic type, and produce a photon based pokemon, because photons produce electromagnetic waves.
Love that A. Golem's railgun looks more like a taser , like... downplaying its power?? 😂
Yea the railgun is just a gun that uses magnets, now back to the magnet beard, it’s so spiky!
I think why people think sandy shocks stuff is ferrofluid sense it pulsates a lot don’t know about the others though
^ this
I'm really drawn to your magnet Pokemon design
Im pretty sure it's actually ferrofluid on sandy shocks, due to the way it bunches at the ends contrasted to probopass and the Alolan Geodude line!
i loooooove your little magnet squid, it's so cute
I love new channels! Do you create the music that you use? I don't recognize where they could be from, but they're awesome!
honestly when people try to make a pokemon design that feels like a pokemon but still is its own design
Mans out here making better Pokémon than the Pokémon company
I think 3 magnemites make sense
they aren’t attached by the magnets, if anything they’re just kinda floating together, since a few of their attacks show them floating apart, and each one has two magnets each
but yeah, two would make sense from the magnet inspiration
Love magnet pokemon, but aside from sandy shocks, i like your designs more than every magnet pokemon. Among my favourite of the Stema creatures(?)
Crab magnet
We need a crab magnet
This man is UNDERRATED
i LOVE this thumbnail, it caught my attention and its really appealing, the reason i clicked on the video even!
If there is ever going to be a fan game, I am going to use Nautoroid, it’s design is sick!
While both designs are solid, I think Nautoroid should have kept/incorporated more of the wizard aesthetic of its pre-evo rather than just being a full-on electric ammonite (not the design itself is bad, just wished the wizard theme could spice it up a little more beside just having a beard).
Were Solenite and Nautoroid also based on Ammonites and Nautiluses? For electric types, they look surprisingly aquatic and I think it's really cool having pokemon that look like a certain type, but explore vastly different topics to justify their less obvious typing
Magnemite and magneton always were and will be my favourite pokemon
Magnetic force, Jack! Natures force!
As three magnets, im pretty happy with this.
Iron filings beard makes me happy, it so spiky!!!
A magnet based ability could be cool too. Maybe it removes spikes and/or provides an immunity to steel type moves
*I’ll be honest, I never actually knew ferroseed/ferrothorn involved anything to do with magnetism ngl*
I saw a siphonophore-based convergent Magnemite family.
your winky PFP is so good
Oh my gosh I love this lil guy
Huh as someone who never looked at the dex entries I assumed that Vikavolt's mouth was meant to look like it works as a Jacob's Ladder.
that thumbnail was a thumbnail serve unlike any other
amazing content!
Wow! I love solenite's design.
