Idk why people underrate those nds srws so much sometimes. I personally played W and everything's awesome about that game. Animation? Some of them even better than V. Plot? One of the best, again better than V. This kind of madness have to stop. Just because V has better graphic doesn't mean it's better than the nds srws
Vergil - I agree. I've just started UX half a year ago and haven't finished, yet I'm already thinking that it has the best story out of ALL SRW titles, even better than Alpha 3 and R. R was sad (don't really remember the story tho), but UX is just too much... I literally cried for リチャルド. Also I really like W in terms of animation, but the story is a little too simple for me.
UX story is pretty sad and realistic, two best friends fighting each other due they ideals, an artificial human searching the meaning of her existence, a scientist blaming herself due the fact of can't save the world, etc On the other hand it has moments as you mentioned: The fate of Richard, Arnie using "Hell Stringer" for the first time even knowing the damage it does to his body, Jin shooting his own squadron to avoid the "Repton Vector" going crazy, etc
