Can you tell me the purpose of the pieces of Dowell wood you put in the sound hole? I'm a woodworker, but not a luthier. This instrument will be for a family member.
The purpose is to prevent the soundboard from bending in. There is also a piece of wood on the inside of the soundboard glued perpendicular to the grain for the same purpose.

Chiseling that much wood by hand? Damn, that's hardcore and impressive but must have taken hours. Do yourself a favor and buy a cheap router and an upcut helical bit. Will save a ton of time.
@@Bullski123 In guitar building those are called Ferrules. If you buy top mounting ferrules for guitar they will be pretty close to the right size you need. I think they mount in a 4mm hole.

Wire end ferrules. To prevent the strings eating into the wood it's better to use them.

Ash body and red cedar soundboard. Glue was off-the-shelf from the homecenter, probaly similar to titebond

Sorry for the late reply. Body is made of ash, soundboard red cedar. Measurements approx. 80x20x4cm
did you glue the bridge on or is it held in place by the strings?

They prevent the strings from cutting in the wood. Not necessary on the back, but recommended on the front
