Low-key this what Ben Simmons was talking about sometimes embiid play soft at time when he dominate this game like Shaq now he all moody he can't take the pressure but my god harden is done he needs to play the Manu ginobli role off the bench
For the people who are trying to use the injuries as an excuse need to realize that Embiid should still be able to give you the production he did throughout the regular season, He's averaging 12 shots a game this series and still making half his shots, he averaged 20 in the regular season and was making half of his shots, He's averaging around 35 minutes of playing time aswell so it's not like the injuries aren't allowing him to play, so why can't he just take more shots?
You're answering your own question. He has a torn ligament on his shooting thumb, meaning he can't grip or release the ball the way he'd like. Moreover, his orbital fracture and concussion add additional disorentiation, after all it was reported he had trouble even looking at his phone cause of its brightness. Lastly, the mask he has to wear reduces visibility. So in essence he can't shoot well, feels sick, and isn't able to see the hoop as well as he liked. Plus, there are additional factors. For example, the increased physicality of the playoffs means less free throws for Embiid which naturally results in a decrease in PPG. Additionally, he is being guarded by one of the best defenders in the league in Bam, and is the subject of a game plan that is trying to reduce the number of field goals he attempts. As a result, you get what looks like a sluggish version of Joel when looking at the box score.
Embiid said in his press conference that he pretty much knew a couple weeks ago he wasn't getting the MVP.. any time Miami wins they talk about what the other team didn't do
I am a Celtics fan since I was 6yrs old, and Doc Rivers won a chip because they were the first to do the super team thing with KG and Allen. That's that, how much coaching you think he was actually doing, really? Hence the 14yrs after to no avail.

They'd be way too biased though. Everyone on philly would vote for embiid and everyone on the nuggets would vote for jokic. If Joel really played bad because he was angry about losing the MVP award, then he had the wrong mindset. This is the game you should have dropped 40 and 18 to prove them wrong!
It's funny they mention that Embiid should of been focusing on the championship the whole season and not just now and only been focused on MVP. It's the exact opposite of Jokic. He doesn't care for the MVP. He's always said his main goal has always been a championship. No MVP trophy will be the same as the ultimate goal for him.
Do you mean to say you don’t like to be the best at what you do? Winning the mvp award is every basketball player dream. Cut me that crab that the is a player who don’t care about mvp lies
Just starting this and I hope they hold Embiid to the same standard as LeBron if LeBron prioritized an mvp award over a crucial playoff game. Let Luka, LeBron, Giannis, or Kawhi a few years ago play terrible in a crucial game 5 because he didn’t win a personal achievement award and see how fast and badly they would be blasted
I just said this myself. LeBron would be getting killed if he said what Joel did. And he’s dealt with injuries most of the time he’s been in LA, and the fans gave him ZERO excuses. Even when AD has missed most of the last two seasons with injuries. Joel been hurt his whole career too, but he got sympathizers.
in all fairness, Embiid's ppg went up in 2020 postseason and stayed roughly the same in 2021, this postseason, he's been used as a decoy vs Raptors and Heat, scoring a slightly lower average and have been winning games for the most part. I don't think ppg matters that much if they're winning games
they're gonna lose this series and its because embiid isn't playing the same as his regular season. Philly is a championship or bust team just "winning games" isn't enough. Losing in the second round isn't enough. They traded everything to win now.
@SamoaVsEverybody_814 no bc even goin back to when Jimmy was with Philly. Jimmy was the best player on the team in that raptors series. If not for him they lose in 5 games at best. If Jimmy was stat conscious like these other superstars he’d average 25 a night in the regular season. Embiid hasn’t had a dominant game this series.
@SamoaVsEverybody_814 yes bc a lot of the points Jimmy scored in games 3 and 4 were on embiid in the paint and they talked about how his presence change the shot making ability for the heat after game 3 so even with a healthy embiid Jimmy prob still gets that 33 and 40 in games 3 and 4 there was no mention of embiids injury after game 4 but now it’s an excuse for most people.
I dont get it tho, Jokic deserves his mvp but almost everyone i know wants Embid to win so majority for fan influence on this mvp race must have give Embid the edge , even almost everyone in the media/tv show i watch voted Embid so how did Jokic won the numbers don't really match

Yep. Barkely said embiid played well in game 3 and 4! He clearly hasn't been the same player and I'm pretty sure it's bc his face is broken. But performance should remain exactly the same no matter the severity of injury. Except reality doesn't work this way

I think the orbital fracture is affecting his aggressiveness. Shocked that he came back game 3. Usually need 6 weeks to return from that injury.
Embiid strikes more fear than Giannis🤡🤡
Lol Giannis would never lose a playoff game by 35 points
i only listen to shannon talk and then i bounce as soon as skip says "it's my turn". not it's not i'm leaving. lol
This game goes to show you Nikola Jokic was the true MVP all along
Jokic wouldn't do nothing with Joel's injuries, stop
@@feroce82 “injuries” lol he just had 24 and 11 the game before he didn’t look injured then
@@SSJRome so because embiid had a great game whilst injured your now invalidating his injury. Let me remind you bam adebayo this very season missed 2 months with Joel’s thumb injury and had surgery… whilst not being a guy who shoots the ball. And ppl who have orbital fractures usually miss a months before returning. You sound really stupid buddy
@@SSJRome that’s still injured. If you watch the games, he’s definitely not 100% out there, especially when you see game 3.
Jokic didn’t do anything either
Kareem was a flexible yoga freak and martial arts enthusiast with extreme discipline. Embiid and no 7 footers can live up to that type of longevity.
imagine putting in work for the mvp prize but not the ring
You mean Russell Westbrook?
As the late Kobe would say ..SOFT. No mamba mentality.
Players should vote. Coaches should vote. NOT the media.
They'd be way too biased though. Everyone on philly would vote for embiid and everyone on the nuggets would vote for jokic. And every other team like the Bucks, Suns, Warriors, etc would vote for their respective superstars who had great seasons. The media is still going to be biased but definitely less.
Man why jimmy not get acknowledged like he suppose to bruh been hooping
Winning always comes first. If there was a player averaging 50pts but his team was in last place, everyone would question if he really is the most valuable player.
“they must be got two thousand voters” 🤣🤣 love Unc lmaooo
They gotta fight for embid now he held it down all year this a team game. This should go seven good playoffs so far
Always here for Shannon’s suits and brooch. More info on his stylist please 😌🧚🏾♀️ Regardless of these trite narratives y’all keep spewing, the main story here is the transcendence of The Miami Heat. It’s interesting how the Heat always come back from loosing streaks with dominance. Will Duncan Robinson get more meaningful minutes in game 6? Will Dipo get to go off 🎯 offensively? Can they keep lil Tyrese Maxey in check as well as they did in game 5? I say, yes, yes, yes. Bam did an excellent job defending Masked Man. He’s the real mvp of this game 💥 In other 🗞 Will Boston dominate Milwaukee tonight? I don’t think so. Giannis will show up and be super fueled to get i$h done. Hopefully, he gets his other teammates involved. I think 🍀 vs Bucks will be a dog fight and I’m here for it. Let’s GO 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I’ve always notice whenever a team is getting blowed out the best player out of nowhere gets a minor injury late in the third quarter or 4th and now they saying there out for the rest of the game not saying players quit but that’s what it looks like🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
The frozen one definitely does that
@@Liverpoolchat I already can tell you a hater but aye idc I’m a curry fan I’m up right now😂😂
His face is literally broken he shouldn’t be playing in the first place
@@TheMightyTak I wasn’t talking embiid in general if I was talking about him I would have said his name even tho my comment does seem like I’m talking about him only tho but I’m not🤷🏽♀️
@@willfriday4236 ok I read best player on a blown out team which could totally apply here
Give miami credit. they definetly spent a lot of time watchin film because they played WAY better in g5
When it's Giannis, Dame, or Luka Skip is no excuses and has no problem reading minds. Now he wants to not make assumptions. Smh
Media- Heat only win when teams stars don't come ready to play god forbid the 1st seed in the east has great team defense, solid offense with great coaching.
💯
They need to crown the mvp of the regular season before the playpffs.
They do . Thats how it works
@@armulaitaylor2531 yea but i dont get why they release it in the smack middle of the playoffs though
@@MrBacon-ou1kw that I dont know either, that being said they release all the regular season awards in the post season
@@armulaitaylor2531 knowing who won the award and actually giving the awards out 2 different things I think all regular season business should be done and finished before the post season begins currently thats not how they are doing it.
@@Mackda3rd it is done at the end of the regular season but they announce in the post season
Lmaooo facts Shannon folks def cappin bout voting for Embiid 💀💀💀 they gotta make the award after round 2 of the playoffs or something bro come on
They should just wait till after the playoffs are over like in the NFL and MLB.
Embid should've played the media as a villain in the mask and scare the shjt out of miami... amazes me the lack of creativity with their money of these stars.. blown opportunity
Another day, another excuse for one of Skip’s guys. Edit: I stand corrected. Let’s see how long Skip’s heat stands.
Doc Rivers has his built-in excuse at least.
Embiid was such a dominant player, he decided which team would won or lose every time he played. When he lost his MVP title, he threw a tantrum and decided to go on strike! Heat was just there at the merci of Embiid’s mood.
Can you please for once in your lifetime acknowledge the Heat? Embiid was distracted by the news? He said he knew for weeks that he was not going to win MVP. But he was not distracted when he won 2 straight against the Heat? Sheesh
they wont even when we win the chip this year
So Embiid’s way to show the media they chose the wrong guy for MVP was to throw himself a pitty party and put up 17 and 5? Come on ya gotta be better
lol , go watch a couple days ago when Skip jumped on the Joel band wagon when trying to put down Joel . I am shocked they are still playing after he got hurt , I thought Miami would have put them down already.. I am a Bucks fan so I do not have a side in this either , I say that because I am noticing more and more with this show is it's just so toxic because of Skip , he is the main person that decides what topics they are going to talk about and how the convo is going to go.
Damn Skip has abandoned KD and Embiid within 4 weeks.. Who's next?
you gotta respect it though it's pretty objective of him.
Because jokic really doesn’t care about mvp, and he already got one.
Do you mean to say you don’t like to be the best at what you do? Winning the mvp award is every basketball player dream. Cut me that crab that the is a player who don’t care about mvp lies
Also there's the unwritten rule that you don't talk/cry your way to an MVP. You gotta win it on the floor.
When I go to all of theses UA-cam shows and NBA experts reporters all picked embid so how the heck jocic win
The face injury prohibited him from playing aggressive how hard is it to visually see that
Title should be Sixers OVERWHELMED by Heat
Do the sixers have the best player tho Jimmy has been in the top 2 or 3 players this playoffs.
@SamoaVsEverybody_814 again I’m saying in this series Jimmy is the best player and has been a top 2 player this postseason. Idm what embiid is doing
If Joel Embiid did not play, then you would’ve said he should be helping his team. If Joel Embiid Play, then you would say he didn’t play hard enough.
there is something he can do to win mvp. how about winning that tough conference. how about maintaining the play from the beginning of the year all the way through. consistency.
Miami have a team of good players
Love Skip saying he doesn’t know what’s up with Joel Embiid & he doesn’t know what’s going through his but let that be Giannis, LeBron or even Steph & that man turns into Professor X reading everyone’s minds. 🤦🏾♂️
Thank you Shannon for defending dedmon
OG's 🙏🏽💎
LeGone is munching ruffles 😂😂
Shannon talked about every possible reason why Embiid and friends lost and none of it included because the Heat are and played better.
Dude was injured , his face was injured! That's one of the worst and most painful injury! It would've gone to 7 games if he wasn't injured
skip give me a break, you act like the reporter didnt ask him about the mvp race....you act like he just brought it up on his own or something
bruh. i’m tired of the disrespect. erik spolstra, pat riley. these are the main reasons for the miami heat blowing out the 76ers. y’all blame philly for winning. y’all blame philly for losing. how about throwing some respect on the best team in the east and the only player who’s scored more 40 point playoff games than lebron james (jimmy butler)
Give respect to the heat jeesh
Im actually confused why Embiid is getting the BIG BLAME for this loss
Is the MVP more important than getting to the finals to him? You have to look at James Harden more though. Embiid is playing with injuries.
Ermm maybe it had something to do with the fact that 1) He has like I don’t know 3 different injuries lmao and 2) Miami are just really good. People mentioning game 3 and 4 but Philly were at home and did that look like the same Embiid to y’all? Dude’s not a fkin robot.
Yep. Barkely said embiid played well in game 3 and 4! He clearly hasn't been the same player and I'm pretty sure it's bc his face is broken. But performance should remain exactly the same no matter the severity of injury. Except reality doesn't work this way
Embiid should be commended for playing. He's legitimately injured. He is sooking and putting too much but when it comes down to it, I respect that he's playing. Harden should be playing faster. Man game yesterday he was just walking everywhere.
I hate that most of these analysts care more about a superstars and what they think about their performance rather than actual basketball and how a team is playing great as a unit. Still all about celebrities.
I personally think they lost because Miami was and is a better team. Why are we talking about Joel's feelings. Put some respect on Miami
Heat culture!!!!
Why was Jimmy not an mvp candidate?
We had cp3, Booker, luka, tatum, demar, and Ja in the conversation for mvp but never did hear Jimmy butler sad
