Drury has every right to waive Goodrow, and give Trouba the choice to go to Columbus, Anaheim or be waived. Troubs played like a 7th D and Gorton’s mistake was signing him in the first place. If players get their noses bent out of shape because Drury is doing his actual job, and after being treated as wonderful as the organization treats its players, it’s evidence of an entitled locker room. Agree with Jeff’s take, Trouba DIDNT have control, and neither did Ryan McDonough when Tampa did the same thing 2 years ago. Those of watch this team 82 games a year know that Trouba’s single asset was his physical play. That we are so starved for physical play yet so happy to see him gone should spark some curiosity in good folks like Greg to watch Trouba not stop east west passes through the low slot, put himself way out of position, not clear pucks, and make consistently poor choices, and then understand. Greg, I don’t think Lavy deserves to lose his job, but never liked his defensive scheme in any team he’s coached.
People are upset bc Drury is doing his job. He cleared space for Igor and will have money at the deadline if the Rangers are in a good spot. Mila and Miller mist go. Mika is full NMC so I'm good scratching him until he asks for a trade
I agree, he has done fine though ditching Z would be a mistake. He has a general core that is, or at least, very recently was, good enough to make big waves. He's at that point where a window is there, maybe not as open as a year ago so he has to make some moves. History shows that generally though, it is tough to extend a peak period once decline starts. He's not doing a bad job, but it is a very difficult task.
11:41 soft takes like this is just as soft as this Rangers team. They're millionares and know that being relocated and traveling is part of their JOB, there is not good or bad guy here. Both parties were doing what was in their best interests. Get over it Trouba, I had to relocate countless times as a KID becaue my dad's work required it our he'd be fired. You don't even have to worry about being fired, EVER no matter how much you stink up the ice.
Trouba won't get over it. In his career he has loudly put his work-life balance first, moreso than maybe any player I can recall apart from Eric Lindros at the start of his career. Nothing wrong with prioritizing family, but he shouldn't feel too hard done by as he forced the Rangers to get a little greasy. Like you say, in most jobs Trouba would have simply been fired.
I completely disagree on the threat part. If they were prepared to put him on waivers anyway, giving him a say in his destination is doing him a favor. I like Trouba, but he’s turned into a complete baby about this acting like this is the biggest surprise of all time to him
When did Trouba say this was a surprise to him? His public comments never reflected that posture. Heck, he hasn't even been a baby about it. He hasn't played well this season, but he didn't say a word about the situation publicly until after the trade happened. And even then he didn't criticize the organization or complain.
When did he complain? He was well within his right to exercise his NMC. Aside from legit grievances about his play, how the fanbase turned on him and mgmt treated him was a disgrace.
MvW was great in its day; he's a fellow Devils fan and knowledgeable on hockey but unfortunately Wysh has become completely insufferable. Pass and will be back for tomorrow's show.
Wyshynski first off is a Ranger hater for years and is a Devil fan which everyone knows. Maybe you should have a better guest to talk about the Rangers than him! This team has had 3 coaches in 4 years and I've been saying for years this core is mentally soft. They screwed up the rebuild when they signed Panarin a year and a half into it. That lead to keeping Kreider and Mika which they would have gotten a boat load for had they traded them.

Guys is it bad that I take enormous pleasure in the failures of the Sabres, Rangers and Senators? Am I a bad person?

Wyshynski is a clown.. so how should they have done it? He needed to be gone

Where does he buy his hair piece?
Chris Drury is a bad gm I do not understand people defending him anymore
