Oh yes, I remember The Flintstones at 5.30pm. Where we have The Simpsons as our national teatime cartoon today, the 80's were rocking some classic Flintstones. Then Neighbours came along and gave it the elbow. It's a bit of an oddity how it wasn't included under the CBBC strand though. I know that it was thought of as being an adult, or at least family, show in the US, but it fits better as a kids' cartoon really. It's weird to think that it had already been out of production for twenty years, by 1986. And although there has been some spin-off stuff produced, it's strange how the actual cartoon, one of the most popular and still recognised brands of all time, has never been revived.

The date happened to be my mother's 50th birthday. I had taken my O Levels and left school!
