  • Kelly Clarkson chats with first grade teacher Eric Hale, the 2019 recipient of the Queen Smith Award, which recognizes a top educator in the country working in an urban school district. Eric tells Kelly he motivates his students by using music (including some Kelly songs!) to teach his lessons, and talks about the teacher he had as a child that changed his life. Little does he know, Kelly has a big surprise for him: a $10,000 check from Texas Capital Bank to be used for his classroom.

i had 1 teacher in 3rd grade that NEVER gave up on me. I struggled more than the others in the class. I couldn't read very well. and she helped me learn by taking her time with me. Even AFTER leaving her class. she always made sure that I was working my hardest. Im 30 now. i found out a few years ago. that she had kept every single news clippings of me. from winning pageants and birthdays and NEVER stopped keeping up with me. When i introduced my Daughter to her she said "and this must be Danie" I WAS SHOCKED! she is such a wonderful woman.

Texas is actually one of the worst states in the nation in terms of early childhood education, early childhood intervention, and child and adolescent mental health resources. It's sad because Texas is the fastest growing state in the whole country, yet we continue to let our kids down time and time again. I LOVE so much that Kelly brings so much attention to teachers and really helps the general public understand the importance of investing in our children as early as possible and then continuing to support them throughout their educational journey. I hope that more people will jump on board to make the changes we need in Texas, and throughout the nation, to invest in our little babies!!!

    I so agree with that
if I did that for my own kids knowing going to school but I’ll give that into the funding for that would be for 55000,000 dollars Into that funding
or if I had guidanceConsoler or choirTeachers or janitors or custodians or principals to have that little bit money on them for 9,5 dollars for them
or if we do go off campus with my own students or if I do
so I’ll give my own students to have there moneyPouches like a binder holder for them if I could control that so they could give them if they could have responsibility for their own money
but I do want all of my students to drive with their parents
and so I’ll give them to have buses for them and the buses would be for 650 dollars to have that bus service for them
and that’s the circle of life for that environment for to do that

But if by "copying" Mark means, "People with money and means and a TV show platform giving money/gifts/accolades/attention to deserving people" then there needs to be more copying of Ellen. @olusayoorodele9732 4 роки тому

      but it's a laid-back setup

  •  4 роки тому

For once I believe Kelly is wrong.
Sure, "a lot of people get really lost in the big scheme", that's true, for sure! But next she says "if we really did focus on our own community" which I think is wrong (at least partially). Why? Because community members often miss out on what is important "in the big scheme".
For example: On average, Texas inhabitants are knowing less than educated global citizens of the *_real facts_* about the climate crisis. So in Texas, leaning on the "community" can make you feel comfortable while being in a 'boat very close to the head of the Niagara Falls' (if you get my thinking).
Feeling comfortable and content in a community, church, political party, voluntary society, or supporting/being a philanthropist, etc., might cloud your mind to think "everything is fine". While reality is the opposite. It is not fine, not outside of that bubble of comfort or contentment. Reality might be even worse than your night-mares, but are you ready to embrace the challenges???

We wouldn’t have a society or even a civilization if everyone thought this way, sir. Also, someone else has to teach our children while we work. Someone has to make sure they will have the skills needed to succeed. And since parents alone cannot do it, someone else has to help. Selfless people keep this world running and selfish people make it worse. We need more people like this teacher to keep making the world better.
